Question regarding the satellite ending:

This has been bugging me but during the satellite ending, Nic and his friends go to Earth at the end and live normal lives there as said in the game. How are the SAPU members (especially Alex as the phonecall with Nic made it seem like this was just normal life for him) chill with living on this Earth?Since you said SAPU members are from a completely different reality than Nic's (I'm assuming the Earth Nic and his friends landed on was Nic's reality since he was back in his home). Or is it like Nic exists across all realities because he's like a god or something? If this is explained in Nashbored or the home or ufo ending or something please don't answer this question. Thanks :)

Only Nic remains on Earth, at his apartment. As he states, everyone went their separate ways, which means that the SAPU members most likely went back to New Hinansho, bringing other party members with them. However, due to the technology available to them, they are still able to contact Nic on his version of Earth.

Hi! Really big fan of your work and especially psychopomp.

I wanted to ask if people are allowed to post and make theories around game screenshots and vids you posted on discord. Even if it's currently closed but people still can join there. I saw some things from there were already added to the psychopomp wiki but I need to know to not get something wrong.

Yes, that is totally fine. I posted those with the knowledge that they would be seen publicly at that point. It doesn't count as 'leaking' or anything like that, so feel free to make theories based on them!

Just keep in mind that nothing there is final, so things may change drastically, or even be completely different in the final game!

What was Nash actually sick with on the satellite?

She never would find out. Chronic illness which worsened with time. Doctors would be unhelpful, and tell her it was just anxiety, or that she should come another time. Nothing would be found. By the end, Nash was in a lot of pain and a lot of malaise. The illness isn't what killed her, though.

hello! i sincerely apologize for bringing up the topic of old and unused sprites, but i'm very curious: what was the purpose of these sprites? in both games i've found a lot of things that have no explanation in-game.. i'm just thinking about how much the original concept of some scenes differs from the current ones.. have a good day!

The first sprite is Alex's old battle intro sprite, He would smile smugly as the battle begins. The second sprite is used in the final game, and appears when Alex fantasizes about the sheer energy on display in the engine room of the Satellite.

Hi I wanted to ask 3 things but if one isn't fit you can leave them out. Sorry.

- will psychopomp 2 be longer than the first game?

- will the third person camera available from the start?

- are ve getting a kaiju battle

-I'm not sure in terms of length. I won't be able to give an estimate until the game is close to finished. I CAN say that the game is certainly *bigger*, though.

-Third Person is the main default camera angle of this game. First Person will also be available as an option from the start.

-probably not, but I have considered it.

What’s the deal with Mechana’s arm?

I'm not sure.

As far as I know, it's a normal arm.

What constitutes the parameters for people obtaining Temprocal or Damicelle architypes? Does something have to align for it? is there certain personalities and or world views more likely to have either? What is the defining feature between a incarnation or simply a aspect of either god? How does this differ between psychopomp and dashbored? Sorry for all the questions but I have been the most confused about this in the universes!

Humans are different between games, and the Temprocal/Damicelle dichotomy only applies to the world of DashBored. They are not connected to other games.

Within the world of DashBored, all humans are created as parts of Temprocal and Damicelle's bodies. Essentially accretion of stardust or maybe "God dust" if you will.

As such, all humans have a differing accumulation of T/D amounts, which is both inherited, but also kind of random. At certain high amounts, Distortional powers would begin to manifest in a human.

I'm quite sure that bad players like SAPU would be interested in eugenic breeding programs to attempt to create strong distortions soldiers, but like real eugenics, I'm also certain that these would fail, mostly due to the whimsical and unpredictable nature of T/D inheritance.

The entire purpose of the Garden was to act as a giant "coffee filter" to drain and concentrate this T/D dust, to eventually create the pure components seen at the end of the game. "Unimportant" or forgotten people are kidnapped purposefully, though their T/D amounts may be low, it's important to not gain any unwanted attention by kidnapping any specifically powerful people.

There are no "incarnations" of Temprocal and Damicelle, though they themselves are incarnations of the moon and sun. Temprocal and Damicelle themselves are not specifically ur-gods or anything like that, they just represent particularly mature, advanced, and powerful Sun/Moon incarnations.

Humans in Psychopomp work entirely differently, they were born into the world through different means, and as such have different rules.

i’m not sure if you’ve discussed this before, but did you draw inspiration from moon rpg remix when making your games?

I've only played about 30 or so minutes of that game, so I can't say it has been a big inspiration or anything like that.

That being said, the game is really cool looking, so I'd love to play more one day!

That game also has a really wonderful OST, which I have listened to a good bit.

I'd say Mechana is about 23 or so.

i find the name nashbored really genius for a prequel about nash. was it always going to be called nashbored? or was there an original name for it?

Genuinely, It was originally going to be called A DashBored Christmas Special or potentially A Very DashBored Christmas but sometime in development I changed it to NashBored.

Are all somnosprites related to eachother? Or is Goutha being referred to as the Arcsprite's daughter a special case/non-literal thing

Goutha is the "First Daughter" of the Arcsprite because she was the Arcsprite's first creation. However, there is no direct biological process or relation involved.

As such, all of the Somnosprites are "children" of the Arcsprite, but in the "creation" way, rather than the "biological child" way, and are not related to each other, unless they were specifically created by the Arcsprite with that in mind.

ask Odd question but I was wondering if you were influenced by the Film, "Mad God" at all when making Psychopomp. It seems very stylistically similar!

I've never seen Mad God, but there's definitely some environmental inspiration from the similarly stop motion animated short film Junk Head 1, which I think looks really cool! There's also a lot of inspiration from the film Testuo: The Iron Man in all of my games.

Is there any particular reason Venus is so out of it in the intro of the instructions level?

The other areas of the game leading up to that point all have real world analogues, ones that she is able to think about and riff on. Things like a Water Treatment Plant or a Public School are commonly grasped concepts, and because of that she has a lot of thoughts on them and their relation to society. Even Hard Structures, for how bizarre it is, hearkens to the idea of endless construction, and how people are ultimately displaced in the pursuit of more and more of said development.

However, the DNA Facility is where things first become completely otherworldly. It is not a place that exists in any way that we know of. She is caught off guard and deeply disturbed by the concepts being shown to her, and her confidence in her understanding of the world is wavered. The conspiracy theory spirals out of control, and the conspiracy moves to suit it. The very flesh we reside in becomes oppressive.

This continues on into Symbols, where even concepts and thought itself are laid bare, and presented as another form of imposed structure. There, she has nothing to say at all. Moving closer and closer to the death of the ego before eventual apotheosis.
