Gachikuta x reader! who owns a plush that they love and sleep with; just fluffy! ♡
Zanka
The first time he notices, it’s by accident.
You’ve passed out after a long shift, curled around that tiny, threadbare plush like it’s a lifeline. Zanka walks in to drop off a repaired weapon, stops dead, and squints.
“…That's a— what is that?” he mutters. The plush stares back with one button eye and a suspicious tilt of the head.
He’s silent for a full ten seconds before huffing a low laugh. “Of course. You survive garbage beasts, but sleep with a stuffed thing smaller than my fist.”
Later, he acts cool about it — but you catch him side-eyeing it like it’s competition. “You hug that every night?” he asks, leaning against the doorframe. “What’s it got that I don't, huh?”
You raise an eyebrow. “Softness. No attitude.”
He snorts, pretending that didn’t sting. “Hah. Fair.”
Still, he gets oddly protective. If anyone so much as jokes about your plush being “trash,” he’s suddenly very intense about explaining the difference between trash and treasure.
One poor Cleaner learned this the hard way. (“Say that again about the plush, I dare you.”)
One night, when you’re asleep, the plush tumbles off the bed. Zanka grumbles, picks it up, and dusts it off like it’s made of gold. He tucks it back under your arm and mutters, “Little idiot… can’t even stay put.”
Next morning, you notice someone’s repaired a loose seam. The thread’s the same color as Zanka’s coat. He denies it outright.
“Don’t look at me. Maybe it fixed itself.”
He’s smirking, but his ears are pink.
Rudo
Rudo spots it immediately the first time he visits your room. “Whoa, that plush has been through hell!” he says, picking it up with absolute awe.
You glare. “Don’t touch it with those grimy hands!”
He grins wide. “Relax! I’m not disrespecting it — I’m admiring it. Look at these stitches! Battle scars! This plush has lived a life!”
He’s fascinated by how long you’ve kept it. Starts asking ridiculous questions like, “So if it fell in the Pit, you’d dive after it, right? …Right?”
You say you’d probably dive after it. He nods solemnly. “Good answer. Shows you’ve got priorities.”
You try reminding him you were all in the Pit but he didn't hear that-
Rudo starts treating the plush like a team mascot. During downtime, he’ll hold it up and make it “talk”:
“Oi, (Y/N)! Rudo says clean your tools!”
“Hey Rudo, maybe you should clean your attitude!”
He even gives it a handmade accessory: a tiny scarf made from scrap fabric. “Now it’s got armor,” he says proudly.
It’s horribly uneven. You love it anyway.
When the plush accidentally gets smudged with grime, Rudo panics more than you do. He literally washes it by hand in the nearest water tank, humming some off-key tune while talking to it.
"You’ve been through worse, buddy. Don’t tell (Y/N) I dunked you.”
If you catch him doing this, he shrieks, denies everything, and immediately blames you.
“You left it unattended! What was I supposed to do, let it get dusty?!”
Talks about it like it's a sentient being-
“If I ever die, tell the plush I said hi. Actually, nah, tell it to avenge me.”
From that day on, the plush sits next to the tools when he’s working. He says it brings “good luck.” You know it’s because it makes him feel safe.
Enjin
Enjin doesn’t comment at first. You figure he either hasn’t noticed or simply doesn’t care. Then, one evening, while you’re cleaning equipment, he says:
“That stuffed animal you keep… it’s interesting.”
You blink. “Interesting?”
He nods slowly, studying it like he’s analyzing an ancient artifact. “Objects absorb the emotions of their owners. Yours has seen grief, joy, fear, rest. It’s… well-loved. Remarkable, really.”
You laugh nervously. “It’s just a plush, Enjin.”
“Just a plush,” he repeats, almost amused. “If that were true, you wouldn’t still keep it after all this time.”
Later, you catch him crouched beside it, carefully patching up a frayed spot with surgical precision using a Cleaners’ repair tool. “The stuffing was all coming out,” he explains without looking up.
Though seeing him squatting next to your bed, eyes scrunched up in concentration while fixing a plush was not on your bingo card-
When you thank him, he says simply, “You’d do the same for something precious.” Then, after a beat: “Also, its left button eye was loose. I tightened it. It was…creepy as fuc-”
He’s the kind of person who will, bow slightly or salute to the plush when you leave for missions.
You ask what he’s doing; he says with a grin, “Respecting the guardian that keeps you calm. Surely it deserves acknowledgement.”
You seriously can't tell if he's joking or not anymore.
You start calling the plush “Captain Plush.” Enjin stifles his laughs — but he starts using the title too.
“Captain Plush will remain on standby during your shift.”
“Captain Plush disapproves of your lack of rest.”
You’re 99% sure he’s teasing you. The other 1%? He might actually mean it.
𝒢𑄺 — Zanka wont say you’re dating, but there will be signs

Rudo’s had a long day, fighting trash beasts, training exhausted him at the end of the day— and all he wants to do is unwind and relax with the others before bed.
but he notices something.
when did you and Zanka get so…close?
he is well aware you guys are close, but as he chats with the other cleaners, his eyes drift to the two of you, half engaged in the conversation, the other half of you too busy giggling at something Zanka said, his arm lazily resting on the back of the couch behind you.
“when did zanka become funny?” Rudo mutters in confusion, not intending to say it out loud. Zanka, you and enjin, who’s smirking mischievously as if he knows something Rudo doesn’t, look at him. “what? did you say my name?” zanka asks, slightly suspicious.
Rudo’s ears flush red, turning away from his gaze, “oh- uhh, nothing.” he plays it off not-so cooly, but Zanka just shrugs, going back to his past conversation.
