"Literally mages everywhere these days. Where are you all coming from! He’s a mage, she’s a mage. Since the rebellion happened it’s like BAM. Next thing I know I’m a mage."
❝ You might want to do a bit of critical thinking-- what happened
when the mage rebellion transpired? Oh, right, every mage
that had been locked in a tower and kept away from society
was emancipated. And I happen to be one of them. Careful
who you talk like that to. ❞
The Inquisitor’s response doesn’t fail to bring about a smirk. It is her wit that keeps this team afloat. No one could walk out of the war room without remembering the funny little thing that the Inquisitor said about nasty demons. It is a trait that Cullen admires in his leader.
"I am glad that you can still make light of the situation, Inquisitor." When the inquiry shifts to him, he retreats his hand to rest upon the hilt of his blade, gripping it firmly. "You needn’t worry about me, I will not fail you." Somehow he is able to dodge her question while still being respectful to her, a talent of the Commander.
Even as witty as Evelyn could be, she was not packed with charm upon
charm, like the rose-leaves in one of those expensive Orlesian vases.
She sprinkled humor where it was right for her sake, for without it one
may be able to see that she has no idea what she's doing. A lowly circle
mage doesn't know how to save Thedas. Others made it seem like a
simple hat-trick-- the Hero of Ferelden, the Champion of Kirkwall.. That
heroic zest they naturally had was not present in her, all she had were
titles. Mage, heretic, Inquisitior, Herald of Andraste. Evelyn bristles a bit
when he refers to her as her newly-appointed name, but responds on her
feet with a sweet smile.
❝I am not concerned about whether or not you will fail me;
I have faith in you and you're human. If I wanted to know
if you were working well, I'd have asked one of the other
Advisors. I'm asking you. Are you doing well? ❞
Evelyn speaks slowly, as if addressing a child. She truly meant no
disrespect. Sometimes she worried for his health, what with him
working around the clock, never taking the breaks that any normal
worker might take. He cared for his job, but it was evident he did not
care much for himself.
In a world without gold and the Chant, Evelyn might have lived a normal life.
Whether or not it was fate or chance, duty was thrust upon her at every
cornerstone of her life. Her duty as a mage; to be protected, to serve the
Chantry, to stay away from life outside of the spiracle they'd placed her in.
Her duty at the Conclave; support the Trevelyan name, advocate against
every right she'd been lusting after since she was forced into the circle,
try to win back the love that her brothers and sisters got unconditionally.
Now, her duty to the Inquisition dogged her, with its many-faced demands.
Thankfully, she served as a figurehead, a stance of power that mages never
had the luxury of attaining in the past, but even so, it was all the more trying.
The heretic mage of the Trevelyan line was known all throughout Thedas.
But what of those before her? The Aeducan that was cast from her nobility,
whose status as heir was usurped from her. Exiled, caseless, essentially
cut down to the prestige of a mage. Who could blame Evelyn for looking
up to her? She took the dregs of her power and used it to smite the blight
to save Fereldan, a place that would treat her with disrespect simply for
existing (she drew so many parallels between her and the hero, perhaps
too many). Scrawled on pages and pages of her journal, Evelyn had revered
her in silence. What better person was there to look up to? She set a
precedent unlike any other, one not spurred from recklessness like the
Champion, but a stellar, unrivaled one.
When word broke out that Sereda Aeducan was venturing to Skyhold
to aid the Inquisition, Evelyn could have cried. Key word there was
could have. She kept her wits about her, kept her demeanor nothing short
of daunting. If the leader was seen weeping over the chance to see her
idol, it would be most likely a blow to morale. The Inquisitor was the one
who was the idol, the Herald of Andraste bowed to no one, yadda yadda,
she'd be sure to hear a strongly-worded talk from one of the Advisors if
she were to let any of that damned facade collapse.
When she saw the Hero of Ferelden, though, she couldn't help but make
eyes at her. And the smile she softly used fills the silence like a speech.
Inquisitor, I never had the chance to ask, with everything going on, I forgot my most important objective as Commander: seeing to your welfare. How are you, are you all right?
❝Between demons, being tasked with closing every fade tear in
Thedas, being called a heretic and disowned by the Chantry, and
having every principality and their mother call to the Inquisiton
for help? I'd say for the time being, I'm fairing quite well. And
what of you, commander? ❞
⌠ ℬ y their side ⌡—❝Out of curiosity, really. I never really got to ask when I was a Templar--it was always a thing to be feared of. But taking into consideration that our souls become a part of it once our material bodies leave us, well--it's just another place we go to then, I assume. Although I would hardly imagine that fur pouldrons and garments are accessories I can pick up from the local merchant there.❞
❝That is what you're concerned about? There happen to be
no merchants, unless you want to make a deal with a demon.
But even I doubt that they could fully replicate your pauldrons.
Or any of your garments, for that matter. Has anybody told you
you're quite stylish, commander? ❞
A smile flashes over her face, like sunshine over a flower
Such a sentiment was an anomaly in a professional setting,
but perhaps their friendship constitutes a slight breach in
formality.
