i have found my one true love!

today is the 14th of february! very unusual but as it turned out, it was a very busy day for everyone. i am not an exception so isn’t my boyfriend, mike. I was very upset as it was our first valentine.

7 p.m when i finally had the free time to check my phone. [ 5 unread messages] all from the same person.

i was so busy earlier too! a lot of people are dating here! i’m jealous haha

i’m at your lib’s lobby! i figured you’d be here by this time…

sudden guilt got in to my system, and i felt my eyes heating up. i was so touched by the messages i just read and the gestures he kept showing. he’s always been like this. always making time for me.

I went to our university’s library’s front desk right away to meet my boyfriend. When I reached the area i spotted his back right away. He’s wearing a black sweatshirt, jeans and sneakers, his usual. I hugged him from behind that startled him. He then turned to face me and put his arms around me.

“Hey!” He greeted. “ i miss you today!”

“I missed you too! Happy Valentines Day, babe” i said pouting my lips

“Haha happy valentines day, love!” He then withdraw from our hug and grab something from his pocket.

“So last minute gift, I saw this yesterday and was reminded by you. Sorry I was just really occupied in uni” he said while locking the necklace he got me on my neck

“But babe! I didn’t get you any! Not that I forgot! I’m just clueless what to get you. You already got everything”

“Exactly! I got everything i needed. I got you, that’s more than enough”

“But babeee!!”

“Love, don’t worry about it. I don’t care about gifts”

He finished up putting the necklace on me and i gave it a look

“Oh the lego obsession is back” I said making us both laugh

“But what is this? A door or something?”

“What!? Hahahah no it’s half of something” he confesses

“Half of what?”

“Half a heart” he said while taking out the necklace he’s wearing.

He stacked the two lego piece together and it really did make a heart.

“But why is it green?” I suddenly asked

“Because Red is overrated plus did you know Green meant sincerity? This “door” is to remind you how sincere I am” he said forming a little smirk on his lips.

He’s always detailed oriented. It’s one of the many things I’ve noticed and loved about him. He always makes sure that his messages are well conveyed.

Mike’s Daughter’s #1 entry:

My dad always takes me out for dinner almost every week, specially if he can’t cook dinner (he cooks dinner because that’s his forte and because mom does both breakfast and lunch) and today someone asked me what’s my favorite moment with my dad. There’s many but this is the one i could share with you.

It was our one dinner together, minus mom and my sibling(s), we ordered food, ate them and we had random conversations. I ask questions,he would answer me. Mostly things about him and mom.

“So you never really wanted to marry mom in the first place!?” I asked in surprise

“It’s not like I didn’t want to marry her, I didn’t want to marry at all”

“But i remembered you saying you “dated to marry”” I, confused, stared focus at him.

“I was that type yes” he answered sipping his drink

“What do you mean?” my forehead scrunching

“I was serious in dating girls before, I used that phrase to describe how serious i was. But i never really thought i’m gonna be married”

“So you didn’t wanna settle in?”

“Maybe. I don’t know.Couldn’t I settle in without getting married?”

“I don’t know. But that’s weird if you TRULY love a girl why not marry her?” I felt slight annoyance with my (past) dad

“Hmmm maybe i was too young to even thought of it that way?”

“Or maybe you’ve never been in love! Until you met mom?”

“Hmmmm well that’s one way to put it”

“Well how did you know you wanted to marry Mom?”

“When she proposed.”

“What!? SHE proposed to YOU!? You’ve never told me that before!”

“Yeah she did. She barged into my house one day, totally wasted! I was cooking at that time as I could remember. She gave me a back hug, almost burned her hand, and puke on my shirt. I put her on the sofa and she hummed a song for too long, and so loud then she just blurted out “Hey Mike! Why don’t we get married now?” I just laughed and she asked again “Will you marry me, love?” And that time i don’t know? It hit me? After she said that she fell asleep on my couch and I think of how our future would look like. Wedding, kids, you know that stuff. She changed me and she doesn’t even know”

“Aww dad!! Tell me you proposed to her!”

“Hahahahah of course I did! Did you think we just live together in our house now?” We both laughed.

“But Dad can you explain what you felt? I mean that’s not the first time someone proposed to you right? Why does it changed your mind?”

