The stance of a man whos about to beat his suicidal maniac husbands ass so he cant khs
Married-level of in sync.
My first The Pitt's Headcanon I guess
I just thought about this and I needed to share it.
Imagine Robby and Abbot have known each other since med school and they developed a close relationship (I personally prefer it being a romantic one with little talk about what it really is but this works as friendship too), but when it's time for their residencies they go their separate ways (breaking up without really saying it, I love angst). However, they stay in touch as friends and when Abbot is deployed, Robby writes to him and they do video calls.
In one of their first video calls, another soldier says some rude comment to Jack about Robby being his boyfriend. Jack says angrily to him that he is his friend and Robby makes some lighthearted comment confirming it and asks the soldier what he likes. The soldier is confused but answers saying he likes beer, women and football, or some masculine shit like that.
The next time there's mail to the base there's a letter from Robby to Jack, of course, but also another to the soldier about different kinds of beers and last football results. At the end of the letter Robby tells the soldier that he would like to be his pen pal.
And that's how the soldier established a long-distance friendship (maybe the first real friendship of his life) with a doctor he had never met and which would cotinue for years, long after Abbot and Robby lost touch (because after the first deployment they were too scarred and it was too painful to keep pretending to be just friends and not complicated exs still in love with each other).
When Jack asks Robby later on why did he do that he says "he looked so sad and envious that I assumed he could use a friend".
Jack Abbot headcanons that are so important to me.
Major Jack Christopher Abbot, MD, 75th Ranger Regiment, Medical Officer. 46 years old.
Grew up in Oklahoma. Rode bulls in his teens. 3 brothers, all military as well. Mom is a saint, dad was a racist alcoholic asshole that never really left Vietnam.
Joined the Army straight out of high school.
Met Maggie Johnson in med school, where she was a nursing student. Married at 23, one month before deploying to Afghanistan in 2002. His dad never forgave him for marrying a black woman.
Met Robby in New Orleans in 2005 after Katrina. Stayed in touch over the years.
Did 5 tours. 3 in Afghanistan, 2 in Iraq. Lost his leg in 2015 when his Humvee rolled over an IED. He was the only survivor.
Started therapy after he woke up with his hands around Maggieās throat, lost in a PTSD spiral. Made his first serious attempt that same night.
Maggie died in a car accident in 2017. Drunk driver. Second, and last, serious attempt the day after her funeral.
Takes sertraline for his PTSD, prazosin for nightmares, trazodone for sleep, and propranolol as needed for occasional hyperarousal. Gabapentin for phantom limb pain.
Joined PTMC in 2019 when Robby called and offered the job.
Met Samira Mohan in 2021. Fell in lust with her somewhere between 2023 and 2025. Most likely fell head over ass at Robbyās cookout the summer of 2026. Her hair was down and heād made her laugh so hard she cried. He canāt remember what it was he said.
Went to Maggieās grave the next day. Told her all about Samira. Let her know heād never stop loving her, even when he loved someone new. Took his ring off that night. It stays in a keepsake box with all his most precious possessions.
Robby might not be married with two kids in college right now but what he CAN have is a one-month-old and Dr Jack Abbot and that's basically the same thing. right
I realize there are more important things to take away from the Pitt finale, but I need more time to process the heavier stuff. In the meantime....
The Rabbot potential of this episode.
The married fight in the ambulance bay? Jack expressing his worry for Robby? Robby throwing Abbot's SWAT hobby in his face. Jack trying to convince Robby to get help? While opening up about his own shit? "You've gotta find somebody to help you dance through the darkness"? And then Robby danced with Baby Jane Doe in the dark while he poured his heart out? And Jack is canonically his emergency contact? And they've set it up to look like Robby will be fostering the baby for his sabbatical instead?
Are you kidding me? Rabbot!FosterDads for the abandoned baby? Girrrrrrrl, the way I'm already salivating over the Rabbot fics coming my way𫦠I need these men to raise that little girl together.
the way he was able to make robby laugh..rethink, and even hug. it made me so happy...the fact that robby didnt go out without talking qith abbot..this whole scene and episode did so well for me..it made me extremwly happy
in this lovely day before the season finale of The Pitt drops, allow me to express my lone theory for the show's ending:
jack will ask robby to move in with him for a bit. he's gonna cram companionship down that man's throat via bff suicide watch. robby will take his sabbatical in that man's guest room and watch shitty telly and be forced to go on weekend hikes in the middle of summer.
thank you for coming to my ted talk. when i'm wrong tomorrow, no one tell me
And Robby hates it, he wants it to feel bad, he wants jack to notice its stupid, that ita nit worth the ride and Jack never once acts burden, reacts like robby is a burden or that robby is a bother actually the oposite whenever robby shows signs to be pulling away to be retreating to be alone even to give Jack his privacy, Jack pulls him to do something with him, to spend time with him Fulk on Quality time and phisycal contact. š
real ones love you even on your worst days
This made me smile so much
RABBOT YURI and BUTCH ROBBY
Havent been able to do Digital art so sadly we will only have pencil sketches for now.
robby keeps saying he wants to go but the whole season has been him looking for excuses to stay (and failing)
treating duke (but now thereās nothing for him to do but wait a week and come back)
asking noelle to come with him (āiāll see you next week.ā)
various reasons the people he cares about arenāt ready for him to leave (heās been pulling away from them all season and making it easier for them to send him off, no cake, no card, no nothing⦠also his shitty attitude)
telling dana this place might not survive without him (āit survived without adamson itāll survive without you too.ā)
everyone at every turn has been telling him to go, but all itās going to take is jack abbott slashing his bike tires telling him to stay, that he wants him to stay, and i have a feeling robby will fold.
i have loved you since we were eighteen /rabbot fanvid x 18
absolute cinema. the artistry ugh the potential oh my lord this is everythingggg
at the end of episode 15 Robby will audibly sigh and say "wow what a shit day but it's over and I can't wait to finally kill myself in a motorcycle crash." then he walks out to the ambulance bay and his motorcycle is dismantled on the ground like an unassembled Lego set. Abbot and Whitaker are standing by with comically large screwdrivers. Robby rolls his eyes "oh you guys!" then the seinfeld outro plays to end the episode and nothing bad ever happens in the Pitt again.
