Op de randen van Frascati's theaterprogrammering reflecteren zij op de tijdgeest vanuit hun eigen invalshoek. Van een bevlogen lezing naar een kleinschalig debat, tot een vrijblijvende speeltuin of een onverwachtse performance. 15:15 bevraagt, daagt uit, zoekt toekomstperspectieven en durft te experimenteren. Technologie is niet neutraal en speelt een vergaande rol in de wijze waarop wij samenleven, de publieke ruimte inrichten, de politiek vormgeven en mensen in- of uitsluiten. Ontwikkelaars en ontwerpers hebben daardoor een sleutelrol in de vormgeving van de samenleving. Van OV-kaart tot zorgrobot, van DigiD tot zelfrijdende auto: de code bepaalt het gedrag, de regels en de wijze waarop wij met elkaar omgaan. Dat klinkt als iets onoverkomelijks, maar dat hoeft niet zo te zijn. Alles wat bedacht is, kan ook weer worden veranderd.

In een serie programma’s rondom het thema de zelfrijdende auto onderzoekt Merel samen met Waag Society en Hackers & Designers de rol van techniek in onze samenleving. We nemen een kijkje onder de motorkap, knutselen aan sensoren, gaan in gesprek met ethici, technici, kunstenaar en beleidsmakers en vragen ons actief af welke relatie wij (als samenleving) aangaan met dit soort nieuwe technologieën.

I like to think (and the sooner the better!) of a cybernetic meadow where mammals and computers live together in mutually programming harmony like pure water touching clear sky.

I like to think (right now, please!) of a cybernetic forest filled with pines and electronics where deer stroll peacefully past computers as if they were flowers with spinning blossoms. I like to think (it has to be!) of a cybernetic ecology where we are free of our labors and joined back to nature, returned to our mammal brothers and sisters, and all watched over by machines of loving grace.