“Because it’s your mom who asked it and she’s really something else. You know you’re mom would always tell me before, She could be the most wasted person on earth but she would still managed to go to the the place she feels safest, her favorite place. In a way, she told me i’m her comfort person and safe space. That day she went home to me even if we weren’t even dating and just asked me for marriage. She’s extraordinary”

There were more laughs and tears shared that night. But that story was the highlight of that evening. My parents’ love story is my favorite story to hear perhaps why this story is one of my favorite moments with dad.

Quinn’s POV

-months after their glee club reunion-

“Wooow I can’t believe you’re choosing someone else over me again. I can’t believe you’ve put me in the same position TWICE!” Mike yelled to me as tears fell down my cheeks

“I am not choosing puck over you! I’ve never chose puck or biff or anyone over you,ever! It’s just that he’s my baby’s father! Wha-“ I tried to mouth those words while i can barely see him with my eyes full of tears.

“No, that’s okay! I get it. You had to choose and you choose him. I’m not stupid i get it,Quinn. I do”

“No!” I tried to reach his arm but failed when he walked out of the room where we were talking.

Mike’s POV

-months after-

“I don’t know how you can still go to Yale and into a different program after what? A year?” Mom questioned me

“Well now, i’m a little left behind since i’m basically restarting with medicine” i simply replied

“I know. But son, what made you changed your mind? I know choosing medicine won’t make you stop pursuing dancing but while change all of sudden?”

“I just think it’s a smart move to pursue medicine nowadays. I got plan in mind mom but that doesn’t include giving up dancing” I firmly said. I’m nervous about switching course AND universities but i’m excited to fulfill my dad’s dream of me and gain a lot more experience.

Yale emailed me my acceptance letter last month exactly the day after i finished my first year of my program in Joffrey. Joffrey was fun and I know dancing, it’s what i want to do for the rest of my life. But when i got into an accident months before, it made me rethink life. I thought I could always dance and pursue dancing in anyway and that I shouldn’t limit myself into my comfort zone. And what’s more of the opposite of being in my comfort zone than pursuing of becoming a doctor right? So I wrote in my letter and got in.

Hundred goodbyes from my family after I took off and board. I’m flying to Connecticut….again. It’s not gonna be my first time since Quinn and I got into an online fling, I used to flew there and visit her on our semestral breaks. That was our set up before, i would fly to her place, she would visit me, we would visit our friends everywhere around the globe. Not until we had to “break up” when she dated Biff and later on Puck. It was my fault for falling for her and not demanding a label to what we are then, but I also have every right to be mad at her now because maybe I saw her relationship with Biff ( or what she used to call “prince charming IRL”) coming but with Puck? I don’t know if it’s the ego that is taking over me saying I am indeed better than Puck but I got annoyed when they got together again after her relationship with the narcissistic Prince Charming.

Many hours that feels like forever later, I am now officially enrolled and temporarily residing in Yale’s. I am in huge dormitory that I would be sharing with an old student, i don’t know who, but right now I see no one so I fix my stuff, my closet, and my table and took a nap.

Quinn’s POV

It’s now my second year of college. I went back home in ohio for our break and had the best time. I visited my mom and brother, my friends, puck convinced shelby once again to allow him [or us] “borrow” beth until they officially had to go back to whichever state they moved to. I was hoping to talk to Mike to clear the air between us but I didn’t see him. I know he purposely went away, i think, to ignore my existence. The last time we talked, we got into a massive argument that I sure did not enjoy. Mike is one of my very best friends and I know we were more than best friends ever since we got out of college but we never made it official. I know he wasn’t satisfied with me dating Biff but both of us moved on with our separated, far from each other lives. And then the reunion happened, Puck and I reconcile and as much as he was [trying to be] happy for us, I know deep inside he wanted to be with me. At last, drunk Mike confessed to me. He felt like I was only using him, I wasn’t. He felt like i am choosing everyone but him,im not. He had every right to be mad at me, because we may not have the label but we were something. Both of us know it. No “best friends” would promise the world to each other, give each other kisses and go on dates even worlds apart, that’s not what best friends do. We know what we are, we were just scared to put the words into it or maybe I AM SCARED OF COMMITTING TO HIM.

Furious. I AM F.U.R.I.O.U.S! the people on yale changed my dormitory room number, switched me with someone else or something so now I have to “live” with a new student that who knows who!

I knocked on the door out of respect and to confirm I wouldn’t be seeing naked people on my room but no response so i keyed open the door and got in.

“Hello?” Still no response so i head to my room and fixed my stuff.

