He eyes Ithaca suspiciously, before turning to present his bare back to her with a sigh. When else would he have an opportunity like this again? Maybe, after all this time, he could finally find out what those damn markings said.

The infernal carvings on his back seemed to glow white in the moonlight, marred by a few fresh nail scratchings (curtesy of the fey before him). " Well? What do they say? " the vampire asked, peeking over his shoulder at her.

"Just a second! Don't wriggle." Ithaca shoots back hastily. As she says that, she doesn't look up from the recreation she's drawing in the dirt. Without keeping him waiting, she's trying to go as fast as she can yet the priority is to get it right. Had she thought about it, she would have grabbed a piece of parchment and lead instead. No matter, she can make do.

When the last line is drawn, the fae wipes the dirts from her fingers, nose crinkling just slightly. She doesn't move from where she kneels down though. "It's certainly not common or elvish...Not sylvan either..." she mutters. It's familiar in a way. But why? Or rather how?

"I can't read infernal." The words tumble out of her mouth before she even has a second to filter the thought.
