On today's episode of What the Fuck is Going On:
I think my best friend who was straight has realized she isnt. (I told her i would be interested in her years before, when she told me she was straight)
Ive started seeing social media apps as "seductive garbage", and Pinterest is the dumpster I visit when I know I can find something for free in the right spot. I can clean it before I use it, and maybe resell it for profit.
This helps also to close the app you seem stuck in.
Tumblr is my personal bedroom trashcan that is filled with journal entries I tore out because I didnt want my family to see these feelings
I read a post is couldn't comment on, so you get it instead.
The post was about an autistic person finding an adhd person, and thinking "Oh. Youre like me, but fast"
Theres this guy who has a littke more adhd and I have a little more autism, so we have several moments where we say the same thing.
Finding community rocks yall
Your brain is smarter than every computer that has ever existed all combined into one.
Without a tie to a wall, most of them die. And if they die, you stick a brick of life in it for a while.
Your brain can literally do anything you want it to. It can make you pet your cat. Or pull your pants down so you dont pee them. Or see a river full of fish, even if i didnt say a certain river.
A printer still gets overwhelmed and it was one of the first machines we even made.
Your brain came before it. And weve done nothing but try to replicate it.
Dont let clanker posers take your originality.
The concept of using Steve Wilkos fanfiction as a form of healing is aaaabsolutely insane
I wish a doctor would find terminal cancer in me somewhere so my death wouldnt be my fault and my family wouldn't have to bother paying for treatment cuz its too late for me and I could rack up crazy credit card debt that eill die with me so those who matter to me are set up for a while after I die.
If I stopped existing I would stop causing pain. If I stopped breathing I would stop interrupting and if I stopped eating id stop taking from those needier than I. If I would just fucking stop doing all that shit that makes your life worse, maybe id see my own as something worth keeping.
Not to be depressing on main but I dont know how to sincerely say i have pure hope for the future.
Screens might be our doom.
I dont love you the way people do, thats too simple and performative. I love you the way a writer loves a pen. The way that pen loves the page. How that page loves the paperweight.
I dont love you in song or dance, I love you in purpose and choice.
This is a way for me to try and get out of my comfort zone a little bit by sharing something I know a lot about. (Probably because I made it up lmao)
Forget Me Not (FMN) is a psychological thriller set place in a sci-fi world, not too far into the future.
Im gonna explain the logistics because they wont be explained in the first book (it focuses on the first person perspective so much is unknown to our MC)
A long ass time ago, (exactly when isnt specified) there lived a man named Dr. Alan Braxton. Braxton is a well known "brain doctor". Performing surgery, providing psychological help, and promising to heal every ailment from homosexuality to mania. He was the proud owner of several Cure Camps all across America.
Around the same time as his wife became pregnant, the government made a very compelling discovery.
Life in space.
But because everything was so primitive compared to what we have now, no one was able to create anything new with these cells, but we did have the ability to alter life that already existed. Obviously humans were one of the first test subjects for these experimental years, and who better to test on than those already sick? Casualties and other infections could be blamed on exposure to other ill patients anyways!
So they called up Braxton, who now had a daughter named Miriam. Miriam was the doctors whole world. He loved her more than his studies; so when she became ill with childhood dementia (something extremely under documented at the time) he was completely devastated.
The Top Dogs offered Braxton a deal.
They would fund a basement expansion in every one of his Camps, and also fund research into the condition his daughter had, IF they could use the basements as playgrounds for their new biological toy.
Braxton, seeing no downside, signed the paper. And he spent the rest of his life dedicated to these alien stem cells and trying to find a cure for the evil that was taking Miriams mind away from her.
Fast forward to roughly a decade ago. America's global power is slipping, and the stress is kicking in. Deciding to force the hands of everyone, they decide to take Braxtons (very outdated, yet somehow still brilliant) studies to make this happen.
The flu is now deadly unless you have America's cure. Your crops are dying unless you use America's water. Your houses are rotting unless you protect them with America's coating.
Eventually, the world caught on. Seeing as they were unaffected by these strange occurrences aside from brutal weather. Record breaking tsunamis, longer droughts than ever before, tornadoes destroying millions of homes each year.
Seeing through this self-destructive illusion, the rest of the globe starts researching these "new" issues at speeds Braxton would fall into a coma even imagining.