When i got out of my room, I noticed the other room’s door slightly open. There’s no way someone came in while I was fixing my stuff so I peeked through the door and saw a topless guy sleeping. I can’t really see him. I can only see his flawless,sweaty back. So i just ignore it and headed to the kitchen to organize the groceries i bought on my way here.

Suddenly the door behind me shuts, I turned around to see what’s up but there was nothing to see. The guy that was sleeping just shuts it and didn’t even say a thing.

Mike’s POV

It’s first day of college once again. My supposed short power nap turned into a long deep sleep. I can remember getting up to shut my door’s room but I went back to bed and accidentally falls back to sleep. I didn’t notice if there was already someone else in my dorm but going by the organized kitchen that wasn’t really organized when i first came,i can tell there’s already someone else here.

I went to my first class which is anatomy and physiology and it’s surprisingly interesting but mind draining. I was about to go to the cafeteria to grab a lunch when a group of folks’ laugh came out in one room on my way, I follow the sound with my eyes and I saw a familiar face.

It’s Quinn Fabray!……but brunette?

I take a double look if I’m actually seeing right. And I can’t be wrong it really is Quinn. Next to a guy. They’re sitting far back side of the room, just them. And when I caught myself paying too much attention, I walked away.

Quinn’s POV

I left the dorm without meeting my new roommate. I guess that would be our set up now? If he’s not sleeping, I am. It’s weird but I was really looking forward to meeting him but when I woke up today he already left. I know that because he left me a note on the fridge.

“Hello! I’m your roommate,Mike! Looking forward to meeting you today.”

That was cheesy and sweet. And that proves he’s new. People at Yale are nice but not this nice.

I missed my first class on my first day,amazing right? So i headed straight to my second one. I sat last row of the chair and Christopher sat next to me.

Christopher is the last person i would want to sit next to me but here we are. He’s nice and actually the “class clown” which is why I don’t wanna sit next to him.

“Brunette Fabrayyyy coming thruu baby” he randomly yelled and everyone laughed……including me.

“Hahahaha what was that” I asked hitting his arm jokingly

The room was filled with laugher ever since. And while I’m busy trying Chris to stop teasing me about newly dyed hair, I saw a familiar face by the door.

It’s Mike! I can’t be wrong I know everything about that man. By the back of his neck to his little toe! I’m sure it was him. So i immediately stood up and chase the man that was once standing by the door.

By the time I reached the door he’s already so far from our room but I still ran for him. I grab his arm and accidentally surprised him.

Gasping for air, I muttered “Mi- Mike” and so he turned around and our eyes remet.

Quinn’s POV

30 minutes in,Any minute now Mike is arriving to pick me up for our first date as a couple. “Couple” that’s a funny cute word! Somebody pinch me. Me and Mike couple? It still feels surreal. Getting deep into those thoughts I didn’t notice I was looking crazy smiling in front of the mirror,when a car honk burst my bubble i jumped in surprise.

I stepped out of my house and greet Mike as he waits outside his car.

“Looking good fabray” He greeted me, he’s a little too red. Is it because it’s hot I wonder

“You’re not so bad Chang!” I replied and gave him a kiss

He opened the car door for me and once i’m all set, he enters and drives the car

“Where are you taking me Mr.Gentleman?” I asked facing him

“Somewhere only I know” He giggled.

“Oh yeah? Will we watch the new spider man movie?”

“Hahahahah you know me too well” he laughed

He’s been meaning to watch that movie since forever but he said he wants to watch it with me. Pretty weird choice of movie if you ask me since it’s not a romantic one but I still find it cute because he really never watch it until I said yes to him. Yes to the movie and Yes to be his girlfriend.

When we arrived at the mall, we headed to the movie place, buy some snacks and enter the theaters. Mike and I are like little children excited to watch our favorite superhero. When we found our seats a running kid tripped and accidentally pour me his apple juice. It was so sticky and it poured all over my little dress. I was mad but i tried to keep my composure. Mike on the other hand was scolding his parents already, and his parents were very apologetic for what happened.

“Hey it’s okay it’s just a little accident” I told Mike who’s still giving the parents the stare

“No it’s not. Not only your dress got ruined,the kid’s got little scratches on his arm too”

I face the kid and found out that he really got some scratches on his arm. Mike is so damn attentive,I didn’t even notice that. Also very caring of him to not only think about me but the kid too.

When the kid and his family said their apology once again and left,we took our seats. I wiped some tissues to my dress to dry it off. Mike take off his jacket and gave it to me.

