I would actually say there are about 8 mega cities in North America:
Mexico City
Los Angeles/San Diego/Tijuana
Miami/Orlando/Tampa
New York/Philadelphia
Baltimore/DC
Toronto/Hamilton/Buffalo/Rochester
Chicago/Milwaukee
San Francisco/San Jose/Oakland/Sacramento
New York, Mexico City, DC, and the Bay Area are the only ones on this list with adequate REGIONAL transport
Los Angeles needs better transport connections to the Inland Empire and San Diego, plus Tijuana needs rapid transport in the city
Miami needs to massively expand metro rail while Tampa and Orlando just need to get rapid transport, plus Brightline needs to be extended to Tampa
Chicago is fine on its own for transport, but when you factor in Milwaukee and South Bend, it needs a lot more transit
The Canadian Side of Toronto/Buffalo is decent, but the issue is the American side where Buffalo needs to expand their rapid transport, Rochester needs any rapid transport, and Intercity and cross border connections are needed by both
in what universe are Buffalo and Rochester part of the GTA
I'm including them because GO connects to Niagara Falls ON and the US side is part of the Buffalo Metro and I just like Rochester
I can accept Tampa/Orlando tentatively, but Miami is way too far separated from either of the others for all three to be grouped together
