Summary

You've been running for as long as you could remember.

Ever since that fateful day that you had accidentally killed your high school sweetheart... You've never stopped running, have never looked back, as you couldn't deal with the memories that awoke within your mind because of the action.

You don't know what you are, not truly anyway, but you're certain that you're not completely human as you once thought. The scrappy runaway that tags along with you only brings that fact home.

Ten years pass, with you you running from the darkness of your past, but you should have known that it would eventually catch up with you.

One can only run for so long before they're caught. You just never expected to be pulled into the whole world connected to the one you're used to living in-- as well as a murder case that seems way too familiar.

Will you be able to survive your induction into the Fae World? The place you were always meant to be?

Or will you always remain a person running from their past? Never truly finding where they belong.

Features

Play as an MC that only wants to figure out where they belong. While also dealing with the revelation that they're an incubus/succubus. (Inspired by the wonderful show Lost Girl.)

Romance 1 of 5 possible options-- from the compassionate human doctor to the sullen shifter. Poly possibility with N and R.

A Human Doctor within the mythical world of the Fae. Something you never expected to encounter upon being inducted into it. With a gentle gaze, soft voice, and compassionate disposition, you know that they're someone who just wants the best for their patients. Why do they look so sad though?

The First Fae that truly comes into contact with you-- barring your best friend-- and you can immediately tell that they don't trust you; after all you're unaligned. Meaning you're a wild card and that's not something that sits well with the shifter. Will you be able to get to know the strong, and loyal, heart that lies beneath?

Ryan/Reyna Lewis [M/F] - The Dark Fae

Detective Lewis wasn't an easy person to get along with-- not from what you've gathered in your initial interaction with them at least. Harsh words, sarcastic quips, and an overall apathy to your very presence showcased the fact. It seems that they enjoyed being around only one person; Doctor Grey, the harshness falling away into a gentleness you'd never expect. Will you ever have that kindness turned on you?

Jace/Jade Holland [M/F] - The Anchor

The person that you know will always have your back no matter what. They're the one that introduced you to the possibility of you not being completely human; having been adopted they couldn't really relay too much information, but what they were able to share potentially saved your life. You can't imagine your life without their kind smile, happy-go-lucky demeanor, or their contagious laugh. Will something else blossom?

Perseus/Persephone Chase [M/F] - The Tutor

They don't have much interest in the affairs of the people going on around them. As long as they're left alone, like they have always been, they'll be fine. Being a half-breed within the Fae World being almost as taboo as the human doctor, but they've been able to persevere so far. Will you be able to open their eyes to the world they feel like abandoned them? While they show you how to control the demon within yourself?

Are the fae ruled by a queen?

The Light Fae and Dark Fae are ruled by two separate entities. You can technically see them as being a King/Queen but they’re elected. Or chosen by the Council.

Ravenna is the leader of the Dark Fae and Elhael is the leader of the Light Fae.

What different species of Fae are there? Also, are most members of a certain species more likely to support one particular side in terms of Light and Dark Fae or do the two species not really divide on species lines?

There’s many types (that I wouldn’t be able to name off the top of my head). From various shifters, to fairies, to valkyrae, and many more. Most “fantasy” creatures or mythological creatures would be considered Fae in this story.

Incubi/Succubi are usually considered Dark Fae. While a Fae like Fairies would be considered Light Fae, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t exceptions.

When romancing RO’s would mc only have to worry about sapping a humans life force ad them dying, like MC’s past lover and N, or is that a worry for dating anybody regardless of species?

Hello! I’m doing well! I hope the same can be said for you too.

The MC would only have to be concerned about sapping a humans life force. It’s completely possible for a incubus/succubus to sap the life force from another Fae, but it’s almost impossible to do (as the other Fae wouldn’t allow it).

N is a lot sturdier than they look. I can’t exactly say why that is, but the first half of their romance will be filled with that level of angst until things happen.

Quick question, can we romance someone of the opposite side? Like if we choose Dark Fae, can we romance those of Light Fae and vice versa or nah? 🤔

You’re allowed to do it. Will everyone look upon that favorably? Absolutely not. Has it been done before? Absolutely.

Usually the sides keeps within the sides though.

It would not be possible, I’m afraid. As sexual attraction is quite integral into the type of Fae the MC is.

Hello, love! You mentioned that being unaligned does not bring as many perks as being affiliated with a side, so I was just wondering why some people would still rather choose to remain unaligned?

The MC and J are the only unaligned Fae-- at least within the province that you reside within. As maturing Fae are usually taught the traditions of each side while growing up; Light Fae Families usually stay with the Light Fae and the same can be said for the Dark Fae too. You would have chosen your side when you turned 18, but you weren't a part of the Fae World. Hence you being unaligned at the current moment.

A perk for staying unaligned is that you can technically be a free agent and work for either side without having a conflict of interest. You'd just have to be mindful of the enemies you make.

Yes. They have a seductive quality about them. Most Fae are attractive though (it's an allure for some predatory fae).

I wonder how powerful are incubus/succubus

They're fairly powerful in the grand scheme of things, but they're not the most powerful. Like most Fae you'll have elevated strength and endurance (you heal from sexual energy or with time), along with a prolonged life span. However, you wouldn't be stronger than a Wolf Shifter (like Talan/Tala)... I hope that makes sense.

Could you please tell us how did MC accidentally killed their high school sweetheart 

Sure! I won't go too in depth as it'll be explored within the game, but I'll tell you the baseline.

The MC is an incubus/succubus meaning that they're a sex demon (technically). Because of this the MC feeds off of sexual energy. You weren't aware of your lineage, being raised by humans, so when you reached maturity (18) you weren't aware that you had to be cautious when in sexually heightened moments (as it awakens the creature within you to feed). Not having the knowledge, the training, and the understanding of what you were, you drained your high-school sweetheart. Ultimately killing them.

I noticed some characters are Light Fae and some are Dark Fae. is this based on/similar to Seelie and Unseelie courts in other stories about fae or is it a different dynamic?

Sort of? In a sense I can see it being like that but not quite. Truly just think of a Good Side vs A Not So Good Side. One leans more towards peace while the other is a bit more chaotic. Both of pros and both have cons. Being unaligned is like the gray area between the two, but it doesn't have as many perks as being aligned to one side.

Love this, reminds me of lost girl which is great because I loved that show but didn't love what happened post season 3... Also R, I love them already and I'm ready to steal their grumpy heart of gold (totally not because I was a Tamsin simp rip she deserved better) anyway really looking forward to this, looks wonderful so far, good luck and thank you for sharing^^