“No it’s okay. I’m not cold,thank you” I humbly rejected his offer

“Put it above your lap,under the dress so you wont feel it’s wet” He said

I accepted the jacket and did exactly what he told me.

“Thank you! You know what, that kid’s lucky it’s apple juice. I love apples so I let it go but god knows what I could do if it’s something else”

“Hahahah what about if it’s bacon?” He jokingly asked

“Damn why would a kid have bacons in theater and I don’t?”

We laughed and the lights turned off,sign that the movie is about to begin Mike noticed how I’m still so uncomfortable with my wet dress.

“Hey i’ll just go to the toilet for a sec, i’ll be back before you know it” he said and winked

“But the movie is about to begin!”

“Don’t worry i’ll be very quick! Don’t miss me too much” He said and left me a kiss on the cheeks

A good 15 minutes of the movie passed and Mike still hasn’t returned,I’m started to get worried and started to look around when he popped out and took a seat

“Hey where have you been? You missed a lot!” I asked,a little confused and concerned

“I had a hard time choosing between the dresses outside but I got you a little apple prints” He whispered,giggling a little

“You think you’re being funny huh?” I said a little too loud

Everyone’s eyes are on me and I was so embarrassed, I hid my face to Mike’s chest

“Great now we look like a couple having divorce” he joked wrapping his arms around me

We finished the movie with me still laying on his chest. It was then i realized it’s now my favorite place to chill, aside from my bed and couch obviously.

When the theaters’s lights turned on I checked out the dress that Mike got me. Surprisingly it’s a very cute dress with a little apple prints on it.

“Hahahahah really funny an apple dress really?”

“I was debating if I should get that one or the bacon one….”

“What!? The bacon one! Always get the bacon one” i interrupted him

“-but i chose that one because you’re the apple of my eye” he said jokingly rolling his eyes

“So you got me this for a punch line?” I giggled. “Okay that was cute! You’re very cute thank you”

“Oh why thank you Madam, you’re very beautiful yourself too” he said leaning in for a kiss.

Soft lips. God. He’s so gentle to me. I love this man.

“Thank you.” I told him

“For the kiss? Damn my pleasure miss fabray” he teased

“Hahahhaha no! I meant this, the dress, the movie, everything. It’s one of the best days of my life. You just treat me like….. a queen”

“I’m treating you the way you should be treated. And it’s the best feeling being with you so I should be the one thanking you”

My heart! Holy shit! My stomach! Butterflies. My mind went blank and my heart beats faster after he said those words.

He got up and helped me got up from my seat too.

“So is apple your favorite fruit?”

“Now that you buy me this dress,It sure is” i teased him. “No I think bananas are my favorite but I can’t live without apples.”

“What a weird way of saying i love bananas and apples equally” he teased

“No! Stop! I really love bananas but i have this weird habit that i got up in the middle of the night and I can’t go back to sleep unless i have a bite of apples”

“Are you serious?”

“Yes at first it was cute and all but sometimes it got in the way with my schedule, but don’t worry I asked my doctor about it and she said that’s just my body living up to the saying “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”” I said laughing

“But maybe when you sleep with this apple dress you’ll forget about your thing with apple in the middle of the night” he teased

“I guess we’ll find out” I said and head to the toilet to change my dress

I went out and Mike stared at me for a good minute before saying

“It wasn’t always bacon,i knew it. Apples suit you too” He said leaning in and gave me a kiss on my cheeks near my ear that tickled me

“Aw that tickles!”

“You look wonderful,babe” he whispered

“Oh stop let’s head home now?”

“Okay”

We decided to hang out at his place, and have dinner there. He insisted to cook for me. And not gonna lie it was the best chicken & pasta i’ve ever had. Is there something this man can’t do?

I was about to leave when we realized it was raining cats and dogs outside. I said i’ll just wait for it to stop, i wouldn’t want him to drive back at his home raining in the middle of the night by himself. But we waited and waited but the rain isn’t stopping and even got stronger the thunder is starting to scare me.

Mike brought out some extra pajamas for me. Hahaha this is so big for me but it’s comfortable and it has his smell on it so i’ll take it i thought to myself,blushing a little.

“Hahaha my pjs are so big on you! But you look good my love” Mike said when he saw me

“I know but I love it”

We headed to bed and no nothing happened okay? We really just slept.

