Childhood:

She grew up in a small city with her mother owning a fashion house and her father running a tobacco company. She was under pressure to be like her older sister, who would get more attention than her. She noticed the disparity more after Francesca was born.

Adolescence:

While she was a teen, she soon had enough of the pressure and lack of attention from her parents, who wanted to fit her into a mould. She soon broke away, committing petty crime. When she turned 16, her parents found out about her crime and kicked her out.

Young Adulthood:

Being 18, she worked around the criminal work, which taught her many things; however, she was majorly traumatised from being hurt and abused, even getting scars due to work that nearly had her killed. She collected a group of people who felt neglected like her and set up Catarsis, which was first small, then grew to be bigger in the future.

Adulthood:

Along with Melody, she collected more neglected people on missions such as abandoned and homeless teens, sex workers, homeless and even people she found who were being neglected and working within the criminal world.

Chapter 7: Fire

Weeks after adopting Mephisto for the night, Silia descended to the outside of the Catarsis base. She wore a red dress, her hair in a bun secured with a red clip. Melody and the team left separately to avoid suspicion, leaving Silia alone with Sylus and Mephisto.

Sheltered from the rain, she glanced at her phone, annoyed to see it was time to work with Sylus again. Soon, he arrived in a sleek black car, the rain drumming heavily as it smoothly parked in front of her. Sylus, in his black suit, swung the door open.

"Your carriage awaits, Kitten. You look very dramatic for our performance," he commented, noticing Mephisto preening his feathers in the backseat.

"A plain black tux… How original," she said, her tone dripping with sarcasm as she got into the car. "I'd have preferred to have the carriage to myself, but we can't all get what we want."

"Plain, you say?" he repeated, chuckling. "Sweetie, this costs more than most people's apartments. The difference is, this is precise, not plain." He leaned back, smoked oak cologne filling the car. "Your fake identity is set. Just don't burn your cover… Or anything else."

"I'm only in this for the mission, Sylus. Don't mistake this for friendship." He leaned in slightly, a cold amusement in his gaze. "Friends is a quaint concept. We're not friends, but partners on this mission. Sharing this hunt is far more interesting than friendship."

Entering the venue, Sylus vigilantly played the bodyguard role. To gain access to the VIP area, Silia forced the vulnerability she despised. "Oh my goodness, we should dance!" she slurred, playing the part convincingly.

Sylus caught her as she stumbled. "I'm here to protect you, my lady." As the music swelled, he drew her into a waltz, his moves a calculated display of delicate dominance. He leaned in, watching the guard at the VIP entrance. "Your act's working a little too well."

Spinning towards the guard, Silia amplified her act, deliberately dropping a red brooch. "I-I need some water... can you lead me outside?" She purred, moving closer. The guard, flustered, led her away. From a ceiling beam, Mephisto watched silently.

Once inside the VIP room, Silia melted the lock shut. She spotted the trafficker instantly, her gaze hardening as she used her evol to pin him to the door. "You will finally understand the suffering you inflicted on those women."

Sylus entered, his gaze turning dark. "She's not asking," he warned. "She's telling you. Listen."

Pain and a flicker of vengeful hunger burned in her eyes. "You sicken me!" She incinerated him with her evol, the man's screams echoing as she stepped back, her breath unsteady. Sylus noticed her distress, his glowing aether core eye fading as he rushed to her side. "Silia, look at me."

She shoved him aside, moving to the car in silence. "We shouldn't meet again, not like that," she said, her voice fragile. "Our resource trade stands, but I want no further contact."

He parked outside the Catarsis base, his hand brushing hers as he opened the door. "Remember, kitten, no matter how much you pull away, I'll always be there as a silent guardian."

She glared up at him. "Stop acting as if you know me… ‘Cause you don't." She hurried to her apartment, unaware she had dropped her hair clip. Below, Sylus watched as Mephisto dropped the clip into his hand. He twirled it, a thoughtful look on his face. "Perhaps I don't know you, but… I see you."

Chapter 6: Mephisto

At home, hair plaited, Silia prepared for the mission, consulting with her team and Melody. Pink pyjamas softened her usual look. Wiping off her makeup, she sighed as a peck echoed against her window.

