I already can’t deal anymore with the pictures of this Muslim woman on the beach being forced to undress by armed policemen being shared en masse on social medias. This woman’s face isn’t even blurred, she’s recognizable and nobody doesn’t even seem to stop and think that maybe she doesn’t want those pictures to be shared? This woman could have been my aunt, a cousin or any other Muslim woman I know. And that’s not fun to see pictures of us humiliated and threatened by armed people being shared en masse. That ain’t funny and that ain’t endearing to see that it takes shocking, dehumanizing and humiliating pictures for people to care.   It’s been more than a decade that Muslim women have been attesting to similar cases of physical/symbolical/moral violence. “Glad” to see it takes pictures to realize what’s happening though. Keep sharing and making a spectacle out of it.

Israel stands accused of using ‘water as a weapon’ as some West Bank homes have gone without water for a week.

Palestinian city of Salfit sits atop an underground wealth of water, but the city’s residents are forbidden from accessing it - and they are now in crisis, as Israel’s national water company, Mekorot, has reduced water supply to the northern West Bank.

Salfit gets most of its water from the mountain aquifer, the most significant of the three aquifers that supply water to Palestinians and Israelis. The vast majority of the mountain aquifer is within the West Bank, but under the Oslo Accords, only 17 percent of the aquifer’s water goes to Palestinians, while more than 71 percent goes to Israelis in Israel and its illegal settlements.

“Salfit is one of the most water-rich lands in the West Bank, but look at us - we can’t access it,” Shaher Eshtieh [Salfit Mayor] said. “Water is running under our ground while our taps run dry … The people are getting angry. They won’t continue to accept this.”

Unarmed Black Man With Hands Up Shot By Police.

Charles Kinsey, 47, a behavior therapist from South Florida was shot in the leg three times by the police in North Miami while laying on the ground with his arms up and trying to help his patient with autism who had run away from a group home.

It all started when someone called 911 and said there was a man walking around with a gun. However it was Kinsey’s patient who was sitting on the ground cross-legged, playing with a toy truck.

Charles got shot by police despite telling them he was only trying to help his patient.

The police shot him, handcuffed him and left him on ground bleeding.

North Miami police have not released much information at all. They haven’t released the officer’s name, they haven’t given us an update on the investigation. However, they did say that the state attorney is now a part of this investigation.