I woke up around 2 am the rain had stopped already and Mike is sound asleep. I was about to go to the kitched to check if he got some apples when i saw the apples in the plate above the little table in his room. Beside it is a little note “Apples prepared with love! -Mike”

That’s when i got emotional over an apple! How could this man be so perfect?

I went to the toilet to pee and noticed his wet pajamas. It was then I realized he doesn’t have apples on his fridge and went outside in the middle of the night, when it was raining to buy me some apples.

I quickly went back to bed and gave him kisses.

“Hey kiss thief” he yelled

“Have i ever told you I love you”

“I love you way more” he said, gave me a kiss

Parting our lips for air. I snuggled into his arm and close my eyes.

Fuck I am madly in love with this man. And I know it’s too early for this but I can already picture out our future together. With our future kids. Growing old together,all that. It’s weird but if it’s not with Mike, I don’t want it.

Quinn’s POV

It was my first night back in Paris, i arrived 3 hours ago. I napped and had a rest before i tried to call mike but he didn’t answer, he must’ve been busy handling new comers for his dance class so i just left him a text saying “call me back whenever you can!”

I am here in Paris to join Ms.Mercedes perform tomorrow night. Paris is one of her first stops for her world tour and i am one of her special guests alongside Santana and Brittany. An Unholy Trinity reunion! We’re all excited and very nervous about it but we try to just make the most out of our time since it was also a long time ago since we last perform together. Mike and some of our other high school friends are supposed to go on tour with us but then there’s a conflict with their schedules, And mike had to put his teaching first so he humbly turned down Mercedes’ offer. It was understandable but i still hope he’d come with us,its gonna be 10x better if he did.

In my room i sat down in front of the vanity,30 minutes after i sent the text Mike called me back in FaceTime. I answered and there goes mike,all smiles.

Mike: hello you! Sorry i left my phone in the locker that’s why i wasn’t picking up

Quinn: yeah i figured! how are you? *pouting my lips and making a sad face*

M: i’m good and very tired i taught the beginners earlier! how was Paris? *he simply said ignoring my sad face*

Q: i’m good b ut i miss you. I wish you came with us

M: nah #clingyfabray is back?? *he said laughing*

Q: *i rolled my eyes* don’t make me hang up!

M: Haha! I miss you too! It’s just that it was barely a day when you flew. We’ve been away with each other for just 3 hours…..i think….

Q: well it feels FOREVER! plus brittana was with us remember? All they do is P.D.A all day,it’s annoying!

M: you’re just jealous because they have each other and you’re alone *he said teasing me even more*

Q: omg i hate you! I didn’t even know why i called you! You do this all the time. I never tease you when you call me saying you miss me!

M: that’s because you always miss me first

Q: that’s not even true!

M: and who called who first today?

Q: Me! But that doesn’t mean-

M: HAHAHHAHA see!!?

Q: UGH! I HATE YOU!! and so what if i miss you first! That only means i truly care and love you! Unlike you….

M: Unlike me what? Me that never calls you and says that i miss you because unlike you i make a way to actually see you?

Q: what do you mean?

*I heard the door behind me opening and when i turned around to check it out, I saw Mike with his proud smirk,carrying backpack and a baggage on his left hand and his phone on the other.*

M: should i end the call now? I can’t bare the distance and the phone calls i want hugs-

I jumped out of excitement,ran and hug him so tight before he can even finish his sentence

“I hate you!! Why didn’t you tell me you are on your way here- No, why didn’t you take the same flight as me?!”

“Well i guess not telling you was kinda necessary since this is a surprise” he laughed and i tighten the hug even more “ouch! Ouch” he complained. I let go of the hug and turned a serious face.

“No seriously why didn’t you booked for the same flight? We could’ve had a nice time at the plane together” i asked in a very disappointed voice

“I had to go back to the dance studio and fix everything since i’ll be gone for a long time” he said putting down his back pack.

“A long time?” I asked a little confused.

“Yeah isn’t this a World Tour i’m signing up for?”

I screamed and jump as I realized and hug him again, and we almost lose balance.

“No waaaay no wayyy!!!”

“Shhhhhh”

“Ssshhhh or what” I said competitively

“Shhhh or i will kiss you” Mike jokingly said with his chin up

“Don’t dare me Mike Chang! I will literally scream at the top of my lungs he-”

*He quickly but softly held my face and gave me a kiss on the lips*

“I miss you so much but please dont get us kicked out here”
