Lucius let her step back and settle where she did as he flipped the tab on the cup and took a sip of the warm drink. “Mm just how I like it.” His smile was warm as he looked up upon the girl’s face and he hummed in content, relishing in the comfort the tea had momentarily brought him. “Define not good?” His voice was a bit stern in a way he hadn’t intended it to come across but the sentiment remained the same. At her question his nose scrunched up and he sighed. “I suppose she’s alright, consulting me for plans among other contracts.” He rubbed a hand over his face and watched the brunette witch. “Do you think we could survive this, Aly? I love you and I know how you feel but could we survive this arrangement? It’s so bloody fucking frustrating knowing this is one sided now. Fuck. Merlin please don’t take this……. bloody hell I’m going to shut up now.” His voice was strained and he turned away from the witch who held his heart because he hadn’t understood why his mouth decided to word vomit.
"Kind of bad, but not bad enough that I want to drown my sorrows in Firewhiskey," she said with a little grin. "It has a lot to do with Amycus, and you know I don't like to divulge his business." This time she was more serious, her tone signaling that while she held his gaze. Alecto was glad she'd gotten his order right, but she'd know him for so long that she might have been an idiot if she got it wrong. The small brunette was caught off guard by his question and her shoulders stiffened in Surprise and unease. Part of why she liked this arrangement so much was sue didn't have to do a whole lot of thinking with Lucius, allowing herself to just feel the bliss he could bring her instead, but here he was, posing her with this question.
"I hadn't really thought of it, to be honest," she said slowly, her fingers dancing over the polished wood of his desk. She had just assumed their relationship would either continue or just stop. She loved and had great respect for Bellatrix and by extension she would have accepted it if Narcissa wanted it to end. "It's not completely one sided... I care about you a lot, more than most people... But if we want this to continue, I know we can make it work. We're both determined and enjoy each other. Do you want this to continue?" Was he still going to want her? His future wife was a goddess, there was no denying it. Maybe she could love him back where she couldn't. Who was she to stand in the way of that?
