Costume for Michelle Pfeiffer’s Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (1999)
Kati Szalon, Hungarian fashions
(multi) Mother’s home.
Mab hummed to herself softly as she finished off the rest of her human looks and wards to avoid being detected as a fey, at long last she finally had all the ingredients together to brew a potion for a portal, for a banished fey like her it was hard to gather the potion ingredients needed.
After the last time that she had tried to overthrow Titania and Oberon she had been banished to the outskirts of the realm, a dark place with knarled, thorny vines growing wildly and blocking out most sun light.
only the darkest of fey beasts and the mosed cursed of the fey themselves lived here and Mab had grown quite fond of her new realm. She’d made herself a dark castle out of rubble and ruin that she’d found around, broken down bits of the homes of the ancients who once inhabited this part of the realm long before Oberon or Titania, longer than any humans anyway. Mab had done everything she could to raise a good strong home so she could finally go and get her children! Mab glanced at the photograph on her vanity of her and her family, Harper was so young and Ben was barely still a babe himself, their father smiling brightly at them and she kissed a finger pressing it to the photograph
“You can’t keep me from them forever, can you love?” Mab asked with a wicked grin across her face before she strolled out fathering her things as she went into what would someday be a beautiful garden, it was getting closer as her powers were growing, black roses were currently the only things that would grow from these viscious vines that surrounded her home but soon her portal opened before her and she saw the quiet forest surrounding seacoast that she had loved to explore so long ago. she stepped from teh portal and frowned seeing that Shakespeare’s home was still darkening these woods as well as a new one, no matter. even if they detected the portal (Which judging by the shouting from the cottage they definitely had) they would never connect it to her.
Mab headed out humming softly still to herself a haunting melody that had it not been for the wards she was forced to place on herself weakening most of her other abilities would have enchanted those around her who were weak minded.
Walking the streets of the city it was as if she had never left, she remembered the way there as if she’d walked this way every day of her life. She found the apartment and the listing that still had their family name on it and a loving smile crossed her features as she rang the bell no longer having a key for the front door.
Harper had just woken up from her ‘in between shifts’ nap and checked the doorbell cam and practically choked on water seeing just who stood at the door, her blood running absolutely cold as she immediately grabbed her phone and called Max
“Max you need to send someone to my apartment, Now.”
Rohan nodded
“I’ll see you soon” he promised before he headed out he gathered an iron sword and dagger just in case as well as a pistol, iron or not it would do as a last resort should his skills fail him. It had been quite a while since he had done any real field work but he couldn’t sit behind a desk forever either
Rohan headed off knowing if an unclosed fey circle that lottie had been playing with but not telling anyone

Adrienne nodded agreeing with him
“alright pick for now we play by your rules” Adrienne said to him the quicker they got permission to explore the quicker they got to will anyways
Puck lead the way hurrying along he too wanted to save Will and quickly so, the longer anyone not fey or of fey blood was in the Feywild the more danger they were in. He also feared what Mab would have in store for Will and Ben. He motioned to the guards. “Out of the way! Out of the way! We have to see her majesty and his majesty!” He saw Titania. “Let us in please! It’s Will! Mab has Will! She has his mind all twisted! I saw it with my own eyes! He thinks himself king!”
Oberyn sat up from his throne at hearing Will and was seated more so when he heard what followed. “Well that was quite the mouthful. Now who are, well I know two of the women with you but the girl, dear why does she seem so familiar?”
Titania looked up hearing puck shouting and raised a brow
“let them through,” titania ordered motioning for them to come forward the guard tried to take Harper’s bat but Adrienne leveled him with a terrifying glare and he thought better of it letting them pass. Adrienne took a knee before the king and queen and harper followed her example before she stood again
“we’re sorry for bothering you, but mab escaped her banishment, she’s taken Will Shakespeare and my brother hostage, hearing what she’s done to will it makes me worry about what she might have done to him. Please I just want your permission to explore your kingdom so I can find them” Harper said Titania raised a brow as she looked the girl over before she smiled
“you know oberyn, she is the spitting image of her mother a few hundred years ago” Titania pointed out and she was slightly amused with the way Harper’s grip tightened in her peculiar weapon
Oberyn leaned in to Titania and grinned, “what a different time that was. By all means if it means rescuing Will and the boy Ben save them.”
Jane stood from where she kneeled. Is there any likely place that we might find Mab?
Titania shrugged
“the borderlands no doubt it’s where we send all those who are banished, if they can survive the horror creatures who live out there then you’ll likely find them, mab was never one to be taken out easily”
“Likely has turned around and made it a court of her own.” Oberyn who continued to sit so very comfortable. He chuckled. “Look at her so feisty, just like her mother.”
-
“Your Majesty,” a dark fey guard came before Will who was happily munching on grapes.
Will motioned for them to speak.
“You’re wife has been spotted being taken to the court of Titania and Oberyn.”
