||: At this point, Shigure was too tired to care where he slept. It wasn’t like the cold, hard ground was going to be any more inviting than a tent full of Velouria’s treasures, even if they were considered garbage to most of the other members of the army. However, Shigure was too good natured to admit that he didn’t care one way or another, and thus he (somehow, in spite of his exhaustion) managed to come up with an excuse that didn’t sound nearly as dismissive as the truth was.
“It’s not garbage.” He replied with a sigh. “After all, isn’t the value of an object decided by its owner? You’ve heard the saying that ‘one man’s trash is another man’s treasure’, correct? If you think it’s valuable, then it’s valuable.” After giving a loud yawn, Shigure continued, feet plodding along back to the camp on autopilot as he spoke. “Besides, as long as I’m not going to sleep on a bed of burrs digging into my back, I’m sure it will be comfortable enough for me to get enough rest.” The last thing he needed was waking up in the middle of the night because of a piece of glass poking him in the back through his tunic.
Finally, the two of them had made their way back to the camp proper. Because it was the middle of the night, the only person out and about was the night patrol. They gave a quick glance over at Shigure and Velouria to make sure they weren’t Hoshidans sneaking into the camp, but after that brief check in, the two were alone to go wherever they pleased, as the guard had immediately recognized the two as being on the Nohrians’ side (though Shigure’s Hoshidan styled attire did give a bit of a start at first).
Once they were cleared to go, Shigure finally lumbered the rest of the way back to Velouria’s tent with her in tow. Almost immediately upon entering, his nose was accosted by a robust, earthy scent that had to be emanating from the Wolfskin girl’s vast collection of treasures. However, he did his best to ignore the smell, as the last thing he wanted to do at a time like this was look like a hypocrite. That short speech he gave about ‘one man’s trash is another man’s treasure’ would have been rendered completely invalid if he made a comment, surely.
And so, he finally laid down after finding a spot where he would be comfortable and stared up at the ceiling of the tent. He hadn’t quite fallen asleep yet, just in case there was anything else that Velouria wanted to say before calling it a night, but he didn’t think he’d be able to withstand too much more talking. Then again, it had looked like Velouria was at the end of her energy as well, so he didn’t really expect her to start prattling on for ten minutes or anything like that.
