I had an idea for enjin x reader what if reader gets pregnant and rudo gets extremely jealous and acts out
a/n: this was such a cool concept to write. i hope you enjoy it, i feel like rudo would be an amazing big brother.. he would for sure be so protective when the baby is born too if he can conquer his jealousy....
The two of you weren't trying to get pregnant but you weren't trying to prevent it either. When the span of silence from your bathroom stretched too long Enjin stepped into the doorway, voice trembling with a mix of emotions.
Mostly anticipation.
"Well?" His voice like velvet across gravel.
"It's positive."
The air shifted, lifting the weight of anticipation to replace it with the lightness of joy despite what the future of the two of you raising a child would bring.
Enjin's hands were on you, calloused but gentle against your cheeks as he peppered your face with kisses. His lips caught the tears of joy slipping from your eyes, but the worry if you were adequate or not to raise a child was beginning to make your lips tremble.
But when Enjin's lips took yours in an embrace suddenly the feeling of inadequacy faded away and was completely erased by the smile he gave you when he broke the kiss.
"You're going to be a great mother." He all but whispered as his arms wrapped around your shoulders to pull you tight against him. Your arms followed suit, circling his middle while you melted into him.
Enjin was going to make an exceptional father. That much was a given considering how wonderful he was with the younger Cleaners.
The two of you told the Cleaners a week later. Most of them had suspected something was going on seeing as you had been frequently sick the past month and a half. They were all happy on your behalf and offered their support, even deciding they should have a celebration on behalf of your pregnancy.
To which Rudo didn't show up for.
When you announced your pregnancy you had caught a glimpse of the white haired boy. His frame was rigid and eyes distant as he processed the news. You were surprised when he left the common room so soon after the announcement without a word to you or Enjin.
You thought out of anyone he'd be the first one to be excited for the both of you but you were wrong. Your first trimester had been horrible.
Assignments for you were an absolute no. That was effective immediately as soon as you announced your pregnancy. You had made an effort to argue that you were pregnant, not an invalid, and perfectly capable of handling trash beats (when you weren't puking your guts out). Corvus had firmly sided with Enjin on keeping you off the field until after your pregnancy.
Not to mention the morning sickness. It only worsened as the weeks went on. There were days where it was so debilitating that you couldn't even get out of bed except for when you had to run to the bathroom.
Poor Rudo, bless him, had been present during those days when Enjin couldn't be. Often pulling your hair back and bringing you wet cloths to put on the back of your neck to help cool your body down. In between those moments you'd catch the twitch of his jaw, the look of frustration and worry in his eyes while he took care of you.
He wasn't happy about your pregnancy, you could see it every time he looked at you.
"This is your fault." You had heard Rudo's voice outside of your bedroom in the hallway, the door having been left ajar by the teen upon Enjin's arrival.
"Huh?" You'd heard the confusion in Enjin's voice as the comment stopped him from entering your room.
"She's like this because of you."
The door shut and you didn't hear the rest of the conversation, but you could make out certain words when their hushed voices outside of the door rose.
"...completely normal..."
"...better soon... I know you're worried..."
If you had the energy you would've inserted yourself to break up whatever disagreement the two were having but all you could do was lay there and listen. When Enjin came back into the room he had shut the door harder than intended. He immediately apologized as he languidly crawled onto the bed with you.
Tattooed fingers brushed the hair that was sticking to your forehead aside as he looked over your features. You were drained of your color, a little clammy and tired but otherwise well.
Whatever Rudo had said in the hallway had left a look of guilt in his eyes.
"Don't take whatever he said to heart." You reassured as you cupped Enjin's cheek in your small palm. "I'm right where I want to be."
"He's just scared. " You continued, "This is all new to him... a big scary change that has it's troubles as much as it does it's joys. We will have to be patient with him."
After a solid two weeks of the silent treatment Rudo finally spoke to Enjin, apologizing for what he said to him in the hallway outside your bedroom.
Now that your morning sickness had subsided you were able to accompany the other Cleaners in the common room and out to eat as often as they went. It was wonderful being able to finally eat and keep down your food again.
Rudo had grown quiet, not that he was much of a talker in general, but quiet in a way that was odd for him.
Normally when he was with you he would go on about something one of the guys did while on an assignment, something Enjin said that was cool... or how Riyo fell asleep on him in the jeep again on the way back to headquarters.
But now he hardly spoke a word. He would just silently attach himself to you, sometimes taking your hand and clinging on to you as if trying to memorize how it felt to hold. You got the impression he believed you were going to suddenly disappear unless he clung to you.
When he did speak there was an edge to his words that threatened to draw blood whenever he spoke to anyone, sometimes including you. However he would apologize profusely afterwards with tears present in his ruby colored eyes.
This went on until the end of your second trimester. You had Rudo's hand pressing against the round curve of your belly where he could feel the tiny kicks coming from inside.
The teen's expression was unreadable as he stood there with his scarred hand over your belly after he'd been instructed by Enjin to take his glove off so he could feel the kicks, after trying and failing to with his glove on.
"Isn't that amazing?" You said breathlessly with a smile on your face, your hand holding Rudo's to the spot on your belly as the baby continued to punch at his hand.
"Feels weird." Rudo's nose scrunched but the blush on his cheeks betrayed how he was truly feeling. You knew that flustered blush and could see the dawning of a intrigue in his eyes the longer his hand remained on your belly.
"Yeah," Your thumb brushed across his knuckles in a soothing motion. The scars on his hands never failed to draw compassion from you. "It does."
After that Rudo's mood shifted. His shoulders held less tension in them and his temper was quelled. You were happy to see him speaking to Enjin and the others with a better attitude. He even often asked to feel the life kicking inside of you.
Things had finally settled, or so you thought, until Rudo realized that he could hold more of your attention by pretending to be in more pain than he actually was after a run in with a trash beast that left him injured.
"What were you thinking?" You tutted as you cupped his cheek in one of your hands, turning his head toward you to get a better look at him.
"It's not that bad." He'd grumbled, eyes struggling to meet yours but readily enjoying the attention you were giving him.
"Not that bad? You're covered in bandages." You continued to fuss over him. You didn't cease to do so until Enjin insisted that he boy was fine despite how he looked.
The next few days were like that. You would fuss over Rudo's estate, constantly checking him over and inspecting him even after his bandages were gone.
But as your concern lessened Rudo began to feign still being in pain. He would wince when he sat up in bed when you came to see him, complain about soreness that no longer resided in his ribs, how drained he felt, when earlier that day he was up moving around with no issue.
You didn't notice that he was faking it until you overheard Enjin talking to him in the infirmary before your usual visit.
"You should talk to her instead of lyin' to her for attention..."
Rudo's gloved hands were clinching the infirmary sheets. He wasn't saying anything but you knew Enjin's words were weighing heavy on him. They weighed heavy on you for a different reason.
Why would Rudo be lying for your attention?
Then it clicked.
All these months you missed it. The mood swings, the clingyness, and now the deceit. He was jealous, not struggling with a new change in his life like you had originally thought.
Your lips pursed in thought before you knocked on the infirmary door to announce your presence.
The two males looked over at you standing in the door way and you gave them both a smile.
