Yen: hey assholes, look what my man can do
Geralt: *casually cuts a metal collar off Yen's neck like it's nothing*

ok hanging out on reddit is actually a great idea. someone said they didnt like henry cavill as geralt because witchers move "10x faster than a human", but cavill only moves at human speeds, and someone replied they were "fascinated by what actor they would suggest instead" given the limitation that all actors are human.
"maybe OP knows the secret to making witchers in real life but no one's listening" bro 😭
Geralt and Roach Funko Pop!!!
I love how Witchers are supposed to be these big, scary, emotionless monster hunters and Sorceress cold and calculated and as Yen often says: "there's nothing more pathetic than a Sorceress crying", yet most of the times when Geralt and Yen make love, they are soft and caring and they allow themselves to be vulnerable and cry, and they are like that only with each other, and that's so special because it shows how much they love and trust e/o.
Geralt of Rivia by M. Shane Lawrence
I think my favorite translation-related detail in the Witcher saga that separates the original Polish version from English lies in Geralt’s horse(s), Roach
He names all of his horses “Roach,” which in English, is a very grim-sounding name. It immediately stirs the thought of a cockroach, and it sort of fits the grimy dark fantasy aesthetic that the series has going for it, as well as Geralt’s personality as someone who likes to keep things simple and uncomplicated. He gives the name to every horse he owns, further adding to that.
Meanwhile, in the original Polish version, his horse’s name is Płotka, which to my understanding is a diminutive form of płoć, which is a type of fish, known as a common roach in English, which is actually a pretty small and common fish. It being a diminutive form, it’s also basically saying “Roachie” instead of “Roach,” so all things considered, it’s meant to be a tiny, adorable, cutesy name, but that gets completely lost in the translation. It’s like naming your horse “Guppy” or something.
op i need you to know when you google “ Płotka“ this is like the third image

Did someone did this before?
“We’re incredibly lucky to have Henry as our Geralt. He brings that quiet resolve and that natural strength, obviously, that he has. He does all his own stunts, which is a producer’s worst nightmare. If it’s Geralt on the screen, that’s Henry. He will probably have ten days of training to do those fights, and it’s interesting, because what the fight team will do is really lean into Henry’s strengths. I mean, he is a—you know, he’s a huge, strong person, and it’s really interesting, when you lean into people’s natural strengths, how much more believable something looks. But yeah, it’s about ten days of rehearsals for a fight that we’ll shoot in two days, that will be on screen for about two minutes.”
It's ridiculously cute when Geralt and Jaskier call each other "famous poet" and "famous witcher" in the book.
CIri in the Cat School armor
And so it begins;) The last wish.
Me reading the last wish: Wait so Geralt has explicitly mentioned how he always ‘forgets’ to adjust his eyes to the bright lights and instead he shields his eyes with his arms and they mention the cat eyes. But adjusting your eyes to the amount of light is an autonomic function so he 1. Shouldn’t have control over them and shouldn’t need to remember at all.
So by that extension then that means that they fucked up his eyes so badly that the dilation of his eyes ISN”T autonomic. So 1. all those fics where baby witchers have sensory overloads is Super valid cause clearly they had to be trained in that skill after the mutations and-
Yennefer: *Asks the same questions about Geralt’s eyes*
Me: Hey. Hey Andrzej Sapkowski? I don’t appreciate you putting me on blast like this. Stop it.
