I'm going to be making some charms for my college dorm preemptively before I move in, like I'll be making a witches bell hopefully soon.
Does anyone have any suggestions for what else I can prepare before I move in? 🥰

I haven't been involved in my craft in so long, and I'm unsure of if I can even get back in and do a routine again. It definitely doesn't help that I can't burn herbs or incense due to my animals in my room.
Does anyone have any advice of how to get back in regularly?
Make some noise for the witches who don’t speak when casting. You know we won’t!
A list of Wordcraft abilities
Not many people will be able to understand what Wordcraft is. To remedy this, I have compiled the list below along with a few alternative ways to define Wordcraft. Please note that this list is not definitive. There are always going to be more powers and abilities that have yet to be discovered.
Alternative ways of defining Wordcraft:
- The writer’s witchcraft
- Word witchery
- The magic of words
- Eloquent Enchantment
List of Wordcraft abilities:
- mimicry of powers and abilities of characters (limitations of physics do apply)
- creation of paper charms (aka petitions, wish cards)
- character communication (bibliomancy)
- potion creation (energetic infusion of described potions into water or liquid)
- spell casting (using books as inspiration for incantations to create change. Can also be off the cuff casting)
- verbal empathy (the ability to tap into knowledge of a person by reading or hearing their words)
- magical storytelling (can write stories and works that create magical effects)
- persuasion (some Wordcrafters are extremely persuasive and can lace their voice with magic to charm people)
- spell writing (can take any spell and rewrite it into pure incantation form. Can also create new spells for others)
- Reading magic (by reading a book, a wordcrafter can intuitively pick up the type of magic held within.)
In short Wordcraft is all about fluidity and words.
Becoming a more active practitioner through everyday magic
Four years ago if you asked me what it took to be an active magical practitioner, I would have told you that it took spells upon spells cast, rituals every weekend, elaborate offering ceremonies, and so on. If you had told me about “everyday” magic, I would have pouted and complained that it wasn’t “real” enough. Shame on me!!
But the truth is, you can be a “practitioner” without formal spells, rituals, and ceremonies. What makes us practitioners, seekers, whatever you like to call it isn’t the activities, but the beliefs. I also don’t want to make it seem like you must be cramming lots of magic in to your daily life to be a proper practitioner; it is quite alright to be a nonpracticing practitioner, and that is a completely valid path.
However, some of us would like a little more active practice in our daily lives. After all, we have been given a magic wand. What is the fun in letting it collect dust in the cabinet? I think doing practical, everyday magic is loads of fun. It also has the added benefit of giving you practice and experience outside of big spells and rituals which many people don’t have the time, energy, or supplies for.
What do I mean when I say everyday magic? I mean putting small amounts of magical energy behind mundane actions to turn them in to magical actions. When done regularly throughout the day this can turn a regular day in to a very magical one. This kind of everyday magic can be done again and again in any situation that you like, to help support you, ease your burdens, and improve your quality of life.
Any situation can be made magical, from drinking your morning juice to taking a walk down the sidewalk. It is up to you, as a practitioner, to decide when and where you are going to take “everyday” and add the magic. I will give several generalized spells below that you can adapt to everyday situations.
Stirring Magic in to Liquids
Useful for tea, coffee, beverages, soups, elixirs, etc.
This magic will take effect once the liquid is consumed. Or, the liquid may passively give off the effect in to the room.
Take a wooden or metal spoon; metal conducts energies more easily. You may also use your pointer finger on your right hand if you prefer.
Strongly imagine what magical effect you would like to occur. In my morning coffee I like to stir bravery and boldness. For you, perhaps you would like to stir in peace or calmness (the opposite of anxiety). In a hearty soup you may wish to stir happiness and coziness. In a brew meant to affect the ambiance of a room, perhaps a general positive energy or cleansing vibration is best.
Take the spoon or your finger and stir the brew clockwise, while vividly imagining the effect you want to take place. Imagine that this effect is literally being stirred in to your liquid, just as if you were stirring cream in to it. At a certain point you will feel as if this magic is complete, but if you doubt yourself, rest assured the spell is complete after nine stirs.
Then, you must seal the spell. You can say “so mote it be.” I like to clap or snap my fingers. Immediately consume the beverage or set it aside to allow its ambient effects to take place.
If you prefer your liquid to take something away, stir it counter-clockwise. For example, to cure anxiety, stir clockwise for peace, or counter-clockwise to reduce anxiety itself. Do not combine clockwise and counter-clockwise stirring in the same liquid.
Exhaling Energies
Releasing energies to either fill a room or be dissipated.
Inhale deeply and be acutely aware of what energies are inside of you. Maybe you are filled with beautiful energies that you want to share with the world. Maybe you are filled with negative energies that need to be released so you will feel better.