"Can I have a minute with Rudo?"
You didn't miss how Rudo flinched, nor the glance Enjin gave the boy before looking back at you with a nod.
"Of course baby."
Before you could sit down on the bed next to him Rudo was apologizing for lying to you about being more hurt than he truly was,
"I just... wanted your attention." His eyes were averting from yours. They'd been doing that a lot lately.
With a sigh you patted his leg fondly before resting your palms over your swollen belly. "I understand. Now that Enjin and I are having a child, I won't be able to give my attention to you as freely as I have before,
"But that doesn't change how much I value and love you,"
"You are just as important to me as the child growing inside of me." Your voice was soft, your smile softer as you looked over at him to assess how he was taking what you were telling him.
His eyes were welling with tears and he wasn't looking at you but you knew you were reaching him. A little reassurance went a long way when dealing with jealousy.
A beat of silence passed before Rudo shifted toward you to lean forward and rest his head on your shoulder from where you sat next to him on the bed. Your arm wrapped around him as you pulled him closer.
"I mean every word." You murmured to him, "And I think... you're going to make a wonderful big brother."
The boy froze at the words, as if he already didn't wear the title to the other younger Cleaners. He raised his head to look at you with wide garnet eyes as if he couldn't believe you'd give him the title to your child.
You offered him a warm smile while your hand raised to ruffle his hair affectionately.
"Really?" He breathed.
"It could go without saying." A kick from your belly caused you to let out a chuckle.
"I think the little one agrees." You said, your hand instinctively going to the area where the baby was pressing against your skin.
Rudo's eyes fell down to your hand and remained there before hesitantly reaching out to rest his hand over the child. You smiled hoping that the bond between Rudo and your child would be just as strong, if not stronger, than a blood relation.
Manga redraw of Zodyl 𖠳 ᐝ ꕀ ref under cut
I just read the recent rudo clinging on reader because of the nightmare sooo what about a part 2? But this time its not only rudo trying to steal reader from Enjin but Riyo and Zanka too? Those kids need feel maternal love
a/n: yall are reading my mind, definitely agree they need some love thanks for sending this in I had fun writing it🌹hope you enjoy!
You were settled in Enjin's lap, arms loosely wrapped around his shoulders. He was trying to keep his best poker face as he eyed his cards. The other two men sitting in the chairs round the table were in trouble unless they had a better hand.
Today had been the first day you'd been able to spend any time with Enjin and to be honest he was glad that for once the kids had been no where in sight to drag you away from him.
It had been weeks since he had dissuaded Rudo's fears of you meeting an early death like his father had, but it was a catalyst for something greater as the other kids had taken the notion to cling to you more than normal.
Even Zanka was involved. Something Enjin had never expected considering how he normally clung to him. It started off small. The older teen would come to you for advice on how to properly communicate a delicate principal to Rudo, something Enjin often left Zanka to figure out for himself.
Then it shifted to him approaching the two of you, clearly nervous. His hand anxiously rubbing at the back of his neck as his eyes carefully met yours, "W-when ya have time... d'ya think ya could.. train me?"
His eyes would shift to Enjin's golden ones, Enjin’s brows raised close to his hairline in surprise that Zanka was asking you to train him instead of himself.
"Yeah!" You chirped, slipping out from under Enjin's arm that he had draped around you, the two of you having been sitting comfortable on the couch of the common room.
"I'm not doing anything right now and I'm positive the training grounds are free since the others are all out on assignments." "Uh, you are doing something right now." Enjin had spoken in protest, you were supposed to be spending time with him.
You ignored him, clearly far too excited that the two toned haired teen had asked you to train him.
"A-are ya sure, I don't want to butt in-"
You had cut Zanka off, leaving Enjin on the couch flabbergasted as he watched you usher Zanka out of the common room in the general direction of the training grounds.
The man drug his hand down his face as he struggled to stifle his irritation. He supposed he could accompany the two of you to the training grounds under the guise of 'supervised training for his understudy', when really he just wanted to be in your vicinity.
After that Enjin had begun to call Zanka 'mr.stealyogirl' every time he saw him approach you for whatever reason. The boy's embarrassed reaction and strict denial of any advances toward you tumbling from his lips oddly quelled any hard feelings he had when Zanka led you away from him.
The nickname earned a piercing glare from yourself that promised consequences later that evening for him teasing the poor boy. Enjin only flashed you a devious smile, emphasizing his dimples that always softened any threat you threw his way.
It didn't bother Enjin nearly as much that Riyo would come to whisk you away from him until he caught the sliver of a sly smile on her lips after you'd made him get off your lap so you could help her with her hair.
Riyo had come into the common room, complaining about an atrocious knot she couldn't get out of her hair and she needed help. He'd caught the smile when he was sitting up off your lap, watching Riyo settle herself between your knees on the couch.
The long red strands fell around the both of you, over your lap as you worked through whatever knots she feigned to be there.
"I'm not pulling on you too hard am I?" You'd asked, carefully running the brush through silky red strands.
"Not at all." Emerald eyes glanced at Enjin with an expression that read 'you wish you were me huh?'
A silent scoff left the man as he dramatically rolled his eyes at the young girl gloating over the fact that she had your full attention instead of him. She was unbelievable.
But...
A gentle smile settled on his features as he watched the two of you. Riyo's eyes had long since fluttered closed as she relaxed into your touch while you worked the next section of her hair. He had to say out of all your relationships with the kids he adored your relationship with Riyo the most.
He had to remind himself to not allow his emotions to get the best of him when it came to the two of you. You should be allowed to enjoy the bond of girlhood with the girl, and Riyo needed a mother figure who could nurture her.
That didn't mean Riyo didn't make it hard when she was the first to embrace you a week later after you'd been gone for four days on an assignment. Enjin will never forget how the girl caught his eyes, glowing green with mischief as she stuck her tongue out at him to further rub her privilege of hugging you first in his face.
It took every ounce of patience within him not to blow a gasket as you caressed the top of the girl's head affectionately, promising her a girl's day full of shopping and food. The only thing effectively preventing Enjin's jealousy from surfacing was the smile you wore as you held Riyo in your arms.
Rudo was still a completely different story, one he didn't think he could change, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to give up. The day before yesterday he'd stumbled into the common room looking for you to find you on the couch with Rudo, curled up in your arms as usual while you read your book.
Without warning Enjin had strolled over to the couch and began to pull Rudo off of you but you were too quick.
"H-hey!" You squealed grabbing onto Rudo who was awoken out of his sleep the moment he felt Enjin's hands on him.
"Let go turdface I was here first." Rudo grumbled, latching onto you tighter, garnet eyes throwing a glare at Enjin who was still trying to untangle the teen from you.
"You're not a baby and she's my girlfriend so I have dibs." Enjin grunted.
You were trying to push Enjin away with your foot when he, with one strong pull, ripped Rudo from your embrace and nestled himself on top of you, leaving the boy to tug at the man in attempt to tear him off of you.
Squeals and protest filled the common room. Few were laughing, few were sighing in disappointment because of Enjin's childishness. The man had even stooped so low as to turn and stick his tongue out at Rudo, which only made the boy angrier.
