“Few come all the way to the Unseelie Court for their desires - what brings you to my realm?”

secret burning thread | gwen + kellan | event: 10 years later
They had decided to meet at a spring they were both particularly fond of - the message was passed via implicit communications in the last official meeting held for negotiations between the Seelie and Unseelie; they had a standing date every fortnight - although date was not quite the right word. It was more an open ended invitation for a secret rendezvous that neither was obligated to attend. But divulging the location was always a complicated task since they couldn’t lie if they were ever caught. While magic came to Gwen more effortlessly than it did Kellan, lies came to him with ease - or as close to a lie a faerie could get. It was harder for her, though she was technically the Dark Queen, but then she and Kellan had always made an interesting juxtaposition.Â
The moon was high above and a good half hour had passed after the time they had set to meet. Gwenaelle took a deep breath then unreservedly removed her finely woven robes to slip into the still waters. She didn’t remove the circlet of ivory lilacs settled atop her head, though her raven locks hung loose against her back as she stands waist deep in the pool. A sigh escaped parted lips as she moved forward, till the water reached her shoulders, and the damp curls that splayed outwards were almost invisible against the inky backdrop of the spring reflecting the night sky. A slight rustling sound in the thrush alerted the Unseelie queen of another presence and she turned, head tilted and dark eyes alight with mischief.Â
Almost lazily, she willed the the vines of the surrounding trees to reach towards the figure, tugging at the visitor’s clothes with playful insistence as he drew nearer. “I thought you would have beaten me here,” she said as greeting, teeth flashing like pearls in the low light. “But I’m sure you have an excellent reason for keeping me waiting.”
