Ethereal image if it didn't look like I have a freaky ghostly tit
Kevin thomas
I wrote this poem for my dad once when he was sober. I wrote it because he'd come home after walking for 5 hours for no reason. He was trying his best to stay sober, walking 30m everyday. One day 5 hours flew by and then I heard a knock on the door. I wasn't worried at all. He came home and didn't feel any need to explain himself, but I could tell he was sort of confused as to why he'd walked all that way. After spending months being locked inside the house, he'd only just started to get back into the real world. Doing little 30m shifts in town and then scurrying back into saftey. This particular day he woke up and walked till his feet stopped working. He came home so proud. At the time I didn't really understand. No need to ask any questions, just insanely proud, enough not to ask any questions and just celebrate the moment with him. Definitely confused regardless, I wrote myself a little poem. I knew I'd never show him it, but I wrote it out of pride anyway. I wish it was something profound and intentional and careful in hindsight, but regardless I'm glad I wrote it at the time.
I walked to brynaman this morning,
As I walked I wasn't sure why
When I woke up it felt like my calling
Confused I looked up at the sky.
One foot went Infront of the other
Something I could never explain
But as I did walk along further,
Conclusions were always the same.
As the minutes ticked by all around me
Still confused, I thought god only knew
But the frown on my face began it's ascent
As the path in my wind mirror grew.