He notices it all, the way zanka subtly shifts closer to you, how he leans in close to talk to you, and his cheeks— which are dusted with pink.
Zanka surprisingly doesn’t mind the proximity too, your head is borderline resting on his chest, and your knees are pressed together, he would’ve instantly moved away if it was anyone else.
but its different when its you.

the mission didn’t go as planned, there were casualties— too many— including you. zanka hasn’t left your side once, he’s hunched over where you lay in the infirmary, your body covered in cuts and bruises as you sleep off your injuries from earlier.
rudo comes in to visit, his hands holding a little bouquet of sweet scented flowers, and enjin towers behind him. He stands beside Zanka, placing a hand on his shoulder.
“she’ll be alright, don’t worry too much, eh?” he says, but zanka doesn’t look up, his eyes remained glued to your face just waiting for you to wake up and to tell him your okay.
Rudo steps forward hesitantly, placing the flowers beside your bed, he spots zanka holding your hand tight, thumb stroking along your knuckles, which are painted with dark bruises and grazes.
he finally glances up and the two others, his face pale with worry and eyes blown wide from earlier adrenaline. “You don’t look so good.” Rudo states, taking in his complexion.
Enjin snorts, “he’s worried about his girl- of course.” his hand goes up to ruffle his hair, as zanka attempts to hide his face, which is bright pink with slight embarrassment from being so openly called out.
his girl? interesting…

Zanka’s sick— as much as he tried to deny it and play it off, he found himself at your bedroom door in the middle of the night, sweaty and restless from his current inability to rest.
“zanka?” you question quietly, your voiced laced with worry. “whats wrong?” he steps into your room, and his head finds your shoulder, burying his face into it. “i…i don’t feel good,”
you help him to get comfy in your bed, the comforting smell of you from the duvets puts him at ease. as you place a cool towel on his forehead, there is a soft knock at the door. confused at who may be here at this hour, you approach and open the door— its rudo.
“hey, i—“ he freezes when he notices zanka in your bed, the tips of his ears flushing. “is this a bad time?” you smile, shaking your head softly. zanka sits up in bed, looking quite obviously dazed and half asleep— unaware who awaits at the door.
he groans softly, “come backkkk, its cold..” and rudo’s blush deepens, he’s never seen zanka in a state like this, so soft and needy.
weird.

its early morning, the sun barely grazing the horizon in a soft yellow hew. most of the cleaners remain in their rooms or are out on missions.
Rudo woke up early, heading downstairs to grab some water— but he was not expecting to see you and zanka kissing on one of the couches. he clears his throat awkwardly, making you both look up and gasp. Zanka abruptly removes his hands from your waist. “shit.”
you simply laugh it off, whilst zanka hides his face in your neck. rudo is stunned, unable to move from where he is standing.
kissing isn’t what friends do.
—
rudo is traumatised to say the least— he cant even look the both of you in the eye. He is sitting with you, enjin, zanka and riyo, the sun beginning to set after a long day, and you all find yourselves caught up in light-hearted chatter, whilst rudo stares into space.
“rudo?” riyo asks, waving her hand infront of his face. He jolts slightly. “oh—uhh, yeah?” he says, eyes darting around. “nothing, you look like you’ve seen a ghost though, whats up?”
you and zanka both look over at eachother, and rudo flushes bright red. “i…umm-“ he gets cut off by you, “he walked into me and zanka kissing.”
Enjin bursts out laughing, clutching at his stomach at the whole situation, zanka’s face spurring on his laughter. “they’ve been together for a while now— what, 7 months?” rudo’s eyes practically fall out his head, obviously having no idea about you and zanka’s relationship. riyo perks up, “yikes, you have alot of catching up to do.”

・ ꪖ/n : mb if this is buns ✌️anyways why is it so hot its only may, im not complaining tho
I had an idea for enjin x reader what if reader gets pregnant and rudo gets extremely jealous and acts out
a/n: this was such a cool concept to write. i hope you enjoy it, i feel like rudo would be an amazing big brother.. he would for sure be so protective when the baby is born too if he can conquer his jealousy....
The two of you weren't trying to get pregnant but you weren't trying to prevent it either. When the span of silence from your bathroom stretched too long Enjin stepped into the doorway, voice trembling with a mix of emotions.
Mostly anticipation.
"Well?" His voice like velvet across gravel.
"It's positive."
The air shifted, lifting the weight of anticipation to replace it with the lightness of joy despite what the future of the two of you raising a child would bring.
Enjin's hands were on you, calloused but gentle against your cheeks as he peppered your face with kisses. His lips caught the tears of joy slipping from your eyes, but the worry if you were adequate or not to raise a child was beginning to make your lips tremble.
But when Enjin's lips took yours in an embrace suddenly the feeling of inadequacy faded away and was completely erased by the smile he gave you when he broke the kiss.
"You're going to be a great mother." He all but whispered as his arms wrapped around your shoulders to pull you tight against him. Your arms followed suit, circling his middle while you melted into him.
Enjin was going to make an exceptional father. That much was a given considering how wonderful he was with the younger Cleaners.
The two of you told the Cleaners a week later. Most of them had suspected something was going on seeing as you had been frequently sick the past month and a half. They were all happy on your behalf and offered their support, even deciding they should have a celebration on behalf of your pregnancy.
To which Rudo didn't show up for.
When you announced your pregnancy you had caught a glimpse of the white haired boy. His frame was rigid and eyes distant as he processed the news. You were surprised when he left the common room so soon after the announcement without a word to you or Enjin.