Will stood, “then we must make sure she is saved from their clutches.” He tossed aside the grapes to the platter and motioned to a servant. “Prepare my horse.”
“Yes sire.” The boy ran off.
“Ready my armor as well!”
Harper’s jaw set as she held her tongue and tried her best to not say anything, get were easily insulted and she needed them to cooperate to find Ben. They liked will and she didn’t have to worry about him but Ben was another story, they had no obligation to her brother.
“let’s go start there, preferably now” Harper said turning to Jane and Adrienne not wanting another moment in this place if they were going to continue to speak about her in such a way
“I will accompany them.” Puck said. “So that they have a fey representative.”
“Very good.” Oberyn smiled. “Enjoy your time in our kingdom.”
-
Will rode upon his unicorn it was a twisted version of one, one corrupted from being in the darker side of the fey, there was almost a purple hue that came from it emanating like an aura. The dark hair of its main and body gleaming like obsidian. Will rode forth to meet with his beloved and find the reason she had left him.
Adrienne stood thanking the king and queen and steering Harper out so that the girl wouldn’t be able to say anything to the king and queen, even when they were on the same side the fey seemed to be just as annoying as she remembered
“puck!” Aurelia called seeing him as she hurried down the hall towards them looking cheerful as ever when she realized it was Jane and harper as well she quickly hugged Jane
“Jane! It’s so good to see you! What brings you?”
“Mab has Will and Ben, she has cursed his mind, according to Puck.” Jane hugged Aurelia carefully. “It is good to see you! Hopefully the next time will be under better circumstances.” Smiling sadly, “and perhaps with Will.” Jane worried for the fate of her husband. There was no telling what the future held.
Aurelia frowned
“oh that’s horrible! What can I do? How can I help?”
“by staying here and staying safe” Titania cut in quickly “my darling I commend you for facing the other realm to find me but the outskirts are far to dangerous for you” Titania told her Aurelia frowned a bit
“but they need help!”
“they have Puck”
“but it’s will!”
“and will Shakespeare is far stronger than many give him credit. They will be fine.” Titania said glancing back at her husband with a stern look silently telling him to back her up
Aurelia turned her best princess puppy face to her father for the same reason, two could play this game
“Oberyn looked from one to the other. Aurelia,” his last look fell to Titania. “Your Mother is right, it is too dangerous. But you can look on the scrying orb and let us know if they need help.”
Jane smiled, “Maybe next time the twins need a babysitter you can give Puck the night off and see to them?” She suggested for Aurelia.
Puck smiled at Aurelia, “it is far more dangerous and Mab wouldn’t hesitate to hurt you Princess. She is crazy.”
Aurelia huffed angrily as Titania looked to her daughter
“my dear-”
“when am I going to not be a child to you? Anyone else my age is having adventures or getting engaged but I’m still a little girl who needs her parents permission to help her friends” Aurelia said to them glaring before she stormed off
Titania sighed and looked to Jane
“I’ll bring it up to her after her tantrum is over” Titania said to her
Jane nodded, “we should get going. Will and Ben shouldn’t wait any longer than they have whether they are of their minds or not.” Jane found a holder for her iron fire poker in the royal armory picking up some armor. “Hope you don’t mind, things could get tricky we all should don armor.”
“Take the horses in the stable, whatever you need to help Will is at your disposal.” Oberyn called after them.
Titania nodded her agreement
"when he returns we will have a banquet in your honor, can't have you leaving without celebrating" Titania said happily Adrienne looked at her suspiciously
"oh not like the time we tried to make you two stay, we'll have Aurelia cook so it will be more suited to your mortal standards"

Until we meet again...(will&Titania)
Time passed so differently here from the Fey world it was hard to keep track of, usually she was quite good at it but this time it had slipped from her.
Titania had been enjoying her time alone, big CEO of a company, it did many different things and well today she had a meeting with an old friend. When a manuscript was plopped on her desk for the publishing part of the company she hadn't been eager to read it until she spies the familiar alias of the bard and her entire being seemed to brighten.
William-goddamn- Shakespeare was applying for her company? Oh it was to sweet an opportunity to pass up! Her secretary set up the appointment right away and began pouring over the gift bestowed upon her, the first to read Shakespeare latest novel!
She read it for days but by bit wanting to savor such writing that was rare to see in this day and age and when she nearly was finished she was more than a little annoyed to hear a knocking at her door before she remembered it was her meeting with the bard himself
"Mrs. Lockwood, you're twelve o'clock is in the conference room" the perky little blonde told her, Titania grinned at her
"thank you Tiffany," she said before she strolled into the room even when not in her own world the queen walked with poise and intimidating grace that still let her look like she could murder you with a glance.
"well now I have to say. Surprise you're writing again" she said with a smile in her face as she leaned over the chair across the long conference table that separated them
"I'm a little disappointed that you took do long to call me John....or should I call you will again?"
