why do I still have this...
i think maybe itâs something we share, us immigrants, us children of immigrants, those of us thrown into diaspora, scattered across countries and continents with names we still struggle to pronounce, further from the heartland than our parents ever dreamed weâd end up. we spend so much time in...

Malcolm X at a meeting in Paris, November 23, 1964
White interviewer: If it was our white ancestors who bought you and enslaved you, we are their children. We are the new generation. Why don't you call us your brothers?
Malcolm X: A man has to act like a brother before you can call him a brother. You made a very good point, really, that needs some clarification. If you are the son of the man who had a wealthy estate and you inherit your father's estate, you have to pay off the debts that your father incurred before he died. The only reason that the present generation of white Americans are in the position of economic strength that they are is because their fathers worked our fathers for over 400 years with no pay. For over 400 years we worked for nothing. We were sold from plantation to plantation like you sell a horse, or a cow, or a chicken, or a bushel of wheat. It was your fathers who did it to our fathers, and all of that money that piled up from the sale of my mother and my grandmother and my great-grandmother is what gives the present generation of American whites [the ability] to walk around the earth with their chest out; you know, like they have some kind of economic ingenuity. Your father isn't here to pay his debts. My father isn't here to collect. But I'm here to collect and you're here to pay.

The library that is under Masjid Al-Aqsaâs Main Prayer Hall. It was made out of one of the tunnels that is underground. Beautiful.
May we be able to visit it one day.

A pastor in Seoul, South Korea has created a âbaby boxâ for people so that people who would otherwise abandon or kill their newborns can leave them somewhere safe instead. The box has a light, a towel lining, and a bell rings as soon as a baby is placed in it so the pastor, his wife, or one of his staff can come and get it right away.
Lee Jong-rak started the box in 2009, and has welcomed all babies, often disabled or the children of single mothers, that have been placed in the box since. The babies are given a loving home, food, and shelter in his orphanage. Currently, an average of 17-18 babies are placed in the box every month.Â
One mother who had considered poisoning her baby before she heard about the Baby Box left her baby in the box with a letter pinned to his clothing that read:Â
âMy baby! Mom is so sorry. I am so sorry to make this decision. My son! I hope you to meet great parents, And I am very very sorry. I donât deserve to say a word. sorry, sorry, and I love you my son. Mom loves you more than anything else. I leave you here because I donât know who your father is. I used to think about something bad but I guess this box is safer for you. Thatâs why I decided to leave you here. My son, Please forgive me.â - âA single motherâs tearful letterâ
Lee Jong-rak is the subject of a documentary called âThe Drop Boxâ, which I havenât seen - but I can recommend this 13 minute Dateline video. You can find the Facebook page for the BabyBox here.
GIVE THIS MAN AN AWARD
My heart.
Omg, Iâm sitting here crying, gosh this is so heartbreaking. I cannot believe there are on average 18 babies a month! I really canât believe that. Iâm so grateful that they are being saved and taken care of.Â
may God bless him
I would gladly take all the babies in the world that no one wants. Anyone who knows me knows my obsession.