You thought out of anyone he'd be the first one to be excited for the both of you but you were wrong.
Your first trimester had been horrible.
Assignments for you were an absolute no. That was effective immediately as soon as you announced your pregnancy. You had made an effort to argue that you were pregnant, not an invalid, and perfectly capable of handling trash beats (when you weren't puking your guts out). Corvus had firmly sided with Enjin on keeping you off the field until after your pregnancy.
Not to mention the morning sickness. It only worsened as the weeks went on. There were days where it was so debilitating that you couldn't even get out of bed except for when you had to run to the bathroom.
Poor Rudo, bless him, had been present during those days when Enjin couldn't be. Often pulling your hair back and bringing you wet cloths to put on the back of your neck to help cool your body down. In between those moments you'd catch the twitch of his jaw, the look of frustration and worry in his eyes while he took care of you.
He wasn't happy about your pregnancy, you could see it every time he looked at you.
"This is your fault." You had heard Rudo's voice outside of your bedroom in the hallway, the door having been left ajar by the teen upon Enjin's arrival.
"Huh?" You'd heard the confusion in Enjin's voice as the comment stopped him from entering your room.
"She's like this because of you."
The door shut and you didn't hear the rest of the conversation, but you could make out certain words when their hushed voices outside of the door rose.
"...completely normal..."
"...better soon... I know you're worried..."
If you had the energy you would've inserted yourself to break up whatever disagreement the two were having but all you could do was lay there and listen. When Enjin came back into the room he had shut the door harder than intended. He immediately apologized as he languidly crawled onto the bed with you.
Tattooed fingers brushed the hair that was sticking to your forehead aside as he looked over your features. You were drained of your color, a little clammy and tired but otherwise well.
Whatever Rudo had said in the hallway had left a look of guilt in his eyes.
"Don't take whatever he said to heart." You reassured as you cupped Enjin's cheek in your small palm. "I'm right where I want to be."
"He's just scared. " You continued, "This is all new to him... a big scary change that has it's troubles as much as it does it's joys. We will have to be patient with him."
After a solid two weeks of the silent treatment Rudo finally spoke to Enjin, apologizing for what he said to him in the hallway outside your bedroom.
Now that your morning sickness had subsided you were able to accompany the other Cleaners in the common room and out to eat as often as they went. It was wonderful being able to finally eat and keep down your food again.
Rudo had grown quiet, not that he was much of a talker in general, but quiet in a way that was odd for him.
Normally when he was with you he would go on about something one of the guys did while on an assignment, something Enjin said that was cool... or how Riyo fell asleep on him in the jeep again on the way back to headquarters.
But now he hardly spoke a word. He would just silently attach himself to you, sometimes taking your hand and clinging on to you as if trying to memorize how it felt to hold. You got the impression he believed you were going to suddenly disappear unless he clung to you.
When he did speak there was an edge to his words that threatened to draw blood whenever he spoke to anyone, sometimes including you. However he would apologize profusely afterwards with tears present in his ruby colored eyes.
This went on until the end of your second trimester. You had Rudo's hand pressing against the round curve of your belly where he could feel the tiny kicks coming from inside.
The teen's expression was unreadable as he stood there with his scarred hand over your belly after he'd been instructed by Enjin to take his glove off so he could feel the kicks, after trying and failing to with his glove on.
"Isn't that amazing?" You said breathlessly with a smile on your face, your hand holding Rudo's to the spot on your belly as the baby continued to punch at his hand.
"Feels weird." Rudo's nose scrunched but the blush on his cheeks betrayed how he was truly feeling. You knew that flustered blush and could see the dawning of a intrigue in his eyes the longer his hand remained on your belly.
"Yeah," Your thumb brushed across his knuckles in a soothing motion. The scars on his hands never failed to draw compassion from you. "It does."
After that Rudo's mood shifted. His shoulders held less tension in them and his temper was quelled. You were happy to see him speaking to Enjin and the others with a better attitude. He even often asked to feel the life kicking inside of you.
Things had finally settled, or so you thought, until Rudo realized that he could hold more of your attention by pretending to be in more pain than he actually was after a run in with a trash beast that left him injured.
"What were you thinking?" You tutted as you cupped his cheek in one of your hands, turning his head toward you to get a better look at him.
"It's not that bad." He'd grumbled, eyes struggling to meet yours but readily enjoying the attention you were giving him.
"Not that bad? You're covered in bandages." You continued to fuss over him. You didn't cease to do so until Enjin insisted that he boy was fine despite how he looked.
The next few days were like that. You would fuss over Rudo's estate, constantly checking him over and inspecting him even after his bandages were gone.
But as your concern lessened Rudo began to feign still being in pain. He would wince when he sat up in bed when you came to see him, complain about soreness that no longer resided in his ribs, how drained he felt, when earlier that day he was up moving around with no issue.
You didn't notice that he was faking it until you overheard Enjin talking to him in the infirmary before your usual visit.
"You should talk to her instead of lyin' to her for attention..."
Rudo's gloved hands were clinching the infirmary sheets. He wasn't saying anything but you knew Enjin's words were weighing heavy on him. They weighed heavy on you for a different reason.
Why would Rudo be lying for your attention?
Then it clicked.
All these months you missed it. The mood swings, the clingyness, and now the deceit. He was jealous, not struggling with a new change in his life like you had originally thought.
Your lips pursed in thought before you knocked on the infirmary door to announce your presence.
The two males looked over at you standing in the door way and you gave them both a smile.
"Can I have a minute with Rudo?"
