Answer my Prayer || Jito || Chapter 4 || Closed @ Tsukiko

He managed to finish his prayer, though he didn’t seem quite satisfied with an answer or lack of an answer. Just more confused thoughts.
“Hmm…? If you’re offering I won’t say no. What would you make?”
He stands up from his praying position, bounding up onto his feet.
“Um… Todoroki-chan you’re not really religious I bet but… what are your thoughts on it? I figured I’d try it… try and see if I could get some message from my mentor… maybe some sort of encouragement from him right now.”
He wasn’t sure what to expect though but he was disappointed all the same.
“Hmmmm... I can make decent sandwiches! But maybe that’s not much of a comfort food... Oh, what about spaghetti! That’s one of the few dishes I can actually make without something going wrong!”
If anyone would freely admit their questionable cooking skills, it would be Tsukiko. It’s not like as if she ever deluded herself into thinking that she’s a great chef. All she did was try out all kinds of weird combinations and see where this led her... and only if she actually had the time and wanted to cook to begin with.
(She missed her parent’s cooking--)
“Religion, huh? Well, you deduced correctly - I’m not religious in the least. I don’t believe in any gods, but if somehow, an actual god would appear in our mortal realm, I wouldn’t mind the surprise! It’d just mean that I was proven wrong on an assumption of mine - something that happens all the time when you’re experimenting. Mankind’s perception of the world around them constantly changes - sometimes in small scales, sometimes in a big way!”
From the looks of it, Tsukiko seemed to be doing better than the day after their last trial. There was still a hint of bags under her eye, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as before.
“As for praying... If it gives you peace of mind, then go for it. I wouldn’t do it myself, because I just can’t see some vague deity answering my pleas so conveniently - even less so other human beings-- unless you can use telepathy, of course. Though that wouldn’t really count as praying anymore, would it?”
She tilted her head to the side, one hand cupping her face.
“If I want to see changes, then I have to do it myself. With my own two hands. Even if the progress seems to be almost non-existent; even if you feel like you actually regressed - there’s no way other than forward. As long as you don’t give up, there are possibilities open to you. Maybe there aren’t a lot - or maybe, you simply didn’t see the other ones yet that are open to you. There’s always a way to reach your goal, even if there’s lots of pebbles in the way.”
... Wait, this felt sort of strange. Sure, Jitou asked her and she responded truthfully, but did this actually help him feel better?
“Um... Did that help?”