"Enjin." You said in that low tone that meant he was neck deep in toxic waste more deadly than what could be found in no man's land.
He flinched.
The man was threatened with a week's ban of any sort of physical affection if he didn't get his act together.
"Read 'em and weep boys." Obviously Enjin had apologized and given up his spot to the offended boy, or else you wouldn't be in his arms right now.
Enjin laid down the winning hand on the table while the other men groaned. He was collecting his winnings when Rudo came into the common room, large eyes scanning the room until they fell on you.
Perhaps he'd gotten his hopes up for a child free evening too soon. He made a b-line for the both of you and stopped at the edge of the chair the two of you were sharing.
"We're going to watch a movie, do you want to join us?"
Of course you'd said yes.
Half an hour later the five of you were, somehow, all on one couch with the lights dim with some black and white movie playing on one of the few TV's headquarters had.
You were sandwiched between Rudo and Riyo.
Rudo was struggling to stay awake, head lolling forward every few minutes and snapping back up. His arm interlocked with yours, both of his gloved hands clinging to your one. Riyo on the other arm was wide awake, leaning against you with her head resting against your shoulder.
Her eyes were fixed on the screen with no intention of acknowledging Enjin next to her with his arm draped behind her and yourself. Long tattooed fingers were combing through your hair, sometimes stopping to curl them around his fingers whenever he got bored.
He couldn't help but notice how your eyes were growing heavy at his ministrations. It wouldn't be long before you were mimicking Rudo.
Zanka was slumped against Enjin. The kid was asleep within the first five minutes of the movie which was no surprise considering he'd been fighting trash beasts all day. Normally Enjin would’ve been making teasing remarks about the boy falling asleep on him, but he decided against it since his little zan-zan was being a little endearing and not stealing his girl.
Sure it drove Enjin absolutely insane when the kids took you away from him, but he had to admit that it wasn't too bad when he was included... and within reach of you.
! Zodyl Typhon
Cold Feet
a/n: i think zodyl would be one to enjoy cold weather...
It was freezing in the compound. You could practically see your breath with each exhale as you tried to warm yourself with whatever article of clothing you could find. Nothing was helping. If only you had a space heater.
Your lips pursed in a hard line as the image of something, rather someone, close to a space heater came to mind.
Leaving your room you slipped through the hallways quietly, sticking to the shadows as you made your way to Zodyl's room. The door was locked.
Of course.
Your knuckles tapped against the metal door, just loud enough to be heard, before disappearing under the thin blanket you gripped around your shoulders to keep your frame from shivering in the cold.
The door had barely opened before you were pushing your way inside out of the hallway. If the other raiders seen you sneaking into the boss' room at night there would probably be a mutiny.
"What are you doing?" Zodyl's voice cut through the darkness of his room.
You were scrambling to layer your blanket over his own on the bed before crawling under them to sink into the warm spot where Zodyl had been laying.
"Hurry up and get under the blankets, I'm freezing." You whined, all but grabbing at him to pull him into the bed with you when he was within your reach.
The man huffed, halfheartedly swatting your hands away as he slid himself under the blankets with you.
"We really need to invest in heaters, Zodyl." You fussed in a hushed tone while your limbs entangled themselves around him.
In the darkness Zodyl was nothing but a blurry figure but your hands could feel him and they were mapping him out to you, while you could only imagine the expression knitting on to his face right about now. You stilled against his chest at the realization he was shirtless.
"How are you sleeping in these temperatures without a shirt on?" Your breath fanned against his skin causing a chill to run through his tense figure.
The heat from his skin was flooding into your hands where they'd come to rest on his chest, warming them and you but only partially. You remembered passively that skin on skin contact was better when using the body heat of another to warm yourself.
"It's not that cold." His voice was oddly strained, as if even his vocal cords had contracted at the close contact like the rest of him had, inhibiting him to speak properly.
"Of course you'd say that while putting off more heat than a wood stove." You deadpanned as you wriggled out of the hoodie you'd layered over your sleep shirt. It was discarded onto the floor, as well as your socks that you'd toed off and pushed out from under the blankets.
"Hm, so that's why you're here." Zodyl stated more so to himself rather than you. You being here to simply use him as your personal heater seemed to lessen the tension rolling off of him.
"Mhm." That's when you pressed your cold feet against the exposed skin of his legs where the cotton slacks that he wore to bed failed to cover.
Grumbled curses slipped from the quiet man's lips as he jerked away from your cold skin against his.
"Sorry." You cooed in a sheepish tone as you nestled yourself back into his chest. Even your nose was cold against the bare skin there. A shiver ran through Zodyl, expelling the remaining tension and his desire to resist the intimate contact.
Long lean arms wrapped around you, his hold around you gentle and comforting rather than rough and tense like you had assumed it would be. You could feel him nuzzling into your hair and breathing you in before sighing. The sensation causing you to shiver this time rather than the cool air of the compound.
"We will go into town for heaters tomorrow." The sound of his voice reverberated through his chest as he spoke. It was almost as pleasant as the heavy beat of his heart against your cheek.
"Or I can just continue to sneak into your room at night."
Your voice was soft against his skin. You caught the flutter of his heart and a smile was working its way onto your lips at the effect you were having on the stoic man.
A beat of silence passed between the two of you as Zodyl allowed his full body weight to rest against yours as your fingertips trailed up the lean expanse of his back. This was much better than a space heater.
You think you should equate him to a weighted heating blanket instead.
"It would not be wise to make this a habit."
The weight of Zodyl's stare seen in the day had shifted to his voice in the darkness, the implications of his words settling a heavier weight over you than that of his body.
You were grateful for the darkness hiding the pout that settled on your features. He was always one to nail your feet to the ground to keep your head from floating into the clouds of some unrealistic desire or expectation.
With a huff you conceded knowing there was no point in trying to pursue a failed argument. Instead you shifted to enjoy what you had in the moment. Your fingers lazily trailed up and down the curve of his spine as your eyes fluttered shut.
You were busy trying to commit the rhythm of his heart beat to memory to notice that your breathing had synced with his. Sleep was muddying the focus of your mind while the warmth of his skin seeped into your own through your sleep shirt. There was no way you couldn't not make this a habit.
Heater or no heater, you were going to find every excuse to keep slipping back into his room if it meant falling asleep in his arms like this.
I really liked your found family fic I had an idea what if because rudo and reader are like mother and son now and he starts having nightmares that what happened to recto happens to her so he becomes super clingy and she loves it but enjin gets jealous
a/n: thank you again for sending in this idea, such a good one - hope you enjoy ♥️🌹
Never in his life did Enjin think he’d be jealous of a teenage boy. How could he not be when said teenage boy was cradled in your arms on the couch in the common room, where he should be resting right now after a long day of fighting trash beasts. Enjin’s eye twitched, his fingers followed.
He needed a cigarette.
With a huff Enjin left the common room, digging out the pack of cigarettes in his jacket pocket on the way out. This had been going on for a week and a half now and it was driving Enjin up a wall.
Yes, Enjin knew that, obviously, you were like a mother figure to Rudo, and he loved that for the both of you. However, Rudo’s sudden clingyness was becoming more annoying to him than endearing.