❝ I'm no stranger. I went to the Fade in my Harrowing
as well, so it was nothing I wasn't prepared for. Looked
just like it does in dreams. Why is it you ask? ❞

1. What is your name?
"The-One-Whose-Hand-Glows, Inky, Boss, Herald of Andraste, Inquisitor, occasionally Lady Trevelyan—”
2. What is your real name?
"Evelyn Trevelyan. I always liked the way it rolls off the tongue. Very euphonious. "
3. Do you know why you were called that?
"Which one? I've got the anchor, so that covers most of them. Sera calls me Inky for.. reasons unknown. Probably because of my habit of being not-so careful with ink when I write my journal. And my name is my name because when my mother saw me, she remarked 'Evelyn'. I'm thankful she didn't remark 'Herald' because then I would be Herald, the Herald of Andraste—"
4. Are you single or taken?
"I'm taken with a lot of things, if that's what you're asking."
5. Have any abilities or powers?
"There are a lot. The ones I've harnessed and the ones bestowed upon me.. I suppose my mistakes outnuber what good I've done with them, though. One blew up the conclave, the others have accidently hurt others and myself... Somes I hit companions on accident, in the heat of battle."
6. Stop being a Mary Sue.
"Who? What a weird name, that one."
7. What’s your eye color?
"Green. Forest-y."
8. How about your hair color?
"Brown. Like dirt."
9. Have you any family members?
"Brothers are dead, or most of them. Never was close with my family, come to think of it. Circle's gone, so what I considered my family is mostly rubble. Blood ties, yeah, I've got a mother and a father."
10. Oh? What about pets?
"I wanted a Mabari, but for some reason the Inquisition won't let me. Maybe I should get a dragon mount."
11. That’s cool I guess, now tell me about something you don’t like.
"When things get heated in the warroom. Yelling is not fun."
12. Do you have any hobbies/activities you like doing?
"Killing evil things, I suppost, and templars accosting me. That's always fun. "
13. Ever hurt anyone before?
"What a ridiculous question."
14. Ever….killed anyone before?
"No. Never!"
15. What kind of animal are you?
"Mages aren't animals!"
16. Name your worst habits.
"Not wearing helmets. I hate how they fit, because if they fit correctly, it makes all of my hair stick to my forhead. And it's an awkward homecoming when you're sent to talk to nobles and my hair is abhorrent."
17. Do you look up to anyone at all?
"Andraste. The Maker. The bulk of the Inquisition.”
18. Gay, straight, or bisexual?
"Are there suddenly only three identities? I'll say 'or', since you said it."
19. Do you go to school?
"I suppose the Circle was my education. I also had tutors, before my parents found out I am a mage."
20. Do you ever want to marry and have kids one day?
"Mmmaybe. I don't know if I'll ever be content being a housewife, though.”
21. Do you have any fanboys/fangirls?
"The shrines dedicated to me should answer that question."
22. What are you most afraid of?
"Everything going wrong.”
23. What do you usually wear?
"Robes. It's become a habit; I could very well try to wear the armor made for the Rouges or Warriors, but I'm untrained and don't want to embarrass myself by falling face-first because the armor's too heavy."
24. Do you love someone?
"No. I am a heartless shrew. Andraste says that I shouldn't love anybody, since the trappings of a mortal are below me— I hope you realize I'm joking."
25. When was the last time you wet yourself?
“First time I was at the Circle. It was my protest to being there. I wondered why servents didn't come and clean it up.”
26. Well, it’s not over yet!
"I do hope you're not twisting anything I'm saying."
27.What class are you?(High class, middle class, low class)
"I was high-class. All mages become low-class, though. They didn't even have servents. "
28. How many friends do you have?
"Hopefully they outnumber my enemies, now. "
29. What are your thoughts on pie?
"Put anything in a pie and it is five times more delicious."
30. Favorite drink?
"Any of those expensive Antivian teas that Josephine brings into my chambers. Those are nice."
31. What’s your favorite place?
"Anywhere with the Inquisition."
32. Are you interested in someone~
“I'm interested in why you're making me tell you this.”
33. What’s your bra cup size and/or how big is your willy?
"What— Is there now a way of measuring those things?"
34. Would you rather swim in the lake or the ocean?
"I.. can't... swim."
35. What’s your type?
"Type of what? I'm a mage, I already told you."
36. Any fetishes?
"Like a wooden fetish? I don't carry one on me! I do have a very nice one of a crow in the throne room, think it's orlesian."
37. Seme or uke?
"I don't speak Antivian."
38. Camping or indoors?
"Indoors. I hate bugs."
39. Are you wanting the quiz to end?
"Quiz? What?"
40. Now it’s over! Tag five people: (up at the top)
Wow! Guys I don’t know what to say except thanks for following ;w; When I made Maia I thought few people would like her so I certainly never expected 100 followers, much less to pass that mark! And it makes me happy, even if I’m such a busy person and can’t RP everyday, I do enjoy writing with you guys when I have the chance. I’ve really enjoyed playing Maia, starting to flesh her out even before the game came out, and even more now that I have a full-scope of her in-game.
