Around 50 years ago, Project Shadow found success with results from the DNA of a millennia-old alien ruler and an average hedgehog woman from Earth. (Or, Shadow the Hedgehog had a biological mobian mother. A disturbance in the fabric of time and space allows them to finally meet.)

happy one year anniversary to sonic x shadow generations! thank you to the prerelease trailers of this game for causing shadow the hedgehog's mother to come to me in a dream. i think it's about time i tell the story that played out in my mind that night.

Sonic fans will do literally anything instead of drawing Omega. Anyway here’s some sketches of a redesign I’m doing for Neo Devil Doom. (Yes I’m redesigning my redesigns of Shadow and Rouge too. I need to make a better Super Sonic and Super Shadow than Sega will allow and you just know I need to draw Devil Shadow while I’m at it.)

So like. Post Sonic Forces does the entire population just have PTSD seeing Shadow The Hedgehog?

Guh, Sonic.exe plot but it’s less haunted game more eldritch abomination. Imagine Cyn from Murder Drones but “Sonic” (doesn’t really count as an .exe for this idea so we’re switching to “Sonic” from here on out) is more an evil entity like Mephiles or Black Doom that would rather torment individuals than rule the world. Imagine that, add in some arbitrary rules for why it doesn’t just kill outright and can be escaped, maybe toss a time loop in for fun, then boom you got the ideal in-universe Sonic.exe equivalent.

Side tangent, “Sonic” appears as Classic Sonic first as a lure (think angler fish), gets the black bleeding eye when the lure is no longer needed, then goes full on surrealist eldritch nightmare contortion of Sonic and whatever the current target fears consciously or unconsciously.

Fair warning I will probably do nothing with this idea but I really wanted to get it out haha.

I think Lancelot in SaTBK is really funny as a concept because you just know if you tossed Shadow into a medieval fantasy world (not one structured around Arthurian legend) he’d walk out as The Witcher not Sonic’s personal bodyguard. He’s already got the unnatural eyes and strange abilities after all.

It’s also really funny because of the emphasis on Shadow as some weird pseudo royal figure (“All Hail Shadow” and Black Doom as an alien ruler) yet in SaTBK he’s serving a king, I feel like it’d be more interesting to explore how that’d work out in a fantasy setting were kingdoms are more tangible instead of abstract.

Uh anyway in conclusion I think SaTBK is not the end all be all of Sonic in a medieval fantasy setting and I think people should explore the idea more.

Once again did not do an Omega redesign and instead drew Eclipse. Why is he called a darkling, let’s call him Black Eclipse because he’s Black Doom’s offspring, and all Black Arms have Black in their name anyway…

This does imply Shadow’s full name is Black Shadow Robotnik the Ultimate Lifeform/Hedgehog btw.