You didn't miss how Rudo flinched, nor the glance Enjin gave the boy before looking back at you with a nod.
"Of course baby."
Before you could sit down on the bed next to him Rudo was apologizing for lying to you about being more hurt than he truly was,
"I just... wanted your attention." His eyes were averting from yours. They'd been doing that a lot lately.
With a sigh you patted his leg fondly before resting your palms over your swollen belly. "I understand. Now that Enjin and I are having a child, I won't be able to give my attention to you as freely as I have before,
"But that doesn't change how much I value and love you,"
"You are just as important to me as the child growing inside of me." Your voice was soft, your smile softer as you looked over at him to assess how he was taking what you were telling him.
His eyes were welling with tears and he wasn't looking at you but you knew you were reaching him. A little reassurance went a long way when dealing with jealousy.
A beat of silence passed before Rudo shifted toward you to lean forward and rest his head on your shoulder from where you sat next to him on the bed. Your arm wrapped around him as you pulled him closer.
"I mean every word." You murmured to him, "And I think... you're going to make a wonderful big brother."
The boy froze at the words, as if he already didn't wear the title to the other younger Cleaners. He raised his head to look at you with wide garnet eyes as if he couldn't believe you'd give him the title to your child.
You offered him a warm smile while your hand raised to ruffle his hair affectionately.
"Really?" He breathed.
"It could go without saying." A kick from your belly caused you to let out a chuckle.
"I think the little one agrees." You said, your hand instinctively going to the area where the baby was pressing against your skin.
Rudo's eyes fell down to your hand and remained there before hesitantly reaching out to rest his hand over the child. You smiled hoping that the bond between Rudo and your child would be just as strong, if not stronger, than a blood relation.
Can you PLEASEEEEE do oneof those senarios with the different characgers of how they'd react to you being on your period?? 😅 Preferably with rudo in there (also I absolutely LOVE your writing, I mostly read the ones with rudo but I've read others too and their really good!! Keep it up)
❥ ּ֯ ┆ ꒰ rudo reacting to you being on your period ! ꒱┆
rudo had noticed something was off the moment you walked into headquarters that morning.
you weren't talking as much as you usually did, your steps were slower, and every few minutes your hand would drift toward your lower stomach before quickly moving away whenever you realized someone could see. at first, he thought maybe you'd gotten hurt during training and were trying to hide it, which honestly wouldn't surprise him.
you'd done it before. so throughout the day, his eyes kept finding you without even realizing it, watching every tiny movement until the worried feeling in his chest became too hard to ignore.
by the time everyone had settled down after their mission, he found you curled up on one of the old couches with your knees pulled to your chest, your face half-hidden against a pillow. without saying anything, he walked over and crouched beside you, his gray eyes quietly searching your face.
"where are you hurt?" he asked after a long moment. when you only blinked at him in confusion, he frowned a little deeper. "you've been holding your stomach all day." you let out a small sigh before mumbling, "i'm not hurt... it's just my period."
rudo stared at you. "...your period?"
you nodded, already feeling embarrassed. "yeah."
he stayed completely silent, his brows pinching together as he tried to remember if anyone had ever explained what that actually meant. he knew women got periods.
but everyone knew that much.
but nobody had ever sat him down and explained what happened or why it hurt so much. after another few seconds, he looked back at you, genuine concern replacing the confusion in his eyes. "...does it always hurt like this?" when you quietly admitted that it did, and that sometimes it was even worse, he didn't know what to say. the thought that you went through something painful every month without ever mentioning it made something twist uncomfortably in his chest. "...stay here," he muttered before standing up and walking away.
you watched him leave with a small frown, immediately assuming you'd made him uncomfortable.
instead, rudo wandered through headquarters until he spotted enjin talking with riyo nearby.
he walked over without much thought, stopping in front of them with the same serious expression he always wore. enjin looked up first, smiling a little.
"what's up, kid?" rudo hesitated for the briefest moment before speaking. "...she said she's on her period." enjin blinked once. "...okay?" rudo looked between the two of them. "...what does that mean?" there was another pause before both enjin and riyo realized he wasn't joking.
riyo's eyes widened ever so slightly while enjin let out the smallest laugh, rubbing the back of his neck. "wait... nobody's actually explained periods to you?" rudo simply shook his head. "i know they happen." he answered honestly. "i don't know why she's in so much pain."
the teasing expressions both disappeared almost instantly.
enjin motioned for him to sit down, leaning against the table as he explained everything as simply as he could.
he talked about how periods happened every month, how cramps could sometimes be mild and other times so painful people struggled to stand, how hormones could affect emotions, and how everyone experienced them differently.
rudo listened without interrupting even once, his entire focus fixed on enjin's explanation. every new sentence only made his expression grow more troubled.
"...every month?" he repeated quietly. enjin nodded. "every month." rudo looked down at the floor for a second before muttering almost to himself, "...that's awful."
riyo couldn't help smiling a little at how genuinely upset he looked. "it can be." she admitted. "which is why the best thing you can do is not make her feel embarrassed about it." rudo looked over at her immediately.
"...how?"
"don't act like she's fragile." riyo answered. "don't panic, don't keep asking if she's dying every five minutes, and don't pretend you know exactly what she's feeling because you don't. just... ask her what she needs. maybe she wants food. maybe she wants a heating pad. maybe she just wants someone to sit beside her without talking." she shrugged lightly.
"everyone's different." rudo nodded once, silently committing every word to memory.
when he returned a few minutes later, you looked up from the couch, expecting an awkward apology or maybe an excuse for why he'd disappeared.
instead, he quietly sat beside you. for a while, neither of you said anything. after a minute or two, he finally spoke, his voice softer than usual. "...does it still hurt?"
you nodded.
