In honor of the fob8 teaser I’ve finally decided to post about my Fall Out Boy custom shoes!
I’m gonna split this into several posts
1. So it isn’t long as all hell and
2. So there’s not a massive amount of photos all on one post
So way back in 2019 I was inspired to make custom shoe designs for Fall Out Boy’s albums. There have been several iterations of these designs which I intend to have separate posts for, four waves specifically.
I posted the first wave to my private Instagram, and then gave permission to a close friend to repost them onto Reddit and Imgur (Reddit bc I don’t have one and Imgur to upload all of the photos with their corresponding album art).
Since then, the updates on the designs have only ever been posted to my private Instagram.
I chose to use Vans Customizer to get digital renderings of what I wanted my shoes to look like. I picked Vans over other types of online shoe customizers bc their variety of available features were most comprehensive and user friendly to me.
The brand of paint I use to do detail work is Angelus brand acrylic leather paint, Memory brand fabric color paint, and Angelus brand matte acrylic finish to act as a sealant to protect the paint. I don’t use any specific brush type, as different levels of detail work require different sizes of brush.
Each shoe will also get its own post once I’ve actually bought and customized the physical shoe to completion.
