dark islanders au: Vanity Fair
ruthless, cunning, unforgiving, vengeful, distrusting, and just a little bit psycho
It all began that night. Her stalker and her friend’s murderer ran as soon as V’s friend dropped to the ground. Police were called as she sobbed into his body willing him to fight or come back. But the callers saw nothing. Only heard. And when Vanity Fair was alone in her room that night, it all went downhill.
Stress. Fear. Agony. Sadness. The cycle looped on like that until one thing clicked harder than “my friend died”: HE killed him. The pain and fear, working so fast with her magic-kissed body turned her hair gray but the anger was quickly followed by the feeling that turned her dark for good. Revenge.
Her nails, like her heart, blackened and sharpened. And like Persephone with the pomegranate seeds, she gave into temptation….. and welcomed the darkness.

The plan was simple enough. Meet him up, get him to confess, the wire will catch everything, arrest, justice. He showed up, gun still on him. After a few minutes of apologizing and crying (on his part) and begging for forgiveness, swearing he’d take it back if he could yet still not admitting to anything, she got bored and that on top of her anger and newfound darkness made for a deadly match. She revealed a unicorn she’d brought with her and told him to run.
One dead end and the chase was over and Vanity Fair got her revenge.
Unsurprisingly, the light didn’t return to her after that. She remained cold and hard and angry at the world. She was sent to the island in hopes of finding her way back to the light.
But now that she’s here with so much magic around her, there has to be a way to bring her friend back… right? The island may be more on the prison-like side of an asylum or rehab or whatever it is but good luck to anyone who crosses her or gets in her way.
reblogging cuz I even improved upon the fixed version. last time I’ll do this I swear
