It's been a while since I've been on Tumblr. So long that my previous account got deleted.
I probably won't be consistent with posting about my weight loss journey.
Let's begin. I've always been overweight, but not too bad. By my late teens I decided to lose weight, and lost 40 pounds, so I think I weighed around 154 pounds. Then I gained weight, and lost. At one point I got up to 194, and then lost 30-40 pounds. Around this time I started dating my now husband, and went on birth control. That caused me to gain all the weight I lost back in less than a year. Then we got married, I was in grad school, then got pregnant, had a baby, and breastfed. Well what they tell you about wight loss and breast feeding is a lie, I gained wight.
Anyway, by the time I got pregnant my weight got to 204 lbs. I started keto, lost 10 pounds and got pregnant. I didn't stuck with keto because I craved carbs. Well with my pregnancy I gained 40 pounds, and lost 15 of it after giving birth. Then I maintained that weight, until I decided to work on losing weight again. I lost about 22 pounds when I got pregnant again when my eldest T was 14 months old.
Weight gain with my second pregnancy was slow and about 15 pounds. With this baby I was able to breast feed for a year, and didn't want to change my diet since when I did, my supply would dip. Well after having baby A I lost my pregnancy weight within 2 weeks, which was amazing. But it crept back and I gained more weight. So by the time my baby was 10 months old, in October of 2020, I was at 232 pounds.
Around this time I was reading about Whole30 and how people learn about food sensitivities and to tame the Sugar Dragon. I know I have an addiction to sugar, mainly candy and desserts. So I wanted to do a reset and control my sugar addiction. In October 2020, I dove in and tried Whole30 for a week to make sure I liked the food and wouldn't feel anxiety over cooking in a new way.
I was amazed that I lost 8 pounds. After that I decided after the holidays I would put forth a full round on Whole30 in Janurary 2021. Which I did. I lost 13 pounds and learned so much about food and my body. I learned that beans do not sit well with me, so I avoid them, and know that snacking, or grazing is my worst enemy.
Since then, I have stuck with eating Whole30 about 80% of the time, and have managed to lose more weight.
Then at the end of March, beginning of April, I gained 6 pounds.. so starting April 11, I decided I needed to get moving and exercise, as well as keeping on with eating healthy. My downfall at this point was due to thr stress of house hunting, and Easter.
I did not do another round of Whole30, but stuck with the meal template, but still had take out and junk food. From April 11 to May 2, I lost 7 pounds, and an average of 2 inches.
Now I plan to do more whole eating, and exercising to hopefully get down to 132 pounds.
Start weight: 232.8 lbs (Oct 2020)
Current weight: 198.6 lbs (May 2, 202)