"...a lot?"
"...kind of."
he looked down at his hands before asking another question. "...what helps?"
you blinked, surprised. "anything."
there wasn't any awkwardness or disgust in his voice, only honest concern. he wasn't trying to solve the problem because he knew he couldn't. he simply wanted to know how to make things a little easier for you.
when you admitted that warmth usually helped, he stood back up without another word, disappearing once more before returning with one of the old heating packs the cleaners kept around headquarters for sore muscles after missions.
he'd even asked someone how to warm it properly because he didn't want to accidentally make it too hot. kneeling beside you, he carefully handed it over, watching to make sure you didn't burn yourself before quietly sitting back down.
the room fell silent again, and this time neither of you minded.
after a while, your head slowly tipped sideways until it rested against his shoulder. rudo stiffened for the smallest moment before relaxing, staying perfectly still so you wouldn't have to move.
every now and then he'd glance down at you, checking if your face looked any less tense than before. when he noticed you wince, his eyebrows pulled together again, the helpless feeling from earlier creeping back into his chest.
"...next time..." he spoke after a long silence. you looked up at him. "...tell me sooner." you smiled weakly. "you didn't even know what a period was."
"...i know enough now."
his fingers absentmindedly tugged at the sleeve of his jacket as he looked away, almost looking annoyed with himself. "...i don't like knowing you were hurting all day while i thought you were just tired."
there wasn't anything dramatic about the way he said it. no promises that he'd magically make the pain disappear or somehow fix everything.
that wasn't who rudo was.
but the quiet determination in his voice made it obvious that from now on, he'd notice. every month, he'd remember without you having to remind him.
he'd quietly ask if you needed anything before the cramps became unbearable, make sure nobody pushed you into unnecessary work, and, even if he still didn't fully understand what you were feeling, he'd stay right beside you until it passed because if there was one thing rudo understood better than anyone.
it was that no one should have to suffer through pain alone.

You felt bad for the Sphereite.
The boy, Rudo, as he introduced himself when he first arrived in HQ, had been sent on every mission possible for the past few weeks with Enjin’s team. And he’d only been here for, what, a week? A month and a half? Either way, that kid needed a break.
I mean, think about it.
Your foster parent was murdered right in front of you. You were accused of a crime you didn’t even commit. Then, to top it all off, you were banished from the only “home” you once knew.
You fell out of the sky, literally, and honestly, that fall alone should’ve killed you. Yet you lived, only to see and experience the cruel side of the ground.
At least Enjin found him before the world could eat him alive. Thanks to that man, Rudo got recruited and finally had a place where he could be safe. Where he could belong.
You’d never really interacted with the boy, not much, at least. He was always busy running missions with his team. Sometimes you’d cross paths in the hallway, a small wave or nod was enough.
Other times, when you were on your way to run errands for the front desk and happened to pass by the common room, you’d catch a glimpse of him hanging out with Dear and Guita, and somehow, sweet little Remlin always ended up being there too. The heartwarming sight of them sketching and eating desserts together was enough to trigger anyone’s maternal instincts.
Wait. Desserts.
That’s it!
You recalled Riyo mentioning a day ago that the boy had never had anything sweet up in the Sphere. When she offered him a plate of desserts, he devoured them like a beast who hadn’t eaten in days.
To be honest, you’d never had a proper introduction with the boy, your schedule never allowed it. But since you had a few decent skills in the kitchen, you figured, why not make him some treats as your way to officially welcome him to the Cleaners?
A day later, right after lunch, you finally had the time to work your magic in the kitchen. An hour later, you found yourself walking toward the common room with a small plate full of steaming, moist chocolate chip cookies. Their rich aroma wafted through the air like silk.
And as if the gods themselves had heard your prayers, the sound of sweet bickering and youthful laughter reached your ears. Looked like the kids were right on time.
You heard the excitement of a little girl as you neared the doors. “Okii! Okii! But who would win in a fight?! A three-headed trash beast or Gris on a bad day?!” Guita. Then sweet giggles followed. Remlin.
You peeked inside, and there, at a small low table in the corner of the room, you saw the three precious members of the Cleaners and Canvas Town’s young spell-caster.
Guita was flailing her hands dramatically while Remlin and Rudo made rough sketches on the blank papers sprawled across the table. Colored pens and sharpened pencils were scattered everywhere. Rudo seemed surprisingly focused on his sketch, while Remlin tapped their chin with their pen, deep in thought over Guita’s absurd question. Dear’s face was scrunched in concentration, clearly imagining Gris pouncing on a trash beast.
How adorable.
You couldn’t help but smile as you pushed the door open. The hinges creaked slightly, and all four heads perked up at the sound. As soon as Dear saw you, the little man didn’t hesitate to run up and attach himself to your legs. You nearly melted on the spot.
“Hello, Dearie! Having fun with your friends?”
You shifted the plate to your other hand and gave him a well-deserved pat on the head. He nodded, rubbing his head against your leg like a happy puppy who found some warmth.
“Mhm!”
Guita sprang up from the floor and ran full speed towards you and Dear, hugging your other hip and nearly knocking you both off balance. Her eyes sparkled with excitement. “WAHH! I smell cookies!”
“COOKIES?!” Remlin shot up, eyes shining in anticipation. Goodness gracious.
“Alright, hold your horses, you little rascals! There’s plenty for everybody!”
You placed the plate on the low table, and instantly the trio crowded around it like moths to a flame. Warm chocolate chips glistened in the light, and Rudo looked like he’d just seen heaven for the first time.
