OPEN STARTER FOR ⶠM IMPORTANT FACTS TO KNOW : Aimee is a Siren (and a mermaid in human form) working at a mysterious carnival that just appeared in town overnight. She has a singing act that draws crowds in from outside and after her show, she retreats back to her tent.
The hum upon her lips was SOFT, yet somehow it managed to travel along as she peered at herself in the mirror. Nimble fingers idly COMBED through long blonde locks, without a care in the world as to what was happening outside of her tent. Her job was DONE for the day. She sang her song, which as per usual caused hordes of people to flock towards the carnival and with that there wasnât any thing else for her to do except ENJOY the night. She knew by the end of the night some souls would be lost to the RING LEADER like always, but it caused her no ache in her heart. The smile playing upon her lips told that plain as day, though it faltered slightly as her tents opening rustled and a figure emerged into her private space. The hum that had surely drawn the stranger in caught in her throat and she turned quickly towards the intruder. âYouâre not ALLOWED to be in here.â

OPEN STARTER Quick note: Faye is pyrokinetic. She can create and control fire at will. Think of pyro from xmen and youâre basically set on powers.Â
Faye rarely LEFT the circus grounds once it had appeared in a town, but lately she had been feeling restless - so she couldnât help herself. Slipping away was easy enough, and soon she was wondering the streets idly. There was no purpose to her footfalls, she was simply BEING free for a little while. A cigarette dangled from her lips for a long time, before she lifted a hand and quickly SNAPPED her fingers. Normally one would need a LIGHTER in order to smoke a cigarette, but Faye was special. A small spark appeared above her thumb and pointer finger and without even glancing around to see if anyone noticed, she lit the stick between her lips and inhaled. She didnât CARE if anyone saw - it wasnât as if anyone would believe them anyways, so why try to hide her power?

Though sheâs had her fair share of rebellion like any teenager - a party or two here and there - Rosa isnât exactly known for getting into trouble or any massive amount of underage drinking, so she knows even before his suggestion that the alcohol likely wonât be drank with any sort of delicate grace. âThanks for the tip,â she hums with a laugh, glancing down at the cup for a moment. Thereâs a breath of space where she ponders the raw level of stupidity of taking a drink from a relative stranger, but sheâs not in the head space to consider it for long and, hell, he hasnât hurt her yet. So she downs the drink after him, quick as she can manage as her face scrunches up from the burning taste down the back of her throat. âSmooth.â Itâs a joke that pairs well with the coughed laugh that follows. âI suppose you have ideas on how weâll do that? You do seem to have a plan for everything.â
Watching her with mild interest, his lips quirked upward once more as she downed the drink to the best of her ability. PERFECT. There was nothing special in the drink of course, no trick on his part but that didnât mean it wasnât in his favor. Lowered inhibitions in a girl always HAD been his favorite thing after all. The smirk upon his features lasted ANOTHER MOMENT before he gently whisked the glass from her hold and crossed back to the bar. For a split second he contemplated if he should get them another round - but there would be time for that LATER. Plenty if he had anything to say on the matter. Instead, he set the empty glasses down before turning back to her and addressing her question. A VALID one by all means. âOh Iâve ALWAYS got a plan. Iâm not the boss around here for nothing after all     â Holding his arms out widely as if to gesture to the circus as a WHOLE, Williamâs grin widened before he continued with a tsk of his tongue. âBut I think this would entirely depend upon what you want and NEED my dear. What would make YOU feel better. After all, youâve been through the mud tonight. Only you know what you need.â
I know it would be cliche but im gonna need a Joe/l Ki/nna/man fcâed muse for my girl Gabbi over here. I donât make the rules.

âIâll do my best, but no promises.â Itâs easier said than done, but Rosa knows itâs best for everyone if she doesnât let them completely ruin her night. After all, how often does the carnival come into town? Why not try her best to have some good story to tell for tonight, not just a tale of woe and heartbreak? Sheâs already off to a good start with William whisking her off into the night and as long as he doesnât murder her or anything, sheâs counting it on her short list of successes for the night. âI, uhâŠtechnically, Iâm not old enough to legally drink,â she admits with a nervous laugh, though the thought of alcohol does sound pretty damn good. âBut I wonât tell if you wonât? Iâll definitely take the company either way. God knows youâve already improved my night a ton.â
Muttering a quiet THEREâS A GOOD GIRL beneath his breath, William poured her a drink as well and handed it off just as soon as he got close enough to her once more. He smiled down at her and offered a quick WINK to silently tell her that their secret was safe with him. No one would come poking around for her tonight anyways. Not after the story she had told him - so he wasnât worried in the slightest that they would get caught. In fact, he was SECURE in the fact that they would be alone for as long as he wished for them to be. Surely GABBI, his hired muscle was around here somewhere making sure of that. Always at a distance though, just out of sight. Waiting to be called upon - and while he NORMALLY would allow her first crack at those heâs whisked away, perhaps Rosa shall be the anomaly. Heâs suddenly got other plans for her, and heâd like to see them play out without interference. âI suggest drinking it QUICKLY then if youâre not used to the taste. Goes down EASIER that way.â Without another word, he downed his drink with a quiet hum and glanced her way over the rim of the glass, eager to see if she took his advice or not. âThen we can see about improving your night even MORE huh?â

