First AF attack of the season, on one of my friends over on Discord. This guy is from one of the rp groups I’m in (where Sergei’s from), so I’ve been hearing a lot abt him and his lore and all, which made this a lot of fun to work on. It turned out pretty much exactly as I’d envisioned it too, which is a bit of a rare treat lol.

Some more art of Victor my dearest Victor lol. I had tried to do an Icarus-themed piece a few months ago, but it didn’t really work out and I had kinda forgotten abt it until I came across this quote from the book again. Which is just. SO perfect for it omg. This is actually the second half of it, and I’m doing another piece that goes with the first - but I really love the whole thing, and I’m glad that I could finally do something with this theme bc it’s something that I really focus on in the AU (and just really like in characters in general). The myth of Icarus itself also lends itself nicely to him, not just the song.

With the initial piece, I was going to have it be when he first created Mischa (the Creature), but I really wanted to draw his longer hair and all of the white streaks lol. So instead this is his appearance from the time when Walton was writing that quote about him (hence why I left out his scars). I also wanted him to look more worn, to emphasize that “greatness of his fall” part.

Redraw of a piece from the end of February, bc it’s my phone lockscreen bg and was starting to look a little eugh lol. When I did the original I didn’t really have their designs figured out yet/how to draw them, but now that I’ve been doing a lot of art of these two over the past few months (particularly Victor) I’ve got a much better idea of it. Thumbnail plus some still scene things from an animatic I just finished up (which can be watched below). Used it as a final for my drawing class, where we could do whatever we wanted, bc I knew otherwise I’d never actually do it lol. I’d never done a animatic before, so I’m surprised that some parts of it turned out as well as they did - especially since I hadn’t animated anything in literal years. The power of my Victor obsession pulled me through Ig lol.

Finished this up a week ago, but kept forgetting to post it here.

Graphic novel adaptation of a scene from one of my Sergei stories for one of my classes (the first one I wrote, back in December). Lost motivation about halfway through, so just don’t look too closely at literally any of it lol.

Writing is the excerpt of that scene.

Some more art of my dearest Victor. He's just so much fun to draw lol Started this a few weeks ago, and just finished it up. I got the idea for this while I was working on the AU, and listening to False Confidence (which I’m also planning on doing a small animatic sort of thing with him using the end part of it, bc it’s SO FITTING OMG). But anyway, I don’t really know too much abt tarot cards or do anything with them, but I like when ppl match characters with their meanings - and Ig I must’ve subconsciously remembered the one for The Hanged Man, bc when this came to mind and I looked it up the upright meaning is perfect for him. It centers around feeling trapped or confined in a situation that you’re not happy with, but that you have the power to release yourself from - as well as just generally needing release/letting go. Which is all super fitting for my AU.

I tried to mimic the style and imagery of the actual card, which was fun to try out. It ended up looking better than I thought it would.

Mumford & Sons back at it again with these two. It was actually originally inspired by Little Talks by Of Monsters and Men (which is also really fitting for them), but then Ghosts That We Knew came on and I was like this is even better lol

Started this a couple weeks ago and finished it up last night. I did not think that it was gonna work AT ALL when I started, but I actually really like how it turned out, especially with the different shading style I was experimenting with. Just don’t look too closely at Victor’s boots, those were a bit of a struggle 💀

This isn’t a specific scene (tho there is one I wrote recently that’s very similar), but just sort of a general thing about how I imagine that Mischa (that’s the name which the creature is given in my AU, so I’ll refer to him as that) often comforts Victor in the anxiety attacks and things that still plague him. Especially since it’s kind of a part of his own redemption of sorts, as his actions were what caused Victor’s trauma. Their relationship is so fun to explore - I’ve never played around with an enemies to friends character dynamic before, but I’ve always loved it in shows and books and such. Particularly given the added complexity to theirs, with both of them believing themselves to be the one at fault and all. I also think of them as having a kind of familial relationship, given the fact that Victor is Mischa’s creator (and that’s talked about in the book as well ofc). But tbh I can’t see Victor as a father figure (he’s too anxious for that LOL), so I think of it more like a brotherly thing. Closer than friends, but in that familial love kind of way - and with Mischa being more like the big brother, not just bc he’s literally much bigger than Victor, but also bc he definitely came out of it all being much more mentally stable lol. Which plays into that role of him being a protector and also a kind of guide/comfort to Victor as he tries to heal from everything and move on in their new life at the outpost. Which does happen - but it’s a hard road, and he can never be truly free of the past. Particularly given the fact that he was already naturally anxious to begin with and all that. But at least he has Mischa ❤️

I could go on, but I think I’ll just leave it at that lol.