Her gaze softened as she recognised Mephisto. "He sent you, hm?" she said, opening the window and picking up the crow. After checking the camera, she disabled it with her EVOL. "Gotcha. You can stay now, Mephie." Mephisto clicked and whirred, ruffling his feathers as the red light on the camera on his chest went out.

The light pulsed once before dying, signalling to Sylus that the feed had been cut. Offended and confused, Mephisto hopped onto Silia's hand. In his office, Sylus watched the camera disconnect, but still had sound and the text chat. He typed a command for Mephisto to stay, as he thought, "What a clever kitten."

Mephisto settled onto Silia's windowsill, tucking one leg under him and humming softly in approval. Noticing him, she paused, gathering mini pillows, jewels, and ribbons. "Stay on the windowsill, or come to this makeshift nest, I guess," she said, looking up at Mephisto. "I'm talking to a fucking mechanical crow... I'm going insane."

She returned to the makeup chamber, removing her makeup to reveal her bare face, a sight few were privy to. "I trust you more than your boss, Mephie. You're a bird; there's not much you can do without that camera."

Mephisto hesitantly approached the makeshift nest, his talons sinking into the plush pillows. He glanced at Silia, seemingly intelligent, as he registered the jasmine perfume clinging to the ribbon. The text indicated Mephisto had moved to a new area of ribbons and pillows, leading Sylus to believe the crow was now surprisingly relaxed.

"Come up," she murmured, her gaze softening as she offered the crow a hand. "Even crows need to rest. You resemble a shy crow more than the intimidating one I'd expect from your owner." She studied the crow, a reluctant appreciation in her gaze.

Mephisto circled the duvet before settling against her pillow, tucking his legs beneath him. His happy mechanical noises conveyed his contentment. Back in his office, Sylus leaned back, noting Mephisto's latest relocation. The chat log described "soft plush servicing...Mephisto enjoys this softness." Sylus mused, "She is taming my crow, huh?"

Silia noticed the intricate carvings on Mephisto's body, especially his wings, a testament to Sylus' meticulous nature—a side of him she hadn't seen before. A playful smirk on her mouth, she took a photo of herself with Mephisto and sent it to Sylus, saying, "I have your crow."

Meanwhile, Sylus glanced at his phone when a notification sounded. A smile touched his lips as he read the message: "Mephisto is now asleep next to a blonde human." He chuckled, leaning back in his seat. "You have Mephisto wrapped around your little finger."

Sylus saved the image without replying, then rose to play opera on his music box, gazing out at the N109 Zone. "She's playing a dangerous game," he mused.

Morning soon arrived. "You should go; I wouldn't want my pet or...my child getting in trouble." She opened the windowsill for Mephisto to leave, then went to prepare for her mission planning meeting.

The crow returned to the Onychinus base, landing on the organ. "Did you enjoy that sleepover?" Sylus asked dryly. Mephisto responded with a series of defensive clicks, prompting a chuckle from Sylus. "Just...don't get too attached," he murmured, knowing it was already too late for both of them.

Chapter 5: The Mission

As she commented on seeing him simply being "work," he chuckled and leaned back in his chair. "You have such a charming way with your words, kitten~" he teased back, casting a quick glance at Silia.

He scoffed, followed by a deep chuckle. When she mentioned flirting with the guard, he raised an eyebrow, his eyes narrowing slightly, revealing a hint of possessiveness. "Burn the lock... a direct approach. I like it," he said, his tone expressing approval. "Very well, Heiress, lead the way. Just don’t get distracted by the guard; my role becomes difficult if I have to clean up after you."

There was a hint of a threat in his tone, accompanied by the playful smirk that Silia detested. "Let's see if this trafficker's flame can be extinguished."

Silia narrowed her gaze as she turned away from Sylus. "Oh, I've done this many times. Flirtation is just a weapon at the end of the day. Especially for a woman... some men can be so gullible."

Sylus was starting to enjoy her bluntness and found it refreshing. "It's a delightful weapon indeed. ...try not to overuse it on my watch. Some assets are better left...Untouched." She looked over at Mephisto before focusing her gaze back on Sylus. "You'd better not go off getting distracted. I'm not cleaning up after you."

