BDSM AND FEMINISM
Recently I read a blog post advocating choking and saying an individual enjoyed to be choked in sex. It deeply hurt and offended me. I am opposed to the idea that domination and abuse in any form is sexy. Regardless of consent or not. This is very very harmful to abuse survivors. This lets guys know that it is okay to treat women like this. Abuse and violence is sexy. If you know anyone who has ever been subject to domestic violence you would understand how hurtful it is saying their pain is sexy. Itâs essentially a choice feminism argument that neglects how women are systematically abused and treated. Sharing that is further engraining the notion.
This is really important to me so I thought I would share :)

Madeleine Albright didnât mince words while speaking at a Hillary Clinton rally
While stumping for Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright seemed to send a message straight toward millennial women voters.

Some thoughts on pubes
When you go through puberty, one of the things that will probably happen (unless you have a condition like alopecia) is that youâll grow pubic hair.
What you do with your pubic hair is totally up to you, and may very well change over time depending on whether it is summer, your age, partner preferences and whether you can be fucked. We asked members of the BBB team what they like to do with their pubes and why.
All respondents are female identifying, young and Australian â so it is a very limited survey. This isnât intended as the âfull pictureâ of pubey practices, but rather just a quick look at where some of the BBB team are at with the whole nothing-trim-wax-shave-laser question.Â
Emma, 21: âThe one time I shaved everything off I looked prepubescent so⌠I trim and DO NOT TOUCH now. Also I feel like my pubic area is likeâŚ. cute and kinda chubby? Like porn stars have their skin perfectly stretched over their pubic bone, and the one time I shaved it was like âoh hey there cute chubby lil mons. youâre not sexy at all. Youâre adorable!"â

Feminism didnât teach me to hate men, but it did teach me to stop prioritising them over women.
And it turns out a lot of men think thatâs the same thing as hatred.

What Iâve learnt about sexual liberation
A thoughtful friend gifted me all about love by black feminist scholar bell books. In it, bell writes, âby taking time to communicate with a potential mate we are no longer trapped by the fear and anxiety underlying romantic interactions that take place without discussion or the sharing of intent and desire.â Like much of her writing, in the ostensibly obvious, she reveals the radical and revolutionary.
When I met Alex*, he was 17, had never had a relationship and had just started university. I was 20 and well settled; the age difference seemed momentous. He was bisexual, but had only ever slept with men, and I knew sex was a patriarchal conspiracy. We had been friends for six or so months before we started to date, and although we fell deeply and quickly in love, we waited before having penetrative sex.
From the outset, my relationship with Alex was one of openness and unadulterated vulnerability. By the time we had penetrative sex, we had revised our sexual histories to each other. I had raised discomfort at my age, fears of being a âcougarâ and explained the myriad of ways â structural, cultural, personal â in which sex made me feel uncomfortable. He had told me he feared expectations of dominance, that he often felt insecure about his body and found watching porn impossible. We talked about masturbation, why our fixation on penetrative sex needed to be revised and my weird stress-induced skin condition. They were all topics of conversation I had never before broached with friends, let alone sexual partners.

Itâs not my job to make you a better man and I donât give a shit if Iâve made you a better man. Itâs not a fucking womanâs job to be consumed and invaded and spat out so that some fucking man can evolve.