Titania laughed before she hurried off she needed to work some things out with Tiffany but was more surprised to see her office practically devoid of people afterwards as she looked around suddenly on her guard
"I see we have been busy haven't we Athena?" Titania barely had time to bring up a blade as it clashed with that of Ares and they stood attempting to over power the other
"I heard Demeter was buying our own con but I never expected you to be her lap dog" Titania told him her knee came up and caught him in the stomach before she pushed him back their blades clashing again
"I owe her a few favors, I wonder if she would like your pretty little daughter over you though?" Ares taunted Titania felt a rage she hadn't felt in many years as their blades clashed again and again. Ares threw her against the window
"come quietly or she will." He told her Titania glared
"you wouldn't dare,"
Hephaestus has a nice pair of iron cuffs picked out for her," Ares said he pulled away and motioned to the window Titania could only look as Aurelia stood on the curb with Puck awaiting Will and her heart sank upon seeing Hephaestus standing at the corner watching her and Puck and felt a burning rage that glared before it fizzled. Oberon was a strong man, he could last a little longer without her
"if I go with you and I find out anyone has hurt a hair on her head and I will slaughter anything left of Olympus" Titania threatened as Ares grinned at her triumphant
"you can't kill us Athena, we're gods."

Will had written the manuscript in secret only Jane had known and proof read. The necklace had lead them here and there was only one way to get in to see Titania. Thank God he had already written as much as he had. Finishing it wasn’t hard and getting the appointment had been. So when he arrived and was seated with a glass of sparkeling lavender water he knew he had come to the right place.
The door opened and he spied the familiar face of the Fae Queen. “Call you? It was a miracle getting my manuscript in.” He stood and beamed “How are you Titania?” They really didn’t have time for these pleasantries but if you didn’t then by the Fae’s rules you were rude. Will made his way dropping to a knee and pressing a kiss to her hand. “Will so long as no other hears it.” He made sure she saw his wedding ring in his movements so as to prevent her from possibly kissing him or mistaking his availability.
Titania saw, she was a queen of the fae how could she not see everything?
"Should I be offended I wasn't invited or was it a no ex bedmates occasion? Must have been a small wedding for the later" Titania told him with a slight Laugh though she was slightly disappointed she hadn't been able to attend
"I didn't know you were writing again, I'm thrilled to be the first to read it though, the bard lives again and all" she said with a laugh taking a glass of the sparkling water as well
“Puck was the one who was given the invitation but apparently you have been missing it seems, hard to receive an invitation at that point.” He smiled, “you can thank my wife for that, she encouraged me and helped me find my muse again. You know I write better when I have a muse,” though he had been a muse for a few people, Oscar Wilde, Bram Stoker, among others. “How did you find it?” He asked. Technically Jane had proof read the whole thing but he supposed that was different.
"missing?" Titania asked a bit confused "well I suppose disappearing for a few days should count after a big fight with your husband but no one's ever missed me before" Titania said shrugging as she took a seat but then he was asking about the manuscript again
"so far it's wonderful, I've only two chapters left before I finish and as always I'm dazzled but I'm disappointed in the lack of fey this Time"
“Days? Titania you know time between the worlds is different, it has been far longer than that. Your daughter lives in my home as my guest because she came to me for help in finding you. Your Husband has a rebellion to contend with because the fae populous has risen up believing you dead. Puck was sent Oberyn only sends Puck if he has too.”
Oh dear that was quite the debacle.... Titania frowned as she tried to do some calculations and shook her head
"damn mortals I still can't get your time right!" She cursed before she sighed and looked at Will
"i apologise for the trouble, Aurelia is a wonderful girl and I can compensate you for your troubles"
“She hasn’t been a problem, really your daughter, you should be proud she is so strong. She survived an apocalypse, found me, and helped find you. She is every bit your daughter.”
That brought more of Titania's attention, Aurelia must be angry with her if she had been gone this long and it made her disappointed in herself
"poor thing, she must have been petrified. I'm afraid in Oberon and I's attempt to protect her we might have sheltered jer a little much" Titania hated to think that her daughter had cime all this way to find her
“Perhaps but she has her Mother’s bravery and her Father’s fortitude. She found me.” Will looked to her. “I think it best we get you back to your realm if only to smooth things over and prevent Oberon from getting hurt.”
Titania nodded agreeing
"let me reschedule my appointments and place them with my alternate" Titania said to him
"it will be quick Tiffany is amazing'
Will nodded and sat drinking the lavender sparkling water. The sooner she was home the more at ease he would be.
Titania moved around the table to hug will tightly
"thank you for taking care of my daughter' she told him she was happy to know that Aurelia was in good hands
"She is an absolute dear, and is welcome back anytime as are you and Oberon once all is well." Will embraced her. "Jane wants to meet you both."
"I'll have to find you a proper wedding gift, you could always take puck he loves you" Titania teased as she released him and gathered her things