He was hesitant to grab such a beauty on a plate, helplessly watching the others devour them like rowdy chickens. You clicked your tongue at the sight of crumbs flying everywhere.
You noticed his hesitance and immediately patted his shoulder in encouragement. “Don’t be shy, Rudo! Eat as much as you want! I have another batch ready.” Hearing this, Guita looked at you with excitement laced with mischief. You playfully glared at her.
He blinked at the cookies, then at you.
You grinned. “Go on! You deserve a treat. You’ve been busy lately, consider this a reward for all your hard work! And yes, I made them myself. So if you don’t like them, just pretend you do, and I’ll live happily in denial.”
Rudo hesitated for a moment before picking one up. He eyed the rich, gooey chocolate shining in the light. He examined it like it was a foreign specimen, and finally, after much contemplation, he took a bite. The second it hit his tongue, his eyes widened.
Lord have mercy.
“Holy—”
“Language,” you warned with a teasing smile. You heard that he would go crazy if he consumed something sweet, you were quite surprised that he was taking this so calmly. It makes you even more nervous than before.
He swallowed and stared at you like you’d just rewritten the laws of flavor. “This— this is amazing! What did you put in this?!”
“Love,” you said with mock seriousness. “And a questionable amount of butter.”
Dear, with his pacifier set aside, munched quietly on his second one, judging Rudo’s reaction. Guita was already reaching for her third cookie, and Remlin looked one step away from tears of joy.
You ruffled Rudo’s hair fondly. “Eat slowly, or you’ll choke.” You might grab some milk for them later on to tone down the sweetness.
He glared up at you between bites, cheeks stuffed like a squirrel.
“Don— mmph— reat me wike a ngid.” ( Don’t treat me like a kid )
“And don’t talk with your mouth full,” you scolded softly, dropping a napkin onto his lap, then to Guita and Remlin. “And besides,” you grabbed another napkin and wiped the melted chocolate from Dear’s cheeks and fingers “you are a kid. It’s normal for anyone to treat you like one.”
He just stared at you as you tended to the others, but kept eating.
When you finally turned back, you caught him still staring, cookie halfway to his mouth, eyes squinting suspiciously.
“…What?” you asked.
He swallowed. “You’re weird.”
You gasped, clutching your chest in mock offense. “Weird?! I slaved over that oven for you! For all of you!”
Rudo snorted. “You sound like Enjin when he’s guilt-trippin’ people into training.”
“Oh, don’t compare me to him, I’m way cuter,” you shot back, flicking a crumb off his shoulder.
“Delusional too.”
That earned him a light flick to the forehead. “Watch it, mister. I can revoke your dessert privileges anytime.”
He winced, rubbing his forehead, but couldn’t hide the playful sneer tugging at his lips. “You wouldn’t.”
“Try me,” you said, crossing your arms dramatically.
The two of you locked eyes in a mock standoff until Dear broke the tension by trying to balance a cookie on Guita’s head, which promptly fell off and hit the floor.
“Ten-second rule!” Remlin yelled.
You groaned, laughing despite to yourself. “Alright, new rule — no floor cookies!”
Rudo watched you softly pinch Dear’s cheek as a scolding, and dust off some crumbs from Guita’s hair.
“It’s my job, kiddo. Someone’s gotta keep you gremlins alive.” You gathered stray crumbs from the floor and clapped your hands. “With all the cruelty of the world, kids witnessing it firsthand is something not to take lightly.”
You turned to him again and smiled warmly. “You’re kids, for goodness’ sake! You’re too young to carry all that responsibility.”
Rudo just stared. The gears in his head were still.
You huffed and reached for his hair, softly ruffling it. “I don’t know what you’re going through right now, but take it easy, alright? I’ll go grab some milk for all of you — Guita, calm down, there’s plenty more.”
You left the room, taking the noise with you. For a brief moment, silence filled the air.
Then Guita flopped dramatically onto the floor. “WAHH~ big sis never disappoints when it comes to baking.”
Dear nodded sagely, munching away. Remlin mumbled, “Man, she’s one of my reasons for hanging out in your HQ.”
“I KNEW IT! YOU’RE ONLY HERE FOR BIG SIS’ COOKING, TRAITOR!” Guita pointed an accusing finger, as Remlin threw out their hands up in mock surrender.
“I’LL STAND MY GROUND!”
Meanwhile, Rudo was staring at the door, your words echoing in his head. He’d never really thought about taking it easy. He was so caught up on his thirst for revenge. Maybe… it wouldn’t hurt.
He looked down at the cookie, huge chunks of chocolate, baked to perfection, still warm, then back at the door.
Yeah. Maybe a short break wasn’t such a bad idea.
He was snapped out of his thoughts when Dear’s hand darted toward his baked sweet. He acted on instinct, pulling it out of reach with lightning speed.
“GET AWAY FROM ME! YOU GREEDY BRAT!”
“?!?!”
The chaos that followed was loud enough to make Enjin yell from down the hall, “IF YOU BREAK ANOTHER TABLE, YOU’RE FIXING IT YOURSELVES!”
And somewhere in the kitchen, you smiled to yourself — because even with all the shouting, the HQ had never sounded more alive.

Hello hello, I dont really know if you do platonic stuff but if I may could I request the Akuta team x reader. where the three come across the reader (maybe working as a waiter) on their days off as the reader kept this part time job a secret. Thank you! 🙂↕️🙏🏼
a surprise staff!
akuta wants to check out the newest hotspot, but you're the last person they expect to see working there
feat. team akuta
── ⟢
after an hour of enjin's driving, the car finally rumbles to a stop just outside a slanted tower. it keels to the right like something is dragging it down from the bottom, but it still looks pretty well-kept despite the dusty surroundings. it has bordered windows, freshly painted doors and a bunch of white zigzag fairy lights that hangs across the entire height of it. there's also a flashing red neon sign that spells 'burger'.
