“Wow, finally someone who admits that they were checking me out.” Thiago smiled. “Thank you, though, for the compliment.” he practically lived off of them. “You’re not too bad looking yourself, stranger.”

Thomas bowed with a chuckle. “You’re welcome. I have to take responsibility for my actions. I’m Thomas, it’s a pleasure. Also, thanks. I try to at least keep my hair styled well.”

Rose hiked up the stairs to the second floor, feet moving in the usual route to avoid the piles of rubble scattered about. The second floor apartment was only one of the many safe-houses she’d set up around the city. She’d escaped here a few nights before when her previous one had been compromised by Angels. 

She’d gone out to scavenge for provisions in the early morning, but as she neared the door, a feeling of dread ran down her spine. The door was propped open a few inches – she hadn’t left it open when she’d left. Careful not to make too much noise, Rose gently pushed open the door to look inside. It seemed to be empty, but the dust revealed footprints suggesting other-wise. Her hand pulled out her small handgun, feet quick to move to the point wherein the intruder rested, gun pressed up against the other’s head.

“It’s not polite to break and enter, even in this day and age.” It was ironic really, given that’s really what she did to survive. Though, it’s always unpleasant when the situations flipped.

Tomas ran his fingers over a [dusty?] dresser, curious as to who it belonged to before the angels decided to invade Earth. He smiled softly, recollecting his past. The man looked around, his footsteps quiet as he moved through the apartment building. His parents came to mind as he did, wondering if they were doing okay. He hadn’t seen them in weeks, if not months. His heart yearned to be by there side, at least for a little while. It was dangerous for all of them to be caught together, right? The angel sighed, running a hand through his soft, golden hair.

Footsteps caught the man off guard, but it was too late to retaliate. The angel froze as he felt the barrel press to his head. He held up his hands, surrendering quietly. “I-I’m sorry. I wasn’t aware anyone lived here.” His heart raced as he found himself worrying about what could happen. Had he done himself in, just by exploring? Thomas bit his lip, hoping for mercy.

“If you’re going to check me out, at least be less obvious about it…or don’t I guess. Up to you.”

It’s not often you see such a handsome man, but I’ll make sure I’m much more subtle next time. -smiles-

Thomas looks twenty years old and is gay. He is an angel, belonging to no group. He hails from Saint Paul, Minnesota. People mistake him for Chris Colfer. This character is still open.

Thomas had a short but well-lived life. Pretty early on the doctors diagnosed him with the big C—cancer, and instead of it becoming the dominant factor of his day-to-day life, his parents wanted to give him one that was worth it to have been lived.

So between hospital visits, medication and chemo therapy, Thomas traveled to amazing countries, saw wonders of the world. He read broadly and wrote blogs full about things that were decidedly not his illness, and despite his odds of a lengthy life, he was happy.

The last year of his life though? Not happy. He was stuck in a hospital rooms, four white walls and the smell of cleanliness that permeated everything; it was a slow torture to his last days.

Dying was a relief. His body went from weak to strong, and he was granted wings. He is a fairly new angel, still discovering things and finding his place in his new world, but he’s not sick anymore. He is happy once more. But there is a guilt there, too, that grows every time he goes to see his parents when he knows he shouldn’t: a guilt that now he’s happier than before, when his parents sacrificed everything for him.

But he’ll learn to live—after-live?—with that too.
