Look. I know my username is fae. And fae are usually thought of as stately and tricky and mysterious and other. And as much as I would love to be that... I'm not. I am fae as in I am a gremlin. I have zero chill. I will come up to you bouncing on my weird little gremlin toes and show you my newest stolen treasure. I will make flower crowns and perch them on my weird little gremlin ears or give them to the bog king. I will stick out my tongue to catch a firefly. I will not be stately. Or mysterious. I might still be tricky, cuz that's kinda how all fae are. And I'm DEFINITELY other... As in, not like any other person you've ever met. I'm weirder. I'm fae in all the worst ways and you cannot stop me. Anyway. Just wanted to throw that out there.

K I have no idea if you'll see this, I literally just looked for a relationship advice blog and I am a sapphic aroace so you seem like the perfect person to get it from.

There's this girl in my circle, we're both from Christian backgrounds but I'm getting bi vibes and she's super cool, I would absolutely ask her out if not for the dear of outing myself. However we've gone on a few coffee "dates" and we have another one tomorrow. If I bring her flowers, do you think I both open the door to ask if it's a date date while still having plausible deniability? Please Tumblr stranger I need help 😭

That being said, I’d say flowers seem like a good move. They’re generally considered to be more romantic/relationship-esque, so if that’s wanted, it’ll probably be recognized as such. If it’s questioned and she doesn’t seem receptive, you can just say you thought she’d like them. (Bonus points if you include lavender, violets, or any other queer associated flower. Most people probably wouldn’t notice, especially those not in community, but it’d be cool if she did)

I’d also say figure out how she thinks about queer people in general if possible (you could mention a queer friend/family member to test the waters (I’ve had someone make up a fake gay sister to see if I was cool with it)), as that makes outing yourself much less of an unknown risk.

Take all this with a grain of salt, my idea of subtlety when seeing if my partner was interested involved planning our future house together.

When I lived in London there was a murder of crows that lived near me. I fed them often, they brought me presents (shiny rubbish and cigarette butts they found on the floor to thank me.)

When I moved, I’m certain they understood I was leaving because I had all my stuff and gave them lots of food and compliments.

But, they chased down my friend who lived in the next burrough over. They had recognised that friend with me several times and followed them to their house when they couldn’t find me.

They adopted my friend and it was now my friend’s job to bring them snacks and receive the presents.

This was maybe 6-7 years ago.

I visited London last year. Went to see my friend. The crows all not only recognised me, they tracked me down. We got into my friend’s flat and not twenty minutes later there was chaos on the balcony.

We open the curtains, the entire fucking murder is there shouting because they wanted to see me.

Crows are the very best birds.

I subscribed to UNNAMED STREAMING SERVICE a few days ago and gave the login info to all my friends, as one does, but one of them went in and turned on 2-factor authentication and set the phone number to her own cell phone, locking me out of the account

It's wild coming from a household where people would go "well we're not going to cancel everything and ruin everybody's day just because you're feeling uncomfy" when all you wanted was to be allowed to go lie down for a minute because you're sick, to living around people who'll go "okay let's wrap shit up and go home, you're sick" when you were still pretty sure you can manage if you just go lie down.

Also did y'all know that playing up your symptoms for pity and attention is a completely different thing from just not going out of your way to hide your symptoms. Like apparently those are two different subjects. It's not manipulative to be visibly unwell when you're visibly unwell.
