A chilly and boring day.
Ezreal could recall writing that in his journal under a rough pencil sketch of a cobbled path. Why not, when he’s written those words not an hour ago before he made up his mind to take another stroll. Everyone’s just too busy and he has no one to bother with stupidity… and that’s too bad when he feels like being stupid. Just his luck that no one’s ever available when he needs someone.
Now he found himself muttering a silent word of thank you to whatever possessed him to go on a walk. There is someone he could always count on to be there, and the man in question is just a few feet away. After not-so-careful deliberation (and after reminding himself to scratch off the comment about the day being boring), Ezreal broke into a dash, meaning to tackle him. “Hey, Jayce!”

That voice knocked Jayce out of whatever coffee trance he may have had. He jerks his head up, half-believing that it had to be a dream, and was pleasantly surprised when the Explorer ran straight into him, probably bruising a rib or two.
'Ow, Gods help us, Ez. You're going to take a few years off of my precious lifetime.' He wrapped his friend up in a big hug, again secretly happy to see that he's still comfortably taller than Ezreal by a few inches. It would have been awkward if he grew to be taller than me. I was fairly sure I’d always be taller than him… and then he found his amulet… and God knows what old dusty Shuriman magic can do. ’What brought you here? Aren’t you supposed to be somewhere on the other side of the world? Not that I’m complaining, of course.’ A slight grimace. ’It’s good to have you back home.’

Ezreal pulled away from the hug, a big and rather goofy smile on his face. “You know me, sneaking back home when you least expect it.”
"Busy today?" Ocean blue eyes flicked to the side where Jayce was originally headed before he "nudged" him. As much as Ezreal would love to spend the day chatting with him, he doesn’t want to be a bother.

A slight panic jolted through Jayce’s heart, a familiar fear that sent a well of shame down his frame. Don’t go. You’re already never here. He hid it well, though, cracking a cheery smile himself. ‘I was going to check some data with Heimer and Ziggs, but it’s nothing that can’t wait. You’re more important.’ A quick glance at their surroundings, and then a frown. ‘Want to go find somewhere to eat? Then we can sit down, relax, and talk.’ He shivered almost subconsciously; it was one of those days when although the sun was high, there was no warmth on the streets, and the wind hurt pedestrians’ faces whenever they walked into it.

"More important than robot parts? Why, I'm flattered!" he joked, laughing. The look of panicky worry that flashed over the man's face went unnoticed, as he was too preoccupied at ogling their surroundings as always. It was unnecessary as he has made memorized by heart every road, every nook of Piltover, but hey... That's just how Ezreal was molded. "How about you choose where we go this time? You always leave it up to me to decide, it's almost unfair to you."
