Klaus cares about his family the most in the show and you literally cannot convince me otherwise. Despite the fact that Luther literally choked him and then threw him, he still did his absolute best to help him. Despite going through horrid side effects of wanting drugs himself and seeing Luther on/with drugs, he still doesn’t take them. He even died for Luther, who had walked away from him to have sex with some random girl who had almost caused his own demise if not for Klaus.
He also wanted Vanya the Hell out of that cagey panic room. He was locked up as a kid, too, and I don’t think that any of the others aside from Ben actually know about it. There are theories that maybe Five somewhat knew, but that’s yet to be determined next season. He shared pity with his sister, despite the two being far from close and he wanted her to be safe and fucking happy.
He withheld helpful information with Cha Cha and Hazel until the drugs came out. He’s not just a druggie, he is literally facing through his PTSD from ghosts constantly. When he tried to relax and take a bath, despite being high, he still saw ghosts and said they were worse when he was sober. He was desperate to will that away.
With Five when he first appears, Klaus asks if he’s not the only one seeing little Five. That could be seen as comedic, considering no one really knew much about them the first episode, but he can literally call upon the dead, which insinuates that he probably tried so many times with Five before ultimately giving up. And with him being a Beacon that day as an attempt to call their shitty father, it wouldn’t be that far of an extent to see another dead piece of his family.
Klaus doesn’t tease any of his siblings about shit that they can’t change. He brings up Claire once but that’s something Allison can change and is actively trying to change. He doesn’t poke and prod about Luther’s body or Vanya’s anxiety or literally anything that they can’t change. He even enforces with Five that if the other doesn’t love himself, Klaus sure as Hell does, and I am 100% certain that he actually meant that line, no matter how cynical it was in that moment.
He does decide to help Five, even if there was the promise of twenty dollars at the end that he doesn’t even get. He helps his brother, harms himself in the process, thinks of everything on the fly. He doesn’t take a single pause. He wants background information in case something happens and they go into question. While Five thinks it’s impractical and just plain uncalled for, Klaus genuinely wants to know. He’s not just trying to solidify the story if they need it, he’s also trying to get this and possibly form a backup plan if things go wrong. Despite not getting his money or anything, he doesn’t hold it against Five and continues to work with him just fine and as if none of that had ever actually happened.
When Vanya brings a man home, he doesn’t tease her, he’s just plain confused. He’s not confused that she has a boyfriend, but he’s confused why she brought him here so suddenly. Klaus doesn’t poke fun into her relationship at all.
He makes jokes with Ben but ultimately sticks to what the other says, even if he has a lot of “if Ben were here, he’d be with me” - “nope” moments, he still listens and knows that his brother is correct. He listens and executes knowledge, saving Luther from himself in the club before actually saving him on the fly without Ben’s saying.
With Diego, while he may be a bother, he does give good advice somewhat. He listens to Diego and takes his side often. He sympathizes with Diego, who just lost Patch, as he just lost Dave. While it doesn’t seem to be shown much, it’s clear that he does make somewhat of an attempt.
Klaus is literally the one who cares the most and you guys are just mean. This boy literally died for one of his siblings who couldn’t care less that he was dying. His family doesn’t even know he died. They called him delusional for saying anything about Ben, but he still fucking saved their asses in the theater and stuck with them no matter what.
