It worked! IT WORKED!

Who was she kidding? Of course it worked! After all, she was the ex-Fount of Knowledge.

Granted, it took a bit of improvisation. A lot of convincing the other Beasts to go along with this. She may have had the power of four Soul Jams in her dough, but three of those weren't hers to wield to begin with. And even after getting them on board, there were a couple of false starts in the process.

But now? Now it had all worked out.

Shadow Milk watches with rapt attention as Saint Lily's new dough solidifies. She pulls out a shard of reality and checks her appearance, smoothing her hair into place and touching up her icing just a tad.

And when she does wake? She'll find herself in the loving arms of Deceit, Destruction, Apathy, and Sloth.

"Rrrrrrise and shine, sleeping beauty." There's a softness that's not usually present in Shadow Milk's voice, haunted and entranced all at once. She brushes pale white bangs out of those doe eyecings.

"Welcome back to the world of the living! Or in this case, as close to living as we can get."

oh , it sure is quiet ... and perhaps a bit lonesome — but was this anything saint lily hadn't been adjusted to before ? in most ways , yes , this was often her daily way of life ; but often interrupted , pleasantly so by the warming presence of companions . even if they come and go , even if she came and went like a breeze in the wind , she would never turn away to see a familiar face or new .

how long has it been ? how long would it be without the sight of her friends ? if only she could watch , whether above or below ; did everyone manage to get their letters ? is everyone taking care of themselves in the aftermath and grievances of war ... ?

this quietness ... was permanent —- permanent ? a pulling force , tugs at her arm , tugs at her being . she had poured and studied through other methods , where maybe there was a trace of a happier ending with herself included - but there was nothing —

where was all this energy coming from ? a rush – a touch —- desperately — pulling her from eternal slumber —-

a balance that saint lily just repaired , had been tampered with once more .

red icings blink themselves awake in confusion and grogginess . something was off , that was easy to say . but it was a similar sensation , much like when elder faerie lent his life force to revive her too . who would go out of their way to attempt such a thing ... ?

when she glances over , bearing her surroundings , and perhaps try to find an answer ; it was a rapid conclusion in what disrupted her death ( an ironic statement , truly ) . a smoking gun in the form of a familiar beast that loomed over her corpse , whose desire for chaos never seemed to die down . the ancient is quick to sit up and hold herself in a rapid examination . sensation , sight , sound , smell : dull but in tact ; corporeal form : fatigued . just like that time before .

a scowl , then a bewildered , befuddled expression . " sylphrena — ? what .. how —- "

perhaps , an outburst of disoriented anger : " why !? "
