At the extreme periphery of Charlottenburg, nord ovest of Berlin. The building lot plus the gargage has been bought by an Austrian investor more than seven years ago. The garage stays unrented since then, due to major structural problems. A total renovation seems economically counterproductive. NEIN was a one single word that started to appear on some anonymous poster in the streets of Berlin in the late 20’, during the rise of National Socialist Party. A sharp sign of resistance. Berlin, 2015. The same word reoccurs nowadays. Shaping the dynamics that contribute to define the identity of Berlin: the word “nein” builds up continually, when pronounced, the identity idiosyncrasy, excluding the others. A defence is erected. (Derrida) The project “NEIN” is trying to objectify the process of inclusion/exclusion operating in Berlin. Objectifying the socio economic transformations that are redesigning the anthropological features of the city. Main focus of the project are the relational hubs - the clubs, the bars, the kneipes, the independent galleries – forced to closure due to economical issue. “Places” (Augé) that accumulate and reinforce the friction between the Sociality – the strength within the vital body of the society (Maffesoli) - against the Society the structure that defines the Power – the economic nodes. And whose lost creates a hiatus of freedom within the function of the city. NEIN raises ultimately many questions: Which is the true identity of Berlin? Are we supposed to fight to defend a supposed Berlin integrity? Is there any real Berlin identity? Or It is - as Heinirch Heine was noticing two centuries ago - essentially based on the archetype of transformation: the flux and the convergence of different backgrounds, nationalities and perspectives? intra limen is an open and ongoing photographic documentation project by CORPO 6 that objectifies, with a specific pshicogeography approach, the “limen” of frictions within the urban organism of Berlin: the nature of the exclusion/ inclusion dynamic; the balance of the antinomie: periphery/centre; the logic of the limen between unproductive and productive areas. An active and inclusive exploration of the symmetrical joints of the city.

“Ora, il mio approccio, che tenta, da sempre, con perverse contorsioni di significato di combinare il sociologico al metafisico, deve aprirsi ad una “diaspora” di decodifica più larga, più estesa – che poi è stato il mio punto di partenza, penso a Urban Portraits , un mio progetto di arte urbana a Roma: dove è tutto il corpo urbano a diventare oggetto di analisi. Focalizzando, però, l’attenzione su un topos che definisco “liminale”. Limen come segno di giunzione, punto 0 (dove l’1 e il – 1 si rispecchiano all’infinito), che unisce, sovrappone, la sfera pubblica a quella privata, l’antropizzazione alla desertificazione, l’archetipo alla “persona”, lo spirito al corpo.

E come metodologia di azione, penso che adotterò, quella che ha accomunato tutta la mia ricerca – a partire da la mia tesi discussa con Angelo Trimarco sullo “Schermo” di Mauri:

La dimensione schermica della società postmoderna e post industriale – e quindi di servizi, di in-formazione, di comunicazione – attuale: la qualità espressiva dell’architettura come spazio terminale, schermico, di produzione segnica. La città come schermo. Lo schermo come archetipo. L’archetipo come l’ultimo grande sogno collettivo.”

Limen è il punto 0.

Limite e luogo di rispecchiamento.

Limen è il cuore – athena, necessaria – che anima e chiude in un cerchio -1 e +1: Coincidentia Oppositorum.

LIMEN come unione e identità. . Il Corpo è l’Inconscio.

“Mittelmeer: Einheit / al – Ahadiyah", is a silent black and white outdoor video installation, in loop, realized by Fabio Campagna in Berlin, 2016. Where the naked body of the artist presents itself as a spiritual support. In order to decode the nature of the symmetry within the christological iconography of the cross. The right hand, the first seen in the picture, holds the word “Einheit” – unity in German – written in charcoal, then the body slowly moves across, and the word “Mittelmeer” – Mediterranean in German – appears on the chest surrounded by a circle. Finally the word “Ahadiyah” – unity in Arabic –stands on the left hand which at the end disappears in order to let the physical narration start again. The pre socratic intuition (Anassimandro, Senofone, Eraclito and Parmenide as have been interepreted by the italian philospher Giorgio Colli and philologist Giovanni Semerano as the metaphysical interpreters of the sacred nature of reality), represented by the word “Eniheit” – “Deus sive Natura” the ontological unity of living matter - which funds the birth of Logos in the western civilization reverbs into the Sufi esoteric knowledge of Ibn Arabi “al – Ahadiyah” the holy unity of reality. Written on the left hand. A reflection, the west within the east, and vice versa, united in flesh and blood. The Mediterranean shines, therefore, as a whole, united, body – socially, culturally and symbolically – of living content. A circle, a definitive archetype, undivided. A living organism where east and west compose a symmetrical , infinite, dialog on the sacred nature of existence. Mediterranean, therefore, as definitive symbol of a symbiotic connection and mutual help. East within west and vice versa. The video installation, projected on an entire facade of an abandoned “Plattenbau” in the gentrified area of Prenzlauerberg, is part of the projects “Nein” and “Intra Limen”, which analyze the nature of the interstitial, liminal, areas in the city and has been visible by the travelers of the trains U42 and U41 of the nearby u-bahn station of Prenzlauer Alle. * NEIN PROJECT Berlin, late 1920. Il premio rivolto al mondo delle arti contemporanee prende nome da una delle culle del pensiero occidentale, luogo ideale da cui gettare uno sguardo per scandagliare il campo percepibile al di qua e al di là dell’orizzonte, e al di sopra di esso.

La centralità del paesaggio nel dibattito contemporaneo, e la sua definizione ormai consolidatasi intorno al concetto di percezione, ci spinge a interrogarci sulla natura del rapporto interattivo tra il corpo (individuale e sociale) e l'ambiente che lo accoglie. Gettando lo sguardo all'indietro, le culture di ogni angolo del pianeta ci restituiscono innumerevoli e variegate testimonianze di tale relazione, disposte sul filo teso tra filogenesi e ontogenesi, la cui ampia diffusione non desta certamente stupore, trattandosi di un tipo di esperienza tra le più basilari e condivise del genere umano, posta alle fondamenta dell'identità individuale e collettiva.

La straordinaria pregnanza delle rappresentazioni, più o meno remote nel tempo e nello spazio, nelle quali il corpo si fa paesaggio e viceversa, ci spinge a mettere alla prova la nostra capacità di reinterpretarle alla luce della nostra esperienza con gli strumenti espressivi dell'arte contemporanea.

Il tema della mostra è trattato in particolare in relazione all'Assenza, e prevede una collettiva di artisti di chiara fama che rileggono l'orizzonte degli eventi del terzo millennio proprio attraverso un'assenza ed una inconciliabilità. Attraverso l'assenza del corpo nel paesaggio e l'inconciliabilità dei media landscape con la fisicità corporea, questi interpreti della visione contemporanea sanciscono la definitiva separazione del corpo dal paesaggio della natura o, al contrario trasformano l'eccesso corporeo in pura sequenza di codici binari.

Ciò che ne viene fuori secondo quando si legge nel testo critico è che "se é vero che l'arte visuale rappresenta il limite estremo di ciò che vediamo e pensiamo, allora è l'arte che invade il paesaggio e non il contrario. La forma delle opere è legata ai bisogni elementari che ha l'essere umano di percepire come propri i paesaggi della natura, i ricordi e delle radici che diventano necessari per non essere più soltanto avatar elettronici, ma esseri viventi composti di corpo, mente ed anima."