In the mornings Rudo was knocking on your door to entice you to come eat breakfast with him, and despite the grip Enjin had around your waist, the soft kisses he left against your bare shoulders to try to convince you to tell the boy ‘maybe next time’ or ‘I’ll come out for breakfast in an hour’, you always wriggled out of his arms to oblige Rudo’s request.
During downtime at headquarters Rudo was attached to you much like he had been just now. The kid shamelessly latched himself onto you, tucked into your side or with his head on your lap, your fingers stroking through messy white strands while you chatted with the others about anything and everything.
Enjin took a drag of his cigarette as he took a seat on the bench in the courtyard. Smoke pooled out in ribbons above him as he looked up at the hazy clouds of the dimming sky.
It was the same when all of you went to town, or to deal with trash beasts. Rudo would be hot on your heels as if he were your shadow, garnet eyes constantly scanning for any potential threats. As if anyone could attack you in broad day light and live to tale the tale. Not only were you strong but you also had four other cleaners, including himself, with you.
In the back of his mind Enjin had suspected something was off when Rudo was going out of his way to protect you when fighting trash beasts, and more often than not, getting in your way while doing so.
Yet you never said a word, you only smiled and teasingly dubbed Rudo ‘your little knight in shining armor.’ The nickname was enough to irritatingly distract Enjin from the suspiciousness of Rudo’s recent clingy behavior, which he swore you enjoyed.
The cigarette was doing nothing for him. If anything the longer the drags he took, the deeper it pulled him under into the mixture of emotions that stirred in his chest the more he recounted the weeks events.
Enjin had to say the worst part of it all was that he could barely have a moment alone with you. Can't a man makeout with his girlfriend in peace behind whatever door or in whatever dark corner he chose without being interrupted?
A long sigh left him as he put out the half smoked cigarette. He mentally tasked himself with talking to you about Rudo's behavior later tonight but for now he was going back to his room to clean up after a long day.
You had came into Enjin's room later that evening, not bothering to knock as his room was just as much yours as his, and vice versa with your room.
"Enjin?" The sound of his name rolling off your tongue had him sitting up from his position on the bed.
Finally you had escaped your shadow and were now crawling into bed with him, into his arms.
"Hey baby." His voice like velvet surrounded you as he pulled you in for a kiss, slow and deep like he'd been away from you for too long despite being together the majority of the day.
"I was wondering where you wandered off to, everything okay?"
Since you two started dating Enjin hung around in the common room more often than not when you had down time, his routine of prowling the streets for a good time after a long day wonderfully disrupted and discontinued due to you.
Enjin was watching the words pass through your lips, the desire to taste them again instead of telling you what was bothering him threatening to over take him.
Then his eyes flickered to yours, fixating on you briefly before rolling as he let out an exasperated sigh. His head fell back onto the pillows beneath him,
"Yeah. Everything is fine aside from the fact that my girlfriend has basically been taken away from me by a certain snot nosed little boy."
"Taken away?" You laughed airily, "Oh come on Enjin don't tell me you're jealous?"
The man's golden eyes fell on you once more, expression void of amusement. His admission had been a tad dramatic but he was nonetheless jealous.
Your laughter was silenced with his look. Your lashes fluttered in surprise, brows raised and your lips parted to speak but your mind had no words to express. It was hard to believe Enjin would be jealous of a child.
"You are?"
"Uh yeah." He exclaimed, rolling the two of you so that you were underneath him.
You grunted at the sudden weight of him as he settled on top of you, resting his head against your chest.
"How can I not be? I can hardly get within a foot of you without him pulling you away somewhere or clinging to you - taking my spot."
The last bit was grumbled into the fabric of your shirt as he nuzzled his face into your chest as if to hide.
A knock sounded at Enjin's bedroom door, interrupting his complaint. Both of your attentions went toward the door wondering who would be on the other side. An irritated sigh left Enjin as he reluctantly rolled himself off of you.
When Enjin opened the door Rudo stood outside, trying to peer past his broad shoulders into the bedroom.
"Is --- with you? She's not in her room." Rudo asked as Enjin stepped out into the hallway shutting the door behind him.
"Yeah she's with me."
Enjin's expression remained passive but his eyes were piercing, searching for the reason of Rudo's ever growing anxious attachment to you. He watched as the tension left the boy's shoulders, a soft sigh of relief escaped his lips.
"You look worried. Something going on that I need to know about?"
Enjin's tone was gentle but firm. The validation of his suspicions that something was off spurring him to get to the heart of the issue.
"N-no, I just... just wanted to make sure she uh..." Rudo's brows were drawing tightly together as he rubbed the back of his neck, his gaze not meeting Enjin's.
Silence settled between the two as Enjin patiently waited for Rudo to answer him. There was no way Enjin was letting him get out of telling him what was going on.
"She what?" The blonde prodded gently, his voice dropping to a lower soothing register.
"Got to her room safe...." Rudo said, barely above a whisper.
"And why wouldn't she get to her room safe?" His patience was running thin at the possibility of your endangerment, and anyone else's.
Rudo was silent before haunted garnet eyes raised to meet Enjin's.
"I just... keep having this nightmare that she... that she ends up like Regto."
The boy's words settled over the both of them in a heavy silence.
Seconds ticked by as Enjin rolled over Rudo's anxiety in his own mind, trying to find an appropriate response to his fears.
"There is no way that would happen." Enjin suddenly says with a wave of one of his large tattooed hands, as if to swat away the tormentors of Rudo's mind. "You've seen that woman fight and honestly I'd be horrified to go against her myself."
"Besides..." The same hand settled on Rudo's head, giving his hair a reassuring ruffle, "You're forgetting I'm here too. Do you honestly think I'd let anyone hurt the woman I love?"
"No." Rudo conceded, his eyes dropping from Enjin's. His fists loosened as he let Enjin continue to ruffle his hair, the simple affection placating his fears as much as Enjin's words had.
After encouraging Rudo to turn in for the night Enjin stepped back into his room, a heavy sigh of relief leaving him. Not to say he wasn't still concerned about Rudo's sleeping habits and nightmares, he was hoping after their conversation that the teen would allow you more space going forward.
Inside Enjin’s room you were waiting for him, sitting in the same spot on his bed you'd been in when he'd gotten up to answer the door.
"Is Rudo okay?"
Enjin didn't say anything until he was back on the bed with you, making himself comfortable in your arms once more and hoping there would be no more interruptions for the remainder of the night.
"Yeah, I sent your little knight off to bed assuring him you were safe with me."
"And slayed any worry of his nightmares coming to life. My prince charming."
Your words made Enjin's head snap up so he could look at you.
"You were eavesdropping." It was a statement more than a question.
A giggle left you as you carded your fingers through his hair, the sensation easing away the pout at his lips as he stared at you through heavy lidded eyes.
"I had to make sure you weren't going to be too hard on him."
Enjin snorted before letting his head fall back to your chest.
"You spoil him too much." He grumbled against the fabric of your shirt, letting his eyes close to revel in the feeling of the ministrations of your fingers through his hair.