"alright, you guys. i think we deserve ourselves some grub."
enjin twists in his seat and the passengers in the back respond with a jumble of moans. there's only three of them, but with the hoard of rudo's junk stored in the back, they're forced to sit next to each other, shoulder-to-shoulder like glue.
resting his head on his jinki, zanka squeezes his eyes shut and leans forward. "can't we just go straight back to hq? we don't need to be here."
"nah, c'mon, this place has the newest stuff!" enjin exclaims, unbuckling his seatbelt before throwing the door open. "we're the only ones who haven't been here yet!"
he quickly ushers everyone out, ignoring their sleepy faces as he starts marching towards the restaurant. they all trudge along─rudo, riyo and zanka, that is and none of them mirror enjin's excitement as he's the only one tapping his foot impatiently by the entrance.
"it's not like you're the ones paying," he rolls his eyes with a grin.
suddenly, rudo's eyes sparkle. "you're paying?!"
"well, of course. you're broke aren't you?"
"wh─hey!"
with a jingle of the bell, the team enter the restaurant and in an instant, the smell of food hits them like a truck. fries, ham, cheese, onions─all of it in one go.
"wow, would you take a look at this!" enjin exclaims, watching the crowd of customers nudging each other out the way for a table. "pretty good, huh?"
it appears more spaced out than it does from outside. there must be around twelve tables each decorated in their own coloured style. some are painted in blue stripes while others are coated in all-yellow, but nonetheless, the entire place is buzzing with laughter and the clinking of beer glasses, no wonder it's a hotspot.
"i wish (name) was here with us," riyo says, scanning from left to right as if you'd suddenly appear. "it would've been fun to hang out altogether."
rudo frowns. "eh? why? where'd she go?"
"she said she was busy, stupid," zanka lets out a decisive sigh and turns to enjin. "there's no tab─"
"there!"
just then, enjin points to a miraculously empty table that's just been cleared by one of the staff and without haste, he makes a beeline for it as fast as he can. he plops down in one of the seats and beckons the others to hurry.
eventually, everyone's sat and holding a menu, which apparently has a charm of its own, too. it isn't the standard rectangle you'd normally see but an octagon with huge fonts dancing around the page.
"i guess it makes sense," rudo says, after commenting on its shape. he turns the menu over and inspects the images. "there's only eight choices."
"s'giving me a headache," zanka grumbles as he sets the menu down on the table. he leans back in his seat and starts looking around, an unreadable expression on his face.
"have you guys chosen?" riyo asks. she points to one picture and nudges zanka, who begrudgingly turns his head. "i'm getting the mega mega mega even more mega cheese."
"you're jokin'. that's not what it's called."
"it is, look."
enjin waves one of the waiters over and without batting an eye, he begins reciting everyone's orders. "so, we'll get one mega mega mega even more mega che─"
"does she want even more cheese with that? i know she likes to drown herself in it."
"yes, she does. wait, how do you─"
he peels his eyes off the menu and looks up, seeing you, of all people, dressed in the restaurant's uniform with a massive smile on your face. you're holding a pen and paper, but you tuck it away and put a hand on your hip.
"(name)?!" enjin shrieks, dropping the menu in shock. the rest glance up and when they see you too, they all start going off in fits of splutters with eyes wide, mouths open and hands flailing.
you wave. "hey, guys. fancy seeing you here."
"(name)?!" enjin repeats once more, blinking rapidly. he looks back and forth between you and the others. "what're you doing here?!"
"i work here!" you say. "i have been for... two months?"
"two months?!"
"yeah!" you put a hand on your hip and gesture behind you. "i do pretty good, too."
you collect everyone's menus, doing your best to act oblivious to their gawking. "what? it's not like i became a raider."
"does that mean... we get friends and family discount?" rudo pipes up and you tap your chin, staring up at the ceiling as if it's the most difficult question to answer.
"hm, maybe," you grin. "i can give you drinks on the house, though."
everyone apart from zanka cheers as you disappear off into the back, waving off enjin's insistence that you need to hear the rest of everyone's orders. you've been in akuta for what, over three years? you know what they like off by heart.
in minutes, you return with four full trays of steaming hot food. the fountain of cheese for riyo, a sweet pie for rudo, something weird and salty for enjin and the poshest dish you have for zanka. they start to dig in and you slide into the seat next to rudo, drumming your fingers against the table.
"is it good?" you nudge rudo, whose cheeks bulge from chewing so much at once. his plate is practically half-demolished already, you only brought it out maybe five minutes ago. he nods and so you pat his back. "ok, well, please don't choke."
"why'd ya have a 'burger' sign outside when this clearly ain't a burger?" zanka questions, pointing at his dish. he doesn't seem displeased, in fact, he sure looks like he's enjoying it, but you don't want to put your 100% on zanka. he's always unpredictable with his picky tastes.
"my apologies, your highness. i figured you didn't like oily foods, so i tried matching your taste to one of our most exquisite choices. would you like to choose another?"
rudo glances at zanka's dish and shudders. "that looks like something only gods would eat."
"yeah, well, yours looks like something my dog would eat."
"oi!"