Eventually they find the alien culprit, and they craft a brand new disease that spreads through the air; designed to erase angry recollections in order to get the nation to sort of Simmer Down.
Needless to say, things go very very wrong, and suddenly you go from forgetting an argument, to forgetting how to digest your lunch.
Eveline Claire is watching this play out, learning about several underground bunkers that were being built in order to try some damage control. Anthills as rhey were called, were supposed to be a quarantine for everyone who could still remember to show up once the tornado sirens went off.
Eveline must make the crucial decision to either take her demented grandmother with her to the Anthill in the hopes of finding a cure there; or leave her behind to die alone and possibly save the other residents from getting infected.
I know this is SUUUUPER long, but ive been working on this plot since 10th grade, so id hope its intricate by now!
Obviously any questions are welcome, and Id be happy to share excerpts as i write. There is no way of knowing when it'll be done (i have a feeling this might end uo being my life's work lol) but im judt having fun with the process :)
Wooden stairs going up to a second level are behind you. The second level only goes around the perimeter of the room though, which you discover to be a basement. Dark, dusty and full of clutter.
Then your name is said. And your mouth is closed. Something is on the second layer. And it wants something you have.
Because this is a dream, you then become aware that whatever the hell it is up there is supposed to represent Your Mind.
Why am I wanting to escape my mind? I love my mind?
Your name again. Heart rate spikes. Its getting closer. Scooting along the ground, slowly, but imminently. You have to get out of here. Turning back around, there is another, taller set of stairs. Its so dark you cant see where it ends. But you know that at the top of the steps (however far that is) is the inside of your front door. Its locked, but you can unlock it. If you make it.
A thud. Spinning, a light is shining onto the pale wet face of what could resemble a person; eyes too completely dark, smile too wide and teeth too small, body too thin to be able to move. Its taunting you by going slow. Not because it cant move quickly, but it likes to see you squirm.
Its head tilts to the side.
Are you going to run?
Your feet feel glued to the floor, and momentarily you consider slipping from your shoes and bolting, but even that would somehow take too long.
Another thud. One step closer.
Its skin is sickly and veins are plainly obvious and some dark fluid is leaking from its mouth. Saliva?
You check the stairs again, risking your life by turning your back for only a moment. The light isnt yours, you still cant see how far youd have to climb.
Its halfway down the stairs now, pulling itself forward with its arms. You dont see any legs, just more of that dark fluid that seems to have filled the eyes and mouth of the thing. Spilling over the steps so profusely its dripping to the floor in many places. The puddles are glimmering in the shaky light source.
Make Up Your Mind.
Wait, I didnt think that-
You blink and its made it all the way to the last step. Its maybe 10 feet from you now, still smiling, still seeing through you, still craving your freedom. Its been trapped here for a long time.
Its hand shoots out to grip the ground and attempt to drag itself further. Your hands shoot out too, yanking a jank clearly handmade cart and shove it at the thing before sprinting up the stairs.
There are much fewer than you expect.
The new animal farm rocks btw
I want a pen pal so so bad. Someone ill probably never meet, but i want to write letters to someone, learn about someone else's world, share pieces of mine, connect through papers the way we were supposed to.
What if I made a program for everyone to get a pen pal, like a flyer where they send letters to my house and I randomly assign pen pals? That would be fun i think, but no one in my generation even likes writing :(
So uh….some dude apparently recreated Adobe Photoshop feature-for-feature, for FREE, and it runs in your browser.
Anyway, fuck Adobe, and enjoy!
Give credit to the 30-year-old who worked on this for free and offers this service for free!
WHAT?!
I study graphic design and my tutor recommended and used this in his classes at art college last year, it’s so good it has SO many features for free, I really recommend it, even if you’re just trying to learn the basics of PS, such a wonderful thing <3
It always baffles me when npcs (guests) become self aware (make a comment about me having a shift/being on the clock/them not seeing me after they get up) and expect a candy for it with their grin; yes, im working a job and am only being nice to you because im paid to do so
This is a lie ofc, I cant be intentionally mean to strangers
Story time:
When I was a kid, I didnt know people made up their own imaginary characters so mine were Toothless and Baloo the bear from the jungle book.
It lasted about a day and a half, as i realized I was going to single handedly be imagining all the emotions, animations, sounds and overall existence, all while also being the only one acknowledging its "existance".
Got old fast lol
