ââ â âIb always bore the TENDENCY of being a bit petulant, a lack of self preservation born from some moment in her past. Loghain remembers DIMLY a lack of family, a few stories coaxed out slowly over the span of many months, yet nothing assuredly definite, and as this girl doesnât remember meeting him in this city long ago, he wonders if she isnât ⊠DIFFERENT this time.
âWith how GLOOMY you are, it will come back,â he says with a shrug, in ONE SHORT LEAP replacing the creature by sitting a few paces away from Ib. âJust BECAUSE something else is scarier doesnât mean that little creature might not find your fingers deliciousâŠâ
Sheâs definitely sulkier than usual, and heâd be DAMNED if he didnât try to find out why.
His words made her face fall more, shoulders hunching forward as her face all but disappeared behind her bent legs. âKnow that!â she snapped, glaring at Loghain before her eyes dropped back to staring at her feet. Of course she knew that just because something wasnât as scary didnât make it less dangerous, even if her attempts to pet the monster were counter intuitive to that knowledge.
â...Go away,â she said quietly. She wanted him to leave and she wanted him to stay. There were memories banging around in her head and actions she had to confess to and around him she always ended up saying what she felt. But if he knew what sheâd done, he wouldnât want anything to do with her.