As she glanced over at Mephisto, the bird tilted his head and let out a sharp, instinctive caw before returning to his preening. "Distracted?" Sylus echoed, fixing his crimson eyes on hers, a hint of challenge evident in their depths. "Sweetie, I'm never distracted; I simply assess the situation. Unlike you, I always clean up my own messes—and sometimes even other people's, too."

"And? It’s just a means to an end. I did tell you I had a fire event. I don’t understand why you’re surprised that I use it so efficiently."

"Kitten, no. Never surprised, I'm just noting. Your methods are certainly...efficient. Wouldn't you agree? I do find it rather illuminating." He said with a knowing smirk plastered on his face, as if to challenge her. She let out a low laugh that echoed through the room. "How have you not seen what my Evol is? And why would I tell you? How I use my flirtation and assets has nothing to do with you!"

Her gaze became sharp as she shifted to a more serious tone. "Unlike me, you complete your work efficiently, even if it means creating different circumstances in a story. Don't you dare underestimate my work. I don't care how you do things; my methods are effective, and that’s what matters at the end of the day."

"Now that Onychinus and Catarsis are tied together, how you use your assets has everything to do with me." He pushed off his chair to close the distance, his appearance becoming imposing as he towered over her. "I don't need 'different circumstances' to clean up. I just make sure the messes were never there to begin with." His voice dropped, a dangerous edge creeping in.

"Underestimate your work? Never, Kitten. Efficiency is indeed paramount." He leaned in, his voice a low, intimate murmur. "Don't mistake my interest for surprise and don't mistake my disagreement for an inability to adapt. We are partners now, and whether you like it or not, partners reveal their cards eventually, even if they are paved in flames."

As Sylus approached, Silia's eyes widened, and she instinctively stepped back. "Okay, okay, I understand. We do things differently!" she replied with a sigh.

Sylus remained unfazed, amused by how much he was getting under her skin. "Patience, huh? I have all the patience in the world when the prize is worth it." He stepped closer, leaning against the holographic table, locking his eyes onto hers. "I’m certain those cards will reveal themselves in due time... or perhaps," he added in a low and teasing murmur, "I’ll need to find a more persuasive way to draw them out."

Her green eyes narrowed as she pushed him away. "I guess our plan is set. I will see you on the day, and you better not slack, Sylus. I'm putting too much trust in you as it is."

He watched her walk away, his smirk deepening. "Slacking? My dear Kitten, that's a luxury I reserve for others." Soon, he heard the door click shut. "Fiery, indeed," he murmured to Mephisto, who shared his amusement with a quiet, metallic click of his beak.

Chapter 4: The Kitten And The Dragon

A smile spread across Sylus's face as he watched Silia step back. "Oh, I never assumed you were the sweet type, Silia," he said, his words hinting at underlying amusement. "An Evol, you say? Well, doesn't the plot thicken?" His crimson eyes started to glint with a flicker of genuine interest. "You don't have to worry, Silia. Boredom is something busy people like us can't afford."

He watched as Sylus glanced at Silia and raised an eyebrow. "He's not a pet kitten. He's not what I would consider adorable either," Sylus says as he looks up at Mephisto, who responds with a soft caw, almost like a grumble, before his head moves to look at Silia, his eyes fixed on her as if assessing her worth. One of Silia's team members goes over to grab the contract as Silia looks up at Sylus, then she and her team make their way out of the room. As soon as she leaves, she starts to look annoyed.

"What a narcissist ass..." she mutters in the hallway before leaving the building with her team. In the following months, Onocynus was working with Catarsis on resources and larger missions. A few days later, Silia is sitting at her desk as Melody walks in, having gone through her contacts that day to report a mission discussed within the Linkon Networks.

Melody hands over the paperwork related to the mission as Silia looks down at it, then back up at Melody. "You... have another meeting coming in. You will need to work with Sylus to take down a trafficking ring leader," Melody says. Silia sighs and closes her eyes in frustration. She opens one eye to look up at Melody. "Tell Onocynus that I will be there for a meeting tomorrow and schedule it in my calendar. Make sure to clear any existing appointments."

