Today, a show that means so much to me is ending.
Agents of SHIELD. I’ve been obsessed ever since they announced it was a thing. Since Comic Con in July 2013, where the cast had their first interviews and panel and I fell in love with the actors before even seeing the pilot. I made fan accounts for the show before it aired, knowing full well I would love it no matter what.
September 24th, 2013, I sat in the office at my parent’s house and watched the pilot, overly excited to see what I had been waiting months for. I was hooked from the beginning, and little did I know I’d be watching this show for the next seven years.
I dressed up as Skye for Halloween that year(tweeted it to the cast and they all loved it!) cut my hair to match Simmons’ style the next, and even started dressing like her because I loved the show THAT much. I was crazy obsessed. I couldn’t get enough.
I still remember watching most every episode live when they aired. I remember when Ward was revealed as Hydra, when Fitz confessed his feelings to Simmons, when Daisy became an agent of shield, when Fitzsimmons FINALLY got together...I remember all the deaths and all the plot twists. All the cliffhangers and special moments. I wish I could relive seeing every episode for the first time.
Now it’s all ending, and while I’m very sad, I’m happy I found this show when I did and that it’s had such an influence on my life. I was 14 when I first became a fan, and now I’m 21, so it’s safe to say I’ve grown up a lot while watching this show.
To the cast, crew, and other fans... thank you. I’ll never forget this show and this fandom. It’s been such a fun ride.