Don’t Stare
It started when the three of you stopped in at a restaurant in town after a long day of traveling. You had taken your seat next to Zodyl at the table on the outside, across from Cthoni.
None of you were talking except for when you gave your orders for food. When the waitress left you felt eyes on you. Out of your peripheral you noticed the men at a table across from you staring at you.
You chose to ignore it.
However, it didn’t escape Zodyl’s notice and he wasn’t ignoring it.
You caught his eye when he gave you a side long glance.
“What?” You asked quietly, he usually didn’t look at you unless he had something to say.
Then he turned to you fully, “Switch seats with me.”
He was already getting up, leaving no room for you to challenge him.
Your lips parted to speak but he was already waiting for you to take his seat at the inside of the table.
“Oh…Kay?” Was all you said as you slid over into his chair.
While you took his seat Zodyl had shot a look over to the men that had been ogling you. His eyes never wavering from them as he sat down, blocking the majority of the view they had of you.
The men squirmed under the unsettling gaze of your boss and quickly turned their attention elsewhere.
Cthoni had glanced between the two of you but didn’t bother to question what had just happened.
•
The next time it happened you were meeting with some sleazy trafficker that “had information on the sphere” or so you had heard through the grapevine.
As Zodyl and the man spoke you stood off to the side, watching for any unwelcome guests. Every now and then you caught the glances the man would give you. How his eyes would drag themselves along your figure before looking back at Zodyl.
At some point Zodyl took a step to the side, blocking the man’s line of sight to you.
And when you left, Zodyl instructed you to walk in front of him to shield you from the man’s view. You looked up at Zodyl in question to his actions but he didn’t spare you any attention.
•
The third time it happened you were beginning to notice a pattern. You were with Zodyl walking through town, after another failed experiment with a trash beast, when you requested to pass through the town’s market before heading home.
He obliged.
Zodyl stood off to the side while you looked over the goods one of the sellers had to offer, blissfully unaware of the young man who had been eyeing you from the next stall over.
The young man was working up the courage to come talk to you until Zodyl decided to step in.
You nearly jumped out of your skin when you felt a warm palm settle at your back. It was Zodyl, leaning down to speak lowly in your ear.
“Hurry along. We have a long walk a head of us.”
A blush settled across your cheeks at the physical contact as you gave him a soft nod. You turned back to try to hastily decide if you wanted the hair pin you’d been eying.
When Zodyl’s hand ghosted along your back to settle at your waist instead of falling back to his side, you tried to ignore the tingling sensation his touch sent down your spine.
Really, what had gotten into him? Something had to have irked him for him to act like this.
You glanced up at him from under your lashes, caught his line of sight and followed it. From what you could see there were no potential threats, no sign of an enemy.
That’s when you noticed the young man at the next stall over, looking utterly defeated before turning away after one last glance at you.
You blinked, lashes fluttering in realization of what had just happened before looking up at Zodyl. You caught him watching as the young man disappeared into the crowd before his eyes dropped to yours.
“Are you not going to buy that hair pin?”
His question had you sputtering, you were still trying to grasp what had just happened. What was still happening, you could feel the warmth radiating from his palm through the fabric of your shirt.
Your cheeks colored a rosy shade of pink as you tried to answer. “I uh- y-yes I am.”
Zodyl’s hand, to your dismay, fell from your waist as you paid the seller for the hair pin. It was a pretty thing jeweled with small delicate amethyst stones.
You slipped it into your hair as you fell into step next to Zodyl, leaving the market and the town behind. Nothing was said about what happened in the market, nothing needed to be. You decided you’d rather enjoy your boss’ possessiveness protectiveness over you in silence than ruining it by speaking it out of existence.
Ryomen Sukuna ! Heian Era
Lip Prints
The servants dared not look at the scene that was unfolding each time they passed into Sukuna's study for whatever reason, be it to bring fresh tea or fruit for you, who was currently was covering Sukuna with your affections. Literally.
Sukuna, the king of curses, was littered in red lip prints.
And if anyone dared to look for too long, have an upturn of their lips, or a hint of amusement in their eyes - they were dead. Sukuna was still murderous regardless of how you, his precious little wife, decided to adorn him with your love.
A shiver ran down Sukuna’s spine when your lips pressed against the sensitive spot right below his ear where the tattoo on his neck came to an end. One of his hands that was now resting heavy on the small of your back to steady you in his lap, twitched against the fabric of the layered silk robes you wore.
Sukuna had never gotten used to how your touch involuntarily affected him. He considered it a weak and vulnerable thing to tremble under the gentle touch of another, especially a human woman, but that very thing was what made him fall in love with you.
Your lips landed on his pulse next, it thrummed strong under your kiss. Sukuna’s lower eyes fell to look down at you. As always you were blissfully unaware of how you were his undoing.
When you began to repeat the same pattern on the other side of his neck, a sharp intake of breath followed by a low rumbled sigh came from Sukuna.
“You troublesome woman.” He hummed in resignation when you placed a kiss on his Adam’s apple to connect the pattern of lip prints to both sides of his neck.
You smiled at the term of endearment. Sukuna often called you troublesome when you had him like putty in your hands.
Sukuna's hand moved up from the small of your back and tangled itself in your hair as your lips trailed down from his neck to his chest where it was exposed by his robe. You pushed the fabric open wider to cover the skin above his heart with a collage of lip prints.
A short huff came from above you, as if finding your placement of affection right above his heart amusing. You looked up at your husband to find him staring down at you, having abandoned his tasks that lay upon the table behind you to shift his full attention to you.
The lips of the mouth at his stomach pressed a kiss against your palms that had trailed down to his abdomen. A blush rose to your cheeks at the familiar heavy lidded gaze that donned your husband's features.
"Are you sure you want to continue with what you’re doing?"
The low rumble of his voice threatened to melt you on the spot. You worried your bottom lip between your teeth in debate. When you didn't answer him promptly one of his fingers anchored under your chin and tilted your face up towards him.
"Yes, but I want you to behave yourself Sukuna."
You pouted at him. You weren't done covering your canvas after all.
Laughter filled Sukuna's study. It wasn't often someone managed to make him laugh outside of a thrilling battle but it was you who usually managed to.
A smirk settled on Sukuna’s features after his laughter had died down. “Alright, petal. I’ll concede.”
Before allowing you to continue, he led you upwards to his lips. He took your painted red lips captive with his own. As promised he tempered himself, the kiss was slow and deep, and only lingered long enough to darken the blush on your cheeks.
When the two of you parted his smirk grew seeing your pout being melted away by the flustered expression he’d left you with.
“Continue as you please.”

a/n: I just want to sit in his lap and yap to him T.T
Take A Seat
You had just gotten back from a long assignment gathering information for Zodyl. However, somewhere along the line trash beasts and traffickers got involved. You handled it but you were exhausted, your whole body hurt, especially your feet.
The only thing you wanted to do was go collapse onto your bed and sleep for the next two days, but you had to go report back to Zodyl with your findings.
You found him sitting in the dimly lit room of the warehouse where he often resided. Cages floating from the ceiling above and only a television screen lighting the room.
At first he didn’t look at you but when you came to stand directly in front of him his eyes shifted from the television screen to you.
