Tekken Thoughts: Do Tekken and Soul Calibur share the same universe?

This has been a fan theory for years now.  Does both of Namco’s premier fighting games share the same timeline? Is world of Soul Calibur merely the world of Tekken in the 16th century? Yoshimitsu and the Manji Clan feature in both series of games, Heihachi was in Soul Calibur 2 and so on.

Is this were the case who destroyed Soul Edge once and for all?

Anyway, It’s a much more plausible theory than that Tekken/Street Fighter theory.
