I believe we all journey through life longing to hear these words; to know that we have a place that we belong. . I have spent time wishing to belong. Do you know what was the secret to finding my way into community and deeper friendships? Looking for other women who felt alone and needed a champion, a big sister, an encouraging friend. And even though I still felt alone, I poured my life into 3 women who needed to know that they belonged. . My situation and feelings didn’t change overnight. Surprisingly those 3 women didn’t become the community I was looking for. I helped them find wings to fly on their own and believe in themselves. They helped me to see the community around me. I had a newfound ability to be present and believe in my own worth. . Take a minute to think of someone you can “save a seat for”. Radical trust. These words have been echoing in my heart for a month. I’m on the cusp of a big adventure. Truthfully, it’s super scary for me. It means some big life changes and risks that my Type-A self is wrestling with. But ultimately isn’t that where adventure is found? Right at the edge of the unknown.