“I have some information you’re going to want to hear.”
Zodyl said nothing, he simply remained silent, waiting for you to continue.
“But I’m going to need to sit down before I collapse.”
Zodyl’s eyes left you to look around the room for a reasonable place for you to sit but you already had in mind where you were going to take a seat.
Without ceremony you stepped in the space between his legs and slipped your arm around his shoulders as you lowered yourself down onto his thigh.
Zodyl froze. Sitting in his lap was like sitting on a wooden bench. You assessed his expression. The poor man was short circuiting with one too many emotions trying to surface at once.
“Why do you think this is appropriate?”
Genuine curiosity was laced in the question but amethyst eyes were piercing into yours trying to find out where your boldness was coming from.
Your tired eyes matched his, unfazed by his look. For a moment you considered his question, letting your eyes wander to the cages above you.
“I don’t but I’m not sitting on the floor or on some uncomfortable piece of trash.”
Silence filled the space between the two of you as if he was considering your answer… or considering throwing you off of him.
You knew he conceded when you felt the rigidity of his shoulders dissipate. Your eyes shifted back to him but his had shifted away back to the screen in front of him.
He was choosing to ignore your choice of seating. Your other arm came up to complete the encirclement around his shoulders as you made your self comfortable against him.
Your voice was soft and droning as you relayed the information you’d gathered. To keep yourself occupied awake, you’d mindlessly let one hand come up to brush back silver strands that were threatening to fall out of place behind Zodyl’s ear.
The action had earned you an uneasy look, like a feral animal unsure if it liked the affection or if it should strike out of fear.
You ignored his stare but cut the action short, letting your fingers fall away and settle back around his shoulders.
While you continued to speak, you couldn't help but notice how warm Zodyl was and how he relaxed against you after you had rested your head against his own.
Your eyes began to droop and your speech slowed in cadence. A soft yawn threatened to leave your lips but you stifled it.
At some point Zodyl’s arm had come up to wrap around your waist. You could’ve swore you felt him pull you closer into him.
“And I’m pretty sure fighting that last trash beast blew my shoulder out.” You grumbled after you concluded the information you’d gathered.
“And my feet hurt so bad.” A yawn did escape you this time. “I probably have blisters.”
The television was softly buzzing with static now that the weather forecast had ended. Outside of that silence had settled between the two of you once again.
Your eyes were closing and you had unconsciously nuzzled into Zodyl’s hair. The action causing him to tense but you were too tired to take note of the reaction.
He smelt like the earth and musk, it was oddly comforting.
Zodyl remained quiet. You’d expected him to dismiss you. If he had you would’ve grumbled about having to leave the warmth of his embrace to walk back to your room on sore feet. Instead he held you firmly against himself, slipped his free hand under your knees, and lifted you as he stood.
A soft sound of surprise left you, not expecting to be carried but you happily nestled yourself into the crook of his neck.
Zodyl carried you back to your room without a word. If you hadn't been so tired you were sure you would've been flustered by the generous act but instead you were able to simply savor the moment. You highly doubted there would be another like it.
You couldn't help the frown you felt tugging at your lips when Zodyl sat you down on your mattress, his comforting warmth leaving you. Amethyst eyes captured yours as he pulled away and you felt the word 'stay' forming at your lips, but you refrained from doing so.
It was already a miracle in and of itself he had let you so close.
"Thank you." You said instead, giving him a tired smile.
Zodyl's eyes fell to your lips where your smile sat, before moving back to your eyes. He was analyzing your features, obviously deliberating something.
Then cautiously, his hand rose to meet your face. Rough finger tips ghosted down the curve of your cheek and brushed back a few stray strands of hair behind your ear as you had his earlier, as if testing the affectionate gesture out for himself.
It felt foreign to him.
The emotions you had stirred within him felt foreign too as he thought himself incapable of feeling such things as affection.
You didn't move as he completed the motion, afraid you'd disrupt what ever experiment he was conducting if you reacted. When his hand fell back to his side and his stoic expression settled back onto his face, you let out the breath you were holding.
"Goodnight." Zodyl murmured as he turned away from you, leaving you alone to process this new side of him you had just witnessed.

Toji Fushiguro Head Canons
Toji’s love language is physical touch. there’s not ever a moment his hands aren’t on you. and it doesn’t matter if you’re out in public either. he wants to wrap his arms around your waist and rest his chin on your head while you’re browsing whatever you’re shopping for? he’s doing it. you’re at a friends house chatting, each of you within your own conversation, his hand is heavy resting on whatever part of you he can get a hold of. it could be your hand, arm, thigh, heck even your ankle that's propped at just the right angle for him to grab when your sitting opposite of him with your legs crossed, he’s rubbing small circles against your skin. that being said you know that man is a cuddler, he’s like an oversized teddy bear that nearly suffocates you every time because he insists on you being the big spoon.
Toji has never stopped flirting with you. ever since day one he’s been the biggest flirt. sometimes it’s corny and sometimes he has your heart doing flips in your chest. but your favorite is when he will come over to you unexpectedly when you’re out with friends or even when you’re home on a lazy weekend, and whisper some sweet nothing in your ear and place a kiss at the top of your shoulder.
Toji who affectionately calls you his good luck charm. anytime he buys a lottery ticket he's asking, "touch this ticket for me doll and give me some of that good luck ya got." or he'll ask you to come to a horse race with him and pick out which horse you think will win. and when he's going off for a job, "ma, come give me a kiss, i'm gonna need all the luck i can get for this one." the wild part about it all is that your "good luck" works every time. you tease him constantly saying one day he's going to use up all your luck and the two of you will be the unluckiest pair that ever lived.
Toji prefers phone calls over texts. that man HATES texting for numerous reasons, but he enjoys hearing your voice over reading a text from you. when the two of you first got together he would always call you right before you went to bed, and sometimes before work in the morning, like clockwork. he is still in the habit of doing this if for some reason (work) he's not home with you. there were also a handful of times the two of you fell asleep on a phone call and didn't realize it until you woke up the next morning (it was typically you who woke up to the sound of Toji's snores, man saws logs in his sleep.)
Gachiakuta • Multi Character ! Zodyl & Enjin
Little Black Dress
a/n: I’m in love with both of them and couples on TikTok keep giving me ideas.
Zodyl
You were going out to dinner with an acquaintance, one who was said to have information that could be valuable to Zodyl in his endeavors to destroy the Sphere.
Normally Zodyl would've went with you to gather potential intel as he was the sort to want to hear it first hand, but when you warned him of your acquaintance being weary of new people and the possibility that they may not give all the information promised because of his presence, he reluctantly agreed you should go alone.
Zodyl's eyes fixed on your figure as you walked into the dimly lit room of the warehouse where he often resided and called the others to discuss any assignments or strategies. The sound of your heels echoed through the room as you made your way over to where he sat.
As you were informing him of where you and your acquaintance would be meeting and how late you’d planned to be, you noticed Zodyl’s eyes straying from yours to trail over your figure. Which was out of character for him because he always held eye contact with you when listening or speaking to you.
You weren’t the type to be self conscious but you were beginning to squirm under his gaze that followed every line of the dress that clung to you. Deep amethyst eyes locked with yours when you finished speaking, withholding any hint as to what was going through his mind at that moment. It was frustrating not being able to read him.