She feels like a fucking idiot for letting the two of them break her heart like this, but every time she tries to push the hurt away and bury it, the sting just comes right back to mix with the anger twisting in her chest. Stupid girl. You should have known better. Her self-deprecating inner monologue is broken by his words and she wishes she could say she wasnât quite so attached to his flattering words. A smarter version of her - a version less dazed by grief and hurt - might be far more suspicious of a strange man she barely knew laying on compliments and taking her back to his tent alone, but Rosa is certainly not that version in the current moment. âClearly they donât agree with you,â she mumbles with a sigh before giving a shrug and a laugh. âI mean, I do, but what can I do? I donât even know if theyâre still here and even if they are, itâs two against one and I already look like an idiot. Best I can hope for is to get my stuff out of his apartment while heâs at work tomorrow and block their numbers.â
âHow about this, you forget about them for now. Forget about all of it for TONIGHT.â It wouldnât be easy for her, William knew this, but in time it would be possible. As long as she stayed here. As long as he was in control of the situation. Karma - in some form - would come for the two that had betrayed her. His CARNIVAL would happily see to that. As guests were slowly allowed to trickle out, they would be compelled to stay until a punishment was found. Until then, they werenât a concern. Neither for him, nor should they be for her. Without warning, William rose to his feet and crossed to one side, where a makeshift bar was set up. He poured a drink for himself and then peered over his shoulder towards her direction with a quirk of his brow. âI know the grief seems like a LOT right now, but maybe a drink would help? And some FRIENDLY company? If revenge is what youâre after, we can see to that later - but for now, I think you should just relax.â

Rosa laughs at the comment about beauty, but sheâs not desperate enough for compliments to argue at the moment. Finally satisfied with her appearance, she turns her attention from her own reflection to the room - or tent, she supposes - around them, glancing at all the comforts inside. Her first thought is how much of a pain it must be to pack up and unpack everything each time they move, but she figures theyâve probably got some kind of system to make it easier. After all, they do this for a living and sheâs just a casual fan of their work. A sigh falls from her at the question and she moves to slump down into a chair across from him, trying to decide exactly how much backstory he needs. âWell, you know, I thought itâd be a fun night to come here with him and my best friend, ride some rides, have some fun, yeah? Weâd been walking around for a bit and they wanted to go on the ferris wheel but I get vertigo up that high, so I figured Iâd let them go and Iâd grab some cotton candy for us all when they got back down.â A low, shuddering breath fills her lungs back up with oxygen as she does her best not to ruin the makeup she just fixed with the retelling of her heartbreak. âI come back and theyâre up at the top and heâs too busy sticking his tongue down her fucking throat to even notice me there. A two year relationship and an eight year friendship, down the fucking drain. So, yeah, I donât know. I feel like a dart or two is a little justified.â
William allowed the girl to tell her story in peace, keeping quiet even as she paused to collect herself before continuing. HEARTBREAK. It wasnât his first run in with this kind of thing. It was as if the carnival itself made people act out. Perhaps it was the GENERAL atmosphere of the place - the lights and sounds making it seem all a FANTASY and that whatever happened here would go away with the tents the next morning. Much like Vegas. Or perhaps it was the darker ENERGIES tied to every fiber of the place, making people act upon even their deepest urges. William didnât know, but he didnât much care to find out either. It was something he was simply used to, but OBVIOUSLY Rosa hadnât the same sense as he did about the place and so he allowed her a moment to grieve. Meanwhile a hand rose to idly tap at his chin as he nodded along to her story, and it was only after she was finished did he speak up once more. âIt isnât right. To take such a BEAUTIFUL thing like yourself and smash it into pieces.â An idea popped into Williamâs head at that, and he resisted the smirk that threatened to creep onto his face. âIf I were you, Iâd be wanting more than just a FEW darts to make them both suffer.â
