A Perspective...

"You know something is wrong when parents in a free democratic society have to teach their Black sons and daughters to be very careful when disrespectful, racist White police officers confront them. They are told you don't talk too fast and you can't talk too slow and you must behave yourselves. We never tell our children how to act when a Black cop pulls them over. In many cases when a Black cop stops them, the first thing many of them say with an attitude is, "Why are you pulling me over? Y'all should be out fighting drug dealers." But many of us would never say that to a White cop. The relationship between Black folks and many White cops in this country is so far out of hand, and at some point we Black folks have to start taking some of that blame. We let police brutality run rampant through our community. There are thousands of Black police officers across this country. When have you ever read in the newspaper that a Black cop handcuffed a White person and shot them in the back of the head? Do you think that the Black cops are not committing police brutality against White folks because they are more spiritual or better trained? No, they don't mess with White folks because they know that the White folks won't tolerate it, plain and simple. When we Black folks decide that we are not going to tolerate police brutality, then it will stop. There's something wrong with a people who have more fear for their enemy than they have love for their children. We have to understand and say to America that enough is enough. We can say it through commerce and shut this country down."....
