âWell you could have fled the moment you came back, this town doesnât really offer the best of memories.â If it hadnât been for Hope being here, Klaus would have fled and never looked back. It was suffocating to be in the very town where all his nightmares rooted from, the constant fear that Mikael was among those that have returned. âElijah shouldnât have died.â He still hasnât seen his brother and that was a hard truth to face, âHe only did because he didnât want me to die alone, guess he wanted to keep up on our Always and Forever promise even in the afterlife.â He managed a chuckle at that. Stefanâs statement took his brother off his mind for a few moments as a laugh emits, looking around them before returning his emerald gaze to Stefan, âIt may turn out that way, if I still harbor Inadu. But until then Iâm walking on eggshells.â That and every corner he turned there was always some curious eyes following him. âItâs good to see you too, old friend.â Klausâ smile widened a fraction, âWhy donât we get a drink? You can tell me all about whatever peace you found.â He was hoping Stefan at least had that for him.
âSure except I no longer have the luxury of compelling my way into another life and running away seems about the last option.â Or at least he wanted to face the problems heâd left behind in death, leaving or moving on could happen when all that had been dealt with. âMaybe not but thereâs some honor in dying for or with family and if anyone was going to die by your side...well it was definitely going to be him.â Elijah had so consistently stood by his brother irregardless of every bad thing heâd done and maybe it came from knowing the feeling but he could at least respect that. A sigh passed briefly peering elsewhere. âEggshells is better than doom and destruction. So I think I speak for everyone when I say Iâll take that.â Granted at this point he had a feeling Mikaelson drama was the least of anyoneâs issues. âSure, though I wonât make any promises about being able to drink like I used to.â A half joke of course though it was one of the cons of being human.Â