“Report back to me immediately when you have the information and don’t be late.”
Zodyl’s words were like hands manifesting themselves to take hold of you and draw you closer to tower over him. Even with him sitting you felt smaller than him under the intensity of his gaze. Your knees felt weak, like they were going to give out from under you.
Then you blinked and he was looking away from you, dismissing you from his presence. You said nothing as you left the room, a hand coming up over your chest in an attempt to settle the fluttering of your heart.
Enjin
It felt odd walking the halls of the cleaners headquarters not in your uniform or your lounge clothes, but in a dress that complimented your figure and style in a way only August could craft for you. The heels you’d found to match, clicking softly as you walked.
You ran into Enjin in the hallway past the common room on your way out. Golden eyes locking onto you with an intensity that would've made you uncomfortable had it not been Enjin.
"Hey girl," His velvety voice beckoning you to him, "Where you goin'?"
You couldn’t help but giggle at his flirty smirk as you paused to talk with him. The moment you'd paused in your step his hands were on you. Long tattooed fingers trailing down your arms, coming to take your hands in his own.
"Out to dinner with some friends."
His eyes were drinking you in like you were a tall glass of water to a man dying of thirst.
"Why not cancel and go out with me instead?" Enjin teased, looking at you with half lidded eyes. His hands were guiding yours to encircle your arms around his neck.
That earned an eye roll from you as you obliged in his hands guiding yours. You were so accustomed to his devices at that point it was like a game of cat and mouse for the two of you.
Your fingers ran up the back of his neck, up the curve of his skull to embed themselves in long blonde locks. You twirled your fingers around them as Enjin nuzzled his face into the crook of your neck, long arms wrapping around your waist and pulling you closer to him.
"You smell nice." His breath fanned against your collar bone, tickling you.
"I have to go Enjin." You fussed halfheartedly, your arms unraveling from around his neck.
When you pulled away he obliged but kept an arm around your waist, grinning so his dimples made an appearance. "Okay, I won't keep you. Lets go, I'll drive."
You laughed, he was too cute for his own good and those dimples were the cherry on top. "No, Enjin you're staying here."

Wrong Room
You had woken up in the middle of the night needing to use the restroom and of course nothing was well lit in the recently acquired compound where the raiders were residing. So what you thought was the correct way to get back to your room was not. Instead of a right you’d taken a left and the room at the end of the hall on the right was not your room.
The door shut behind you with a soft click. You were practically sleep walking at this point as slumber was dragging you down back into it’s depths. Which was why you didn’t register the bed you were crawling into was also not yours. You promptly fell back asleep as soon as your head hit the pillow and the sheets were drawn up around your shoulders.
Next to you lay Zodyl, who had awoke as soon as he’d heard the soft click of the door. Bleak eyes watched you in the dim light of the room pad over to his bed and comfortably settle yourself in next to him.
For a long while he laid there, waiting to see if you were plotting something nefarious but when you didn’t make a move he concluded you’d simply gotten lost.
Carefully he shifted next to you onto his side to gaze at your sleeping figure. What little light flooded into his room from the night sky illuminated your features.
It was fuzzy but he could make out how your lashes fanned against the plush curve of your cheek, the soft part of your lips where deep slow breaths began and ended.
Your expression was soft, absent of the permanent scowl that you wore on your waking features. Hands smaller than his own rested in front of you between the two of you, one over lapping the other.
His eyes paused on them. When he’d first met you he hadn’t expected those same hands to hold so much power within them.
The sudden deep inhale of breath from you caught his attention. His eyes flickered back to your face, waiting for your eyes to open and stare back at him but they never did. Your shoulders fell and rose in accordance to your breathing that had resumed it’s previous pace.
Eyes moved along your figure, tracing the slope of your shoulder, trailing down to the dip of your waist, up the curve of your hip and down where your legs were curled up toward yourself.
If he bent his own legs, Zodyl was sure his knees would collide with your shins. He didn’t move. He wasn’t waking you, not when he could study you unguarded.
Absently he observed that you were beautiful. Not that he couldn’t see that in waking hours, but more so now in your state of vulnerability.
You looked so fragile. Delicate.
A twinge of an emotion he had yet to feel peaked his interest. What… was this? His eyes scanned your features as if he would find the answer there.
You mumbled something or another in your sleep and for a fleeting moment your brow furrowed, face threatening to take shape into your usual scowl. Then it softened,
“Zodyl.”
His eyes fell to your lips where you spoke his name barely above a whisper. That same unnamed emotion producing a strange feeling of strings being gently tugged at inside of his chest.
You had never said his name like that while you were awake, and surely not with that expression.
What were you dreaming about?
He’d never know. You fell silent after that.
With each passing moment more light began to flood into the room, evidence that it was dawning a new day.
Zodyl hadn’t moved, his eyes had never left your figure. The dark smudges under his eyes held more depth to them than they did before as he’d refused to fall back asleep since your arrival.
He watched your eyelids flutter in irritation due to the rays of light hitting them, drawing you out of your slumber. A frown was threatening to form at Zodyl’s lips because he knew that this version of you was soon to be whisked away from him.
There was a high probability he’d never see this side of you again, not unless there was some way to get you to wander into his room when you got lost in the compound at night.
Nothing was coming to mind to bring that about.
Abysmal eyes met yours when you woke, sending a cold chill down your spine so frigid your frame shook from it.
Instinct had you scrambling back away from Zodyl, nearly sending yourself off the edge of the bed. You let out a yelp when you felt yourself about to fall but a large hand grabbed your wrist and a strong arm wrapped around your waist to pull you back into the bed with ease.
You sucked in a sharp breath as Zodyl tucked you firmly against himself, your palms flattening against his bare chest in attempt to prevent him from pulling you any closer to him.
Wide eyes met dark depths again in shock and confusion.
“W-What do you think you’re doing?” You asked breathlessly in disbelief.
Your mind was reeling, what was he doing in your bed? Was he watching you sleep? The thought horrified you, what if you said or did something embarrassing in your sleep?
Zodyl’s expression was unreadable as ever, eyes intense with emotions you could not decipher drowning in their depths. The only thing that gave you any insight to what he was feeling was the rapid pace of his heartbeat beneath the palms of your hands.
“Preventing you from falling out of the bed.”
He deadpanned as if it wasn’t the most obvious thing in the world.
The familiar scowl you wore whenever you spoke to him had returned. You noticed a look of disappointment begin to take hold in his features.
“That’s not what I’m talking about.”
Your cheeks were burning hot from the close proximity, hyper aware of every point of contact.
Zodyl’s thumb brushed over the pulse point at the inside of your wrist. Surely he could feel your pulse beating as rapidly as his own.
“Clarify.”
“Seriously?” You huffed, voice quiet but pitched high in your flustered state.
It was like he didn’t realize what an intimate position he had the two of you in, and how his arm was still firmly settled around your waist anchoring you to him even though you were out of danger of falling.
“You’re in my bed!” You all but hissed, “Watching me sleep,”
You were pushing against his chest for him to take the hint to let you go.
