street corner, drug party, or in a bakery

honestly all the same to me

cause someone gets to see

you there - crazy to think how i used to care

count the times in my head I might

see you again

off chance fantasy, though

calculated (madness? not madness

I sat two years in helpless

sadness)

a little extra enthusiasm for planning

anything that

feels like your thing

a universe thing

the kind of place to be running

into you

or who you used to be

to me.

A forced encounter, no way out

a now there's no way of letting me go

without taking accountability

close your eyes and your mouth

but when you're unprepared

you'll be seeing me

(whatever that means, maybe i just hoped

for you to reflect my reality of existence

back at me without a doubt

because I doubted, when you shut down

if it's easy like that for anyone

that i have ever known)

but nothing-

no chance to show you

how over you I was

or how i truly only was

once I stopped gambling

with the universe or

imagining you, anywhere.

so we may as well be

a half universe apart

forever.
