UPDATED*** Here are some app links for @valicorne​ and others who requested. They should all be free. Some of these are also in the Android Marketplace, and for those that aren’t, there are comparable ones.

And my mom has a baller sigil making app on Android I envy: Sigil Automatron. Anyone know of a comparable one for iOS? (I don’t want just a paint or photoshop-like app, but one specific To making sigils)

1. Tarot Card Memorizer: Pretty self explantaory. This is a nice reference when you’re trying to learn card meanings.

2. Pendulum Charts Free - a plethora of charts. I like using that on my iPad, not super useful on a smaller screen, aka my iPhone. Can also use to reference for making your own charts on paper, or woodburning like I’m working on.

3. Golden Thread Tarot - Really nice free eversion of great physical deck. Nice for witches on the go, or witches on a budget.

4. Crystals And Gems - Handy reference guide for both physical and metaphysical attributes.

5. Mighty Timer - temperature, time, and amount of tea you need for the perfect cup. Great kitchen witch app, especially if you grow some of your own herbs for tea, like I do.

6. TimePassages - Free daily horoscopes, meanings, planetary bodies glossary and then some paid options for chart downloads.

7. Herbs Guide - Herbs for health and cooking. ***never take any information found on the Internet or via apps as medical advice. Seek professional medical help if you have an issues. This witch is very pro-science and modern medicine, despite making teas, tinctures, and herbal salves. Those are merely supplements to help relieve symptoms.

8. Dreamboard - my favorite digital dream journal

9. Runes - pocket advisor - Get one, two and three rune readings. Also helps you learn the meanings of elder futhark runes. 10. SkyView Free -This overlays constellations and other astronomical information when you open the app and point it at the night sky. Uses your camera and GPS to know what it’s looking at. Works inside, too. I impress the heck out of people when I whip this out at stargazing events.

11. Best Essential Oils and Aromatherapy Guide Pro - This app, containing six broad sections - guides, application, single oil, oil blends, aromatherapy and weight loss. Again, this is not to be used in place of proper nutrition and medical attention, and be very careful when using essential oils. All need to be diluted with carrier oils, and some are dangerous if you’re pregnant, etc.

12. Spellcaster - tarot cards, horoscope and pre-written spells. Not my favorite, but fun to flip through.

13. Celeste -LOOOVE. Celeste allows you to calculate a natal chart, which you can view on a zodiac wheel. You also get a description of all the planets in signs, not just the sun sign.

14. Star Chart - This is similar to skyview. I haven’t played with it too much so I can’t vouch for it quite yet. I think I prefer the skyview interface.

15. Free Candle - Different candle options, and you cna blow them out. Great for on the go candle magick/meditation, and for those who aren’t allowed to use candles in apartments/dorms/etc.

16. The Pocket Pagan - “This unique Pagan app includes a map of the USA and Canada filled with Pagan, occult and New Age stores, a handy correspondence guide for quick magickal look-ups, and a calendar that shows you the next full moon and Sabbat dates. Quick links can help you find the latest news, blogs and videos too. One little widget shows the real-time moon phase too.”

17. Moon - current moon phase - Love this. Very simple interface for when you JUST want basic full, new, waxing, waning moon info.

18. Herbs in Magick - The application contains information about more than 200 herbs and their magickal use. No internet connection

Who are you to say what does and what doesn’t work? Witchcraft is highly individual and what does work for some people may not work for others, so it is incredibly unfair that you just put a big umbrella over every person and every emoji spell. Spells don’t have to be super big and elaborate to do what their makers want them to do. I completely agree with @torque-witch because saying what you said makes you a big poophead.

Emoji spells are valid; techno magic is new but paper and pencil used to be new, back when slate and chalk was the norm. People that are against it should probably get off the internet if technology is so offensive to them

People that don’t understand tech in magic probably just don’t understand how tech works. It’s cute when they say: it’s just code!! Just artificial! And it’s like. If you knew Anything about code you know it’s just a language between a human and a machine to let the machine knew when to use energy and when not to. You know why there’s binary code? Because it’s how things like iPhones and computers (called COMPUTErs for a reason because they compute this) use electricity in the little cells of their microchips. 1 means energy 0 means none and together a computer computes these combinations of energy and lack of energy to make logic to process things like programs, images, emojis. In magic we can use water, fire, smoke, dirt, air, metal, so many elements of the world around us but once we use electricity you get those witches that have no imagination that feel like witchcraft is only valid if its some earthy ancient traditional aesthetic come from no where. I’m not even a tech witch but I’m a graphic designer and I used to do web development and it’s fascinating to work in a field where you study how people use media, screens, electricity as a projection of their minds. There was one tech witch art I reblogged weeks ago (will link later I’m on mobile) that expressed how screens are like portals to another world, and as someone who used to design websites and who spends a considerable amount of time on a blogging site where people dedicate hours to creating their own personal realms that represent them through visual themes and posts that fit an aesthetic of either emotional, mental or visually pleasing images, screens to me, especially personal websites and blogs are like a more static physical representation of a world that reflects their creators mind. Screens are gateways to other worlds. Social media forums are like crossroads. Blogs are inner realms. Aesthetic image compilations are like spells or concepts that can’t be shared through words. And like anyway have you ever seen witches runes? Or like any modern new age sigils? A lot are corny. Birds (which look like a bunch of V’s) for escape, swirly wind for change, etc and you can put them together for meanings with combos. Like if that’s acceptable why can’t emoji spells be? Is it cause you only accept the aesthetic of something that looks like it was written with quill and ink in a decaying grimoire? Like would you feel better if someone hand drew every emoji in an old grimoire? Cause there’s a lot of runes that work the same way as emoji spells so I’m unsure of the difference.