Silence settled over the two of you.
Then Zodyl spoke, “Are you sure this is your bed?”
The question took you off guard and before you could retort that you were positive it was your bed, you caught sight of something unfamiliar in the pattern of the walls behind him.
Oh.
This wasn’t your bed.
This wasn’t your room.
You began to feel dizzy at the sudden rush of blood to your face and instinctively you buried your face in your hands. That didn’t make anything better considering your hands were at Zodyl’s chest.
A soft sigh left the man. His hand released your wrist and his arm uncoiled from around your waist, his fingers brushing against the curve of your hip accidentally as he did so. It set your nerve endings on fire in a way that wasn’t unpleasant.
You remained with your face in your hands as you struggled to collect yourself.
Beside you the mattress shifted as Zodyl left the bed. You could hear his foot steps moving away from you and it gave you the courage to peak at him from behind your fingers to see if he was angry with you.
That was a mistake. Your face couldn’t flush any more red than what it already was, and you couldn’t bring yourself to look away from the dark haired man who’s bare upper body you could now fully see in the morning light.
He was slender, you knew, but you didn’t expect defined lean muscle to be prominent in his figure, contorting and taking shape with each movement as he pulled his white button up shirt around broad shoulders.
If only a trash beast would break through the window and kill you now to save you from the embarrassment and the other range of emotions you were currently experiencing.
“Stay here for a while longer.” Zodyl began, you could see him making quick work of the buttons of his shirt.
“I’ll make sure the others don’t see you leaving my room.”
His eyes found yours. You were positive he knew you were staring.
Your fingers drug along your face as he left the room without another word, the door shutting softly behind him.
A low groan escaped you as you buried your face into one of the pillows. This had to be the most painfully embarrassing moments of your life but yet your mind and body was clinging to how it felt to be in his arms.
You nuzzled into the pillow further, his scent invading your senses as you tried to regain your composure.
It might be a while before you were able to leave his room.

Make a Wish
a/n: inspired by this tik tok - something cute /poetic about it
You slipped into the passenger seat of the jeep, the door shutting heavy behind you. Enjin was settling into the driver’s seat, his door shutting just as heavy as yours had.
You’d lost count of the number of trash beasts you’d both taken care of that day. The two of you sat in silence staring blankly out of the windshield, taking the time to catch your breath before you made the drive back to headquarters.
Enjin was the first to move, reaching for the pack of cigarettes in his pocket. With a gentle tap of the pack against the steering wheel one of the cigarettes popped out the pack’s opening.
The cigarette came out upside down.
Cigarettes that were upside down in the pack were considered the lucky ones and were usually saved for last, but with Enjin those were the ones he requested you wish upon before he smoked them.
He held it out in front of you, gesturing for you to take it out of the pack. You did, like always.
“Make a wish.” He said, his head resting on the headrest rolled over toward you. Heavy lidded eyes whose color rivaled that of the finest gold captured your gaze. There was so much that you’d yet to discover hidden in their depths.
You placed the cigarette between his lips, you never told him what you wished for but it was the same wish every time.
Enjin handed you the lighter and you lit the cigarette for him. With a long drag the silence burned between you. The lighter snapped shut and smoke filled the jeep’s cabin.
The familiar smell eased the tension you carried from the day as you both settled back into your seats. Enjin cranked the jeep, cracking the window to let the smoke filter out.
“What did you wish for?” He asked, taking another long drag as he shifted the jeep’s gear into drive.
For a moment you didn’t answer, just gave him the same fond smile you always gave him when he asked that question.
“If I tell you it won’t come true.”
He laughed. The same way he always did at your answer. Enjin reached over and took your hand in his own, his thumb brushing slowly over your knuckles.
You rode like this in silence all the way back to headquarters. The wish you always made echoing in your mind.

personal space
You were lounging on the couch in the common room, knees tucked to your chest, back against the arm rest with a book in hand. A smile was threatening to break across your lips as you came upon a funny scene in the story.
Your eyes were too busy scanning the page to care that Enjin had come to sit next to you, taking up more space than he needed as always. One arm lazily draping across the back of the couch, legs spread and stretched out wide like he was the only one sitting there.
His head lolled back against the couch cushion as he took a long drag of his cigarette before pulling it away from his lips.
“Whatcha readin’ giggles?” Enjin asked at the laugh that finally escaped you.
The smoke he’d inhaled was rolling out from his lips as he spoke creating intricate ribbons above the two of you.
You were trying to contain your laughter at what you were reading as your legs moved on their own and spread out across Enjin’s lap.
“Nothing you’d be interested in.” You teased absently, “It’s a romance.”
“What makes you think I wouldn’t be interested because of that?” His head tilted to you, honey eyes flickering to your legs that were bare due to you wearing shorts, before settling on your face. The hand that held the cigarette between his fingers rested on top of one of your thighs like it belonged there.
You didn’t fold. Even though his calloused palm was warm against your skin.
You turned the page, “You don’t really strike me as the romantic type.”
Your giggles had faded, not because what you were reading wasn’t funny anymore but because your focus was else where.
Enjin’s thumb was tapping lightly against your thigh in thought, as if he were rolling around your assessment of him in his head trying to decide if it was actually true or not.
“That so? I think I can be romantic.” His eyes were still trained on your face. He noticed your eyes had stopped scanning the page. You weren’t reading anymore though you feigned to be.
The absurdity of his statement earned a snort from you. “Oh and what’s your idea of romance? Parking lot date with a drive thru meal?”
Your eyes rolled before they met his golden ones. You hadn’t realized how intently he’d been looking at you till now. His thumb had stopped tapping and was resting still against your thigh. Your breath threatened to catch in your throat but no, you refused to buckle under the weight of his stare.
You quirked a brow at him even though your heart was doing somersaults in your chest.
Wordlessly you reached for his cigarette and took it from him, never breaking his gaze.
It threw him off.
“Hey-“
He’d began and made an attempt to take it from you. It was too late. Your lips were already wrapped around the filter and you took a long drag. The smoke filled your lungs, it burned on the way down but your composure held strong.
A smirk formed at your lips as you held the cigarette away from Enjin over your head. He was reaching over you, he’d grabbed it but now his face was only inches from yours.
His eyes had turned to molten honey watching you take a drag from his cigarette. He broke your gaze to stare down at your lips as smoke began to pour out from between them.
For a moment he leaned in closer, the desire to inhale the smoke directly from your lips evident in his features.
“Oh gross get a room.”
It was Zanka’s voice that broke the tension and snapped the two of you back into reality. You didn’t dare look around to see who else was watching the two of you in the common room, or rather trying to ignore the two of you, and the smothering tension you were creating.
Heat was beginning to rise to your cheeks as Enjin snatched away what was left of his cigarette from you. The two of you settled back onto the couch, desiring to make less of a scene.
But your legs didn’t move from his lap and his hand went back to resting against your thigh after he’d taken a drag from his cigarette, trying to pretend your lips weren’t just on it.
Thank goodness you could hide your blush in the pages of your book, something Enjin didn’t have the advantage of. You could see the red tips of his ears from the blush he wore despite him having laid his head back against the couch turned away from you.