If you are filled with negative energies, try going outside if possible or in to an open space where the air and winds can help dissipate your energies.
Inhale again. As you inhale with focus, energies will be drawn towards your lungs where they can be naturally expelled. Inhale until you feel very certain that the energies are in your lungs and ready to be moved away.
When you are prepared, take a final deep breath and imagine the energies are scooped up on the air in your lungs, ready for transport. As you exhale, do so deeply, so that there is not one trace of air left in your lungs.
If you are exhaling negative energies send a wish on your breath that the winds dissipate your energies and neutralize and purify them. If you are exhaling beautiful energies for others to enjoy, just let them sit.
Inhale and exhale several more times until you feel clean and purified.
Another excellent way of dispelling negative energy is to exhale through pursed lips, like how people do when they’re pissed off. That is a real magical technique of releasing negative energies and stress. I do it often at work, and it really helps.
If you want to try something more advanced, this technique also works with talking and singing.
Applying Substances to Your Body
Add energies directly to your body or clean away negativity.
If you are using soap, lotion, makeup, or any substance that is added to your body, try this brand of magic.
First, intensely visualize what you want to occur. It could be a beauty spell to clear skin and make it soft and delicate. It could be war paint to make you stronger, or a mask to glamour yourself. As you hold your cleanser/lotion/etc., you must simply believe that when you apply it, the effects you desire will take place.
Rub in clockwise circles to bring things (beauty, power, grace, protection) and counter-clockwise circle to take things away (blemishes, fear, clumsiness). If circles do not apply to what you are doing (as is the case with spritzing on perfume or applying eyeliner) do not worry about it, just do your thing along with visualization.
Once you are done applying your substance, seal this spell by saying “so mote it be” or any other closer you use. If the substance requires rinsing off, as is the case with soaps, do so after the closing.
This type of magic can be used when applying lotion, soap, cleansers, hair products, makeup, perfume, cologne, body sprays, etc.
Quick Object Enchantments
Good to make an everyday object magical in the short term.
This quick enchantment won’t last long but depending on your level of skill it should be good for an hour or two. Remember that the magical enchantment should reflect the mundane uses for the object. Use your glasses for an enchantment to see lies, or your shoes for an enchantment to stand strong.
Hold the object and vividly imagine what you want to happen. Find a center of power within yourself – for many it is the solar plexus or spine.
Using your imagination, visualize that some of that energy comes out through your hands and in to the object you are holding. Wildly and with an iron-clad will, truly believe that the object you are holding is being infused with magical intent. Absolutely see within your mind that what you desire to occur will occur when you use the item. There is no question about it – your enchantment will work.
As soon as you feel the true faith that your object is enchanted, seal the spell by saying “so mote it be” or your preferred method of sealing. Wear, use, or otherwise interact with the object as normal and its enchantments will take effect immediately.

Nonverbal Witchcraft
For my witches who cannot speak, struggle to speak, or choose to remain quiet.
This post is a compilation of ideas and personal methods from fellow nonverbal witches. Not everything may fit for you, but hopefully it will give you a starting point!
Spells:
Write the words and focus your energy on bringing them into being. You could burn the piece of paper to finish off the spell. One contributor also mentions burying the paper.
Our thoughts are powerful. Focus, and say the words in your mind.
You can also mouth the words without speaking them, if that helps you.
Whispering is also great if that works for you!
Find power in silence, use it as its own tool.
Use instruments to create certain rhythms for different spells, instead of chanting.
If sound is helpful, play music that you feel relates/connects you to the spell.
Cast circles and finalize spells by snapping.
Sigils are concentrated intention–use that to your advantage. They can absolutely be a base for spellwork.
Use a power source; the elements (candles, soil, the air around you, a bowl of water, etc.), crystals, burning herbs, etc.
To feel energy without using words to confirm: use tools that have stronger energy that you can physically feel.
Make spell candles, jars or sachets.
Use sign language! I’m of the opinion that everyone should at least learn the basics, and there are plenty of free resources out there!
Specific spells:
Casting a circle: “You can cast a circle by walking in a circle and visualizing your footsteps imprinting on the earth below, creating a barrier of light (color chosen to correspond to intention at the time), walk the circle 3 times and see the barrier in your mind forming a perfect sphere around your work space, becoming brighter and stronger each step you take.”*
To banish: write the things you wish to banish on a piece of paper, light them on fire with a black candle and place in a burn bowl.
To release and invite: use two pieces of paper. On one, write down everything you’d like to release from your life. On the other, write down everything you’d like to invite into your life. Burn the release paper and dispose of the ashes, keep the invite paper. (Optional: I like to do this on the new moon, and have a black candle above the release paper and a white candle above the invite paper).
