Longing for Something

I went to Utah! And I want to go back. Right now…

It was a crazy adventure! I left Branson and it was 80 degrees. When I got to Kansas City, it was snowing and 50 degrees. I landed in Salt Lake in the warm 30 degrees! When I got to the Kansas City airport, all of the computers were down and I had to wait three hours to check in, getting through security just in time to board. (Good thing I listened to that prompting and left an extra hour early right?) Amongst all the craziness and stress, my friend called me and said, “Did you read your Scriptures?” And there was peace. The rest of the wait was spent listening to the Scriptures.

Honestly, I was terrified to go on this trip! I’ve never flown by myself and I had no idea what was in store for the next few days. But I knew it was going to be good!

As I went up through the clouds, the calming words (from the wonderful Hillsong) came through my headphones, “I see the King of Glory, coming on the clouds with fire…” I felt immediate peace! Seriously, flying over the clouds is just a little glimpse of Heaven! And I felt the King of Glory in that moment 🙂

I got to eat lunch at Cafe Rio. Um, yum! I would go back to Utah just to eat there! I got to see the sights of Utah including Temple Square and then riding the train which the views were beautiful! We went ice skating, which I was way worse than I remember being. And most of all, I got to spend some wonderful time with some incredible people!

After this trip, I am just incredibly thankful! I have a Heavenly Father that loves and protects and guides me. He is so good! I am so thankful for the people I am surrounded by and the experiences I get to have. My favorite parts weren’t the things I did but the little moments that were shared.
