A flock of mostly grackles I think, although there could be other blackbirds in it, in mid-July a few years ago. They flew so close I could hear their wings and almost feel the air. It gave me goosebumps. I had never seen anything but starlings fly in a group like this.

The swelling can get intense and this will make your life much easier, starting with your journey home from the hospital and continuing throughout the following weeks. I would have cried a bunch without mine.

Gain as much weight as possible beforehand! Both muscle and fat. Your muscles will atrophy slightly from lack of movement and you won't be able to eat for a couple days, meaning you will live off of your fat reserves. Also, the sharper your hip bones are, the more painful the first few days will be. My worst pain and ugliest scar were actually caused by bandage pressure at my hip bones, nothing else matched that and painkillers DIDN'T help against that.

The bigger your pelvis is, the deeper your vagina can be! Material is often not the main limitation — available space is.

Walking helps you dilate. Don't try to dilate first thing in the morning without walking around for a bit beforehand.

Have a few every drinks at the hospital and ask a doctor about when you can start drinking them. Your blood pressure may plummet along with your energy levels to the point where walking for 5 meters makes you faint.

No stitches does NOT equal sex-ready. Wait until all pain and discomfort is gone, and preferably ask your surgeon at the multiple month checkup. Feel free to try different movements with the dilator for a few seconds to see how things feel though.

There are herbal teas intended to improve your urethra function that you can get at pharmacies. Drink a cup every day when you're off anti biotics to prevent / shorten infections.
