As much as I wanted to start my training as soon as possible, there was no point trying to stake out The Bismarck in hopes of seeing Lyngsath, the legendary culinarian master.  I made my way to the local inn, The Drowning Wench, and asked for a room for the next couple of nights. The owner was kind enough to offer me reduced rates after I mention my wish to train as a culinarian, so long as I spent some time working in his kitchens. 

I’ll fall asleep as soon as my head will hit the pillow i think, and I can barely keep myself awake now! Tomorrow will be most exciting!

Finally! It has been late afternoon by the time I managed to squeeze in on one of the ferries, the journey was particularly uncomfortable, but I finally made it! At certain points ( especially that nasty tavern!) I thought of going back home and admitting mother right, but now none of this matters!  I made it to Limsa Lominsa!

This is my last entry before I take off for Limsa Lominsa! I’m very excited, and somewhat relived! I feared that the ferry would be suspended for longer,  forcing me to start looking for something actually adventurous to do. I’m keen to learn to cook, and maybe even venture out into the world of fishing, but violence isn’t my forte.  I have seen many men carrying weapons nearly as large as themselves, and while I am sometimes a little envious of the presence they command in the room, I wouldn’t want to ever have to use any of those weapons!

Today is the day I finally get to take off for Limsa Lominsa! Since it’s too early and the ships aren’t running yet, I’ve taken to looking around a bit more my surroundings. While I know well enough about Garleans invasion and the calamity, I have never seen any of it up close. Living in the better parts of Ul’dah has been a good protection from most of the damage, although i miss my brother still...  Anyhow, I saw a fortress very close to Vesper Bay! I was too excited to really think about it at first, but now it is starting to scare me that it was even built there in the first place! It’s so close I can nearly see their airships leaving and going from here!

After the failed attempt at finding a quiet place at the nearby tavern, I’ve had no other ideas than just sitting down at the now empty square, with the statue of Lolorito Nanarito pointing towards Limsa Lominsa with much more enthusiasm than I can currently muster. I just hope I can keep myself awake for the night.... I have heard plenty horror stories about travellers falling asleep on the road. Maybe they’ll keep me awake if I think of their fates.

Disappointingly, I haven’t found any baubles or clothes fitting my future career. I guess it’s just not that profitable to transport pots and pans around.  I’ve tried to stay at the little tavern that operates in the area, but just like the Coffer and Coffin it was filled with a number of rowdy caravan riders and sailors.  I realise I should get used to this sort of company from now on, but I am still uneasy around... well, nearly everyone. I have never been great at connecting with others even at the best of times, though for not lack of trying.

As a way to pass the time until the evening,  I’ve looked around the few shops that are in Vesper Bay. A large amount of goods pass through here every day, as I’m well reminded of when I see the company seal of my family business. I have been thinking of getting a new set of clothes, so I went out to look around at what goods are out for display.

When I tried to purchase a ticket to Limsa Lominsa I was told that the ferry had temporarily suspended it’s service, which should be running again tomorrow. I am not sure how to pass the time, nor where to stay overnight while I wait for the ship. The road between Vesper Bay and Horizon isn’t particularly far, but leads through a watery area that was filled with a number of rather... unpleasant looking creatures. While I do carry a sword I have been very happy not using it. I think I have no choice other than to try and stake it out overnight until the ferry is running again.