I like the art Also another thing I forgot to add is that tech machinery are just tools and though it’s made up of processed material, a lot of tools that are magical are. Tarot cards can have sharp bitter smells or a chemical odor due to the plastic finish some companies seal their cards with. Colored candles are often not dyed with natural colors. 

 There are a lot of things that are processed that we use in modern craft because we have access to them and it’s fine. Plus things like computers and phones run on quartz. Processors can not function without a quartz crystal.  Here’s a pretty decent wiki article on Crystal oscillators found in a computer processor and Piezoelectricity. Piezoelectricity is an electric charge that’s in certain solid materials like crystals that can be accessed when mechanical stress is applied.  So yes thanks to the power of a crystal’s energy which you traditional judgmental ass witches love, we can communicate within digital realms and send each other emoji spells.

Toilet paper pill box.

Another small fun project for recycling! These are perfect for little gifts and a cute way to send your jewelry to customers… it not only give a nice shell of protection to the treasures you put inside, its cost free, customizable and keeps recycling on the mind <3

All you need are - toilet paper rolls - decor ( i used stamps) - Tape or glue

Step one: decorate your roll. I used some of my stamps, but don’t limit yourself to just that… you can use old paper, photographs, tissue paper, paint,sharpie and whatever else you have laying around to decorate. Mod podge and some pattered paper would be fun!

Step two: Once your roll is decorated to your liking, fold down the corners on one end, making it look like little cat ears. Make sure they fold over each other so there is no open gap, and tape down  ( you can also glue the end down) * side note… if you dont like the look of regular tape, they sell something called washi tape? that comes in all sorts of amazing patterns!

-Step three: When you have some side sealed and taped down, wrap and place your item/treasures inside the box ( i wrapped up some earrings) and seal the other end, again making sure they fold over one another so there are no gaps.

- Step four… your done!

Again these are wonderful for gift giving and product packaging. Small, sturdy, cheap, recycled pill boxes…. you can use old paper towel rolls too! those are larger and can fit a bit more than TP rolls.

My interest in plants extends beyond ‘oh look a pretty flower’ and straight into ‘plants are fucking metal.’ 

Evidently, you’re supposed to plant garlic in the same places as your roses because the garlic will repel a rose-specific aphid.

So what I’m saying is that between the romantic symbolism of the rose, the bloodmeal in the soil, and the fresh garlic all over the place-

You could really set yourself up for an encounter with some VERY pissed vampires.

Roses really love banana skins, too. Just… stick one in there before you plant a rose bush or spronkle around one that’s already in  the ground. They’ll adore you.

Once a week I bury a small amount of leftover meat in the soil.

My morning glories loved the crap out of the charred chicken bones I gave them. They’re already an enthusiastic plant, but the blooms I had this year were extraordinary.

That’s cool as heck. Is this all plants, or just specific plants? Inquiring witches want to know!

See, here we’re getting into soil chemistry, which is an entire doctorate of study and I only know a little bit above the average person. 

But the primary reason why bloodmeal is used for rose cultivation is because roses grow best in nitrogen-rich soil. So plants that need a lot of nitrogen in their soil would benefit from blood meal. Others, who do not benefit from high nitrogen, would not fair well. So I would not use it on the entire garden. 

Bones/bone meal are used to add phosphorus to the soil, which is why its used as a fertilizer. Generally, most plants benefit from it, but that’s not guaranteed. Crushed eggshells provide the same treatment, with the added bonus of deterring ants. 

Coffee grounds will make the soil more acidic. 

Ashes of hardwood trees will fix soil if it’s been overwatered. I think it serves as another nitrogen fixer, but don’t quote me on that. 

I’d have to take a look in one of my books before I say anything else, but there’s tons of materials that double both as soil fixers and offerings.

I don’t really know what people generally call this method of sigil making, so I’m just calling it “Letter Shaping” because you’re using the basic shapes from certain letters. This is the most common form of sigil making, and it allows the most creative influence. As you see above the sigils are for nearly the same thing, yet the sigils came out completely different. Not because the purpose was different, but because I approached them both a different creative way, and that’s what I like so much about this method. There’s a lot of freedom and personalization involved.

Forget Ouija boards get yourself a Planchette.

Back in the 1850’s before Ouija boards had been invented if you wanted to speak to the spirits or obtain a reading. Our ancestors reached for their planchette.

The Planchette consisted of a small board on which paper was fastened and a separate paddle on casters with a pen. The people placed their hands on the paddle and started “Auto Writing”, writing without thought. The plan was that the spirits would guide the hands to deliver a message. Although most of what was produced was rubbish, the medium would review their scribbles and determine the messages.

With the invention of the Ball point pen, anyone can now try this method of divination.  If you have not had any luck with other methods why not give auto writing a go, you might discover a hidden talent.

You can make a planchette from almost anything so long as it hold the pen and moves to allow writing. If you are lucky you might even be able to locate an original one in the back of the attic.