Protective charm: (click here)
To raise you out of a dark place: (click here)
Spell of destruction: (click here)
Energy work:
Use a cajon, bells, singing bowl, steel tongue drum/moondrum, or other instruments to raise energy!
“I have a specific snapping rhythm that is ‘magic time’. When I snap the rhythm once or three times it’s go time and I fall into the zone.”*
“For energy work and to raise energy I dance and as my heartbeat gets louder in my ears I mentally chant with it, focusing on a short phrase, intention, or incantation with the energy I physically raised and the meditative repetition of my mind.”*
Use a power source; the elements, crystals, burning herbs, etc.
Most energy work involves movement, rather than words (click here for energy work with restricted movement).
Other ideas:
Worship: write letters, devote your actions, decorate an altar. Prayers don’t need to be spoken! Or write your prayers and place them on an altar, burn them, or keep them. (Bedridden worship)
Divination doesn’t require spoken word, especially once you have a bond with your tools. You can always use writing, sigils, or your thoughts to channel your intent/question. (Bedridden divination)
Charge crystals with your intent and wear them/carry them in a pouch.
Kitchen witchcraft, garden magic, tea magic, etc. etc.
Utilize the correspondences of the items in your life.

I made my first pendulum!
I just made my first pendulum and programmed it! I wanted to use one of my crystals to make on but they aren’t very symmetrical and I have other uses planned for them ;). So, I decided to use my grandmother’s engagement ring that I’ve already bonded with and been wearing for months now. It’s a real diamond, very simple and small, and on a gold band. I connected it to one of my unused silver chains and it worked perfectly! I asked it what yes and no looked like and got that yes is counter clockwise and no is clockwise. It gave me pretty strong answers for my programming questions, (my name is Emily, my brother’s name is blah blah blah, etc.) I’m very happy to have another tool willing to work with me on my journey 🥰.
Also look at my lovely lady grimoire! She’s old and worn but that only increases her beauty and worth. 💖
Tarot Relationship Spread: Finding Love
This morning I decided to use my newly cleansed tarot deck and do a spread for finding love. I’ve been struggling for a while as I’ve never been in a relationship before and my heart has been yearning to experience that type of love. So I found this spread by labyrinthos academy and decided to do it. Here’s the spread if you would like to try it yourself:
This is the reading I received:
1. Are You Ready?
Nine of Swords
2. Lover’s Characteristics
The Tower
3. How will you / have you met?
King of Wands
4. Characteristics of our relationship
Temperance
5. Potential of relationship
Eight of Swords
My Interpretation:
I’m too anxious for my first relationship and need to learn to love myself entirely first before I can open my heart to others. My lover is also struggling themselves and if we were to get together our relationship would end in destruction. I need to give myself and my lover time to grow and learn before we can come together.
Last night I was finally able to cleanse all of my supplies! It felt so great having the new moon energy to be able to cleanse all of my crystals, my grimoire, and my tarot deck (I’m hoping I’ll be able to bond a little better with her as she’s still a little reluctant to work with me). Thank you to the moon for helping me out 💕.
All LGBT people deserve elf ears and a dragon companion, it’s a birth right.
Yeah where the heck is my lil’ dragon buddy???
First Tarot Deck Interview!
Hi! So I just did my first tarot deck interview with my new deck. I used @neofawn ‘s setup for doing it, which is the picture below:
I’ll be formatting my results after her original post, as I felt like that felt nice with the keywords and then my interpretation of it. All of my cards were upright by the way. Here are my results:
1. Her Greeting:
Two of Swords
Keywords: Intuition, compromise, indecision, stalemate
My interpretation: She’s willing to work with me but isn’t quite so sure yet on what to think.
2.Three of Swords
Keywords: Pain, grief, deception, rejection
My interpretation: She can tell that I’m going through a lot currently and doesn’t want to work with me unless I’m in the right state of mind.
3.Seven of Wands
Keywords: Challenge, struggle, defense, justification
My interpretation: She is very stubborn and may give me very challenging readings to interpret but she’s doing it for a reason.
4.Wheel of Fortune
Keywords: Luck, change, karma, destiny
My interpretation: She will be very helpful for helping me start on my journey and make the realizations I need to follow my path.
5.Seven of Pentacles
Keywords: Profit, reward, investment, growth
My interpretation: She can’t help me with financials, my inner growth, etc., and I need to do that one my own without her.
6.Six of Pentacles
Keywords: Generosity, charity, empathy, kindness
My interpretation: It’s going to take time but we will learn and become better together, resulting in a close and beneficial bond.