"shut up, you guys. not when i'm working."
you all ease into a smooth rhythm of chatter, mentioning things like rudo's training, zanka's growth as a mentor or riyo's constant habit of snipping away at your hair when you're not looking. sometimes, you pick on zanka's peculiar table manners, which has him barking at you to leave him alone, but you never will.
akuta has been your family since you remember and you know that they always will be. with rudo having joined now, you feel as if you've earned another younger brother, a friend to support.
and as you watch your friends, your family, talk with their mouths full, you can't suppress the smile on your face, wondering what kind of mad things you'll all face together in the future.
When you’re more than just someone to him? How does it feels? Well...
Rudo is the kind of person who looks like a walking challenge to the world. Prickly. Sharp. Always on guard. But if you’re his person... Well everything changes. Not instantly. Not obviously. But irreversibly.
He protects you even when you don’t know it.
Rudo will never say, “I’m worried.” He’ll say, “Don’t go there, idiot.” But between the lines there’s concern.
He remembers where you felt uncomfortable. Who stared at you too long. Who raised their voice at you. And if someone hurts you emotionally or physically they’ll regret it. The dog is gonna bite. Rudo isn’t the type to make pretty threats. He just acts. He just do.
Sometimes you notice he walks slightly behind you. Not beside you - behind. So he can see everything. So no one can come up from your blind spot.
His care is rough, but real and pure.
He’s not good with soft words. But if you’re tired he’ll silently take the heavy thing out of your hands. If you’re cold he’ll throw his jacket over your shoulders and act like he’s “not cold at all.” He might grumble, “You didn’t eat properly again? You’re annoying.” And an hour later, food appears in front of you.
That’s his love language. Actions. Always actions.
He remembers the little things.
You once said you don’t like loud noises? He’ll start closing doors more quietly.
You mentioned you like looking at the sky? He’ll take you somewhere with the best view of it.
He listens. Even when he pretends he doesn’t.
He never admit that all this small things are something that shows that he cares.
What about physical touch?
At first almost none.
He’s too tense. Too used to defending himself. But if you’re the one who carefully reaches for his hand first he’ll freeze (OMG IT'S A WOMAN (if you woman ofc...)).And then, well, he just won’t pull away (too stuned ti speak).
Over time, he becomes the one who pulls you closer first. His hugs are tight. Almost greedy. Like he’s afraid that if he lets go, the world will take something from him again.
Sometimes he just rests his forehead against your shoulder. Quietly. That’s his way to as yo to, “Stay.” (And if you have love language being touch, that would hit especially deep. He doesn’t hug often, but when he does, your anxiety goes silent for a moment.)
He gets jealous. Quietly. He doesn’t make scenes. Maybe it's surprising but he really silent about this type of feelings.
He just grows sharper. Because shorter in his replies. A little more tense.
If someone stands too close to you — his gaze darkens. He won’t say, “Don’t talk to them.” He hates control. But one day, he’ll quietly ask:
“Do you like him/her?”
And it won’t sound accusatory, it’ll sound full of afraid.
You are his safe place that he needs, 100%
The world has been cruel to Rudo. He grew up in it without illusions. But with you, he can allow himself to be more than just strong.
Sometimes he talks about his past. Briefly. In fragments and when you don’t judge, don’t flinch, don’t walk away he looks at you like you’ve done the impossible. You’re proof that not everything in this world is shit.
Small domestic moments? Oh yeah.
He grumbles if you’re late, but waits until the very end.
He might quietly brush a stray strand of hair away from your face and then immediately look away full of embarrassment and regret of doing it and existing.
He likes having you nearby, even in silence.
If you cry, he gets angry first (at the reason of your tears, not at you), then awkwardly wipes your tears away with his thumb.
“Don’t cry. I’ll handle it.”
And he will.
The most important thing - Rudo isn’t someone who says “I love you” every day or other sweet things, but if he says it once - it means you’ve become part of his inner world. And he lets very few people in there.
With you, he learns to trust.
With you, he learns to be gentle.
With you, he understands that he can be loved not for his strength, not for his rage, but simply because he exists. And honestly? He’ll hold you like you’re the only valuable thing he’s ever been given.
Feat: Enjin, Rudo, Zanka, Jabber, Gris, Follo, plus a little bonus at the end... (heh heh heh)
A/N: This is my first(?) post like this, so let me know if I should do another one!
Enjin:
He would 100% do one of two things: either he'd start throwing hands, then comfort you, or he'd comfort you, then start throwing hands. No one lays a finger on his lady, after all.
Rudo:
Rudo, he..... wouldn't really know what to do. He's the type of guy to go on a rampage, then procrastinate asking what's wrong. The poor boy would tear himself apart before you even said a word.
Zanka:
He'd pull you into his arms and start comforting you, all while muttering threats to whoever made you cry under his breath. He loves you to death, and he'd prove it in whatever way possible. (Yikes.)
Jabber:
Jabber would panic. Not just normal panicking, full on mental breakdown while acting like a court jester (lol) to distract you from whatever's bothering you. Either that, or he'll make it worse by, again, acting like an idiot.
Gris:
Biggest protector ever. The second you walk through the door with your tear-stained face, you're in Gris's arms, hearing his sweet voice calm you down. He'd ask questions in the most gentle voice ever, and have you okay within seconds.
Follo:
He'd panic. Like, Rudo-level panic times 100. Follo would actually start crying with you, then hold you through your tears while holding back his own. (Aww, cutie)
Bonus! Fuu:
Fuu would have a mental breakdown, anxiety attack, then panic attack. All at once. He'd then try to get up, only to fall back down to his knees, whimpering his questions to you as if he were scared to look you in the eyes. (Poor thing.)
