musings;
Almost seemingly out of nowhere, are you ever hit with a wave of inspiration that makes you stop whatever you're doing? Once upon a time the character Faeleanah used to be a human priest by the name of Diarlen. I played her for many years, since Cataclysm, and she was my first role-playing character. Her being my first, I learned a lot about rp and characters and the groove of things. I stopped rping and writing her during Legion. I shelved her and, honestly, planned to indefinitely.
Then she hit me out of nowhere this morning. The same character Diarlen, but different. Aged up a decade or so and less good. See, she was a good character. In hindsight, maybe too good. The kind of good that either made you eagerly want to get to know her, or roll your eyes and move on with little gray area between.
I could rewrite her past just slight, just enough to help push her forward, but keep all the meat of her story since Cata the same.
See, the older I get the more perfect characters bore me, and the more I appreciate real, ugly, and damaged characters.
This might become a thing. I might shelf Faeleanah here (because honestly I've done barely anything on/with her), and bring back my original oc.