She ran a hand through her blonde hair as she leaned back against the chair. "Tell the contacts that we will take on the mission to take down this trafficker. He's powerful, but so am I...and I guess Onocynus is too," Silia admitted as Melody prepped to send out the wider message.

Meanwhile, Sylus had received similar intel to what Catarsis had gotten while in his private office, spinning a vinyl slowly against his fingertips. Sylus glanced at the door as Luke burst in with his usual excitement. "Boss! There's been new mission intel from the Linkon Network!" His voice then lowered into a gossip-like whisper. "Also, it's a major one involving a human trafficking ring leader, and guess who they want us to work with?"

Sylus paused, raising one eyebrow slightly. "Let me guess~" he drawled, feigning boredom. "Our fiery little kitten and her crew?" Sylus's smirk widens as Luke glances at his tablet. "She is apparently frustrated," Luke cheekily retorted like a schoolgirl talking about the latest magazine gossip.

"Oh, is she now~?" Sylus purred as he mused about how she might just be sighing at the thought of meeting him. "Tell her we look forward to her... eager participation. Prepare the briefing room for tomorrow and tell Keiran to pull up everything we have on this trafficker and cross-reference it with any information Catarsis may have. This will be fun. It's definitely more entertaining when the kitten hisses a little."

The next day, Silia arrived at the base wearing the N109 zone brooch and a red dress that looked very formal yet still suited her usual style. Her heels echo through the hallway as she enters the room. Her blonde hair is styled into a bun with a red flower clip. She walks in and looks up at Sylus. "I'm sure you got the message as well. I think we need to go undercover. I will be the heiress, and you will be my bodyguard. I'm sure you can stick to a role that isn't...the selfish leader type," she says as she narrows her gaze at the last words.

Sylus turned his crimson gaze toward her, a flicker of appreciation shining in his eyes. His focus shifted to the brooch that Mephisto had given Silia as a small token of recognition. "Oh, I got the message, kitten~" he purred, his voice a slow, smooth rumble. He softly paced around the table, stopping just a few feet away. "An heiress and a bodyguard, hm? That's an interesting proposition. You don't think I can play more than just a selfish leader type?"

"I think you may be underestimating my acting skills or ...maybe~" his gaze looked down at her brooch, then back up at her face. "Or maybe you enjoy seeing me in a different light. So tell me, Miss Heiress, what's the plan?"

She lets out a sarcastic laugh as she rolls her eyes. "I don't enjoy seeing you at all. But work is work," she said bluntly. "The plan is we go in and scope the area, there is a vip area on the upper floor. I flirt with the guard, get the VIP key card. We then proceed to the VIP area. I'll break the lock and enter... We'll eliminate him. There might be a larger network we could have to deal with later, but for now, our target is him," she said as her eyes scanned the information. She was skilled at these kinds of missions, having researched every inch of the building.

Chapter 3: Evol Suppressor

Catarsis had spent weeks planning the mission as Silia instructed her assistant to investigate the site layout, the organisation's partners, and their connections. Silia received some reports from Melody and the wider contacts that Catarsis had. The days prior had been spent briefing her team, analysing the layout, and assigning roles for the mission.

Silia had dressed as a wealthy donor while the rest of her team went in disguise as soldiers. They managed to get suits from the black market, so acquiring guard uniforms wasn't too difficult. The day arrived quickly, and before Catarsis set off, she handed her team radios disguised as guards so they could communicate with each other and her.

As they moved through the building, Silia made her way in through the front entrance. She looked around with her eyes sharp as a hawk, scouting every vantage point and potential guard view. She listened as her team communicated their positions—some were inside the vents, others on the ground. Eventually, one of the guards ended up in the security room.

Silia pretended to trip as she subtly called over one of her guards dressed as an officer. Once the door to the Evol Suppressor room was opened, chaos erupted. While on her way to the café, Silia had a guard beside her, as most shareholders needed protection from potential attacks, especially those who had donated a lot of money to Linkon Tech, the company that made the Evol Suppressor.

The "guard" next to Silia triggered the fire alarm, causing people to evacuate as the building's lights went out... perfectly in line with the plan. As the lights went dark, Silia followed the guard, pretending to look nervous and confused, then sneaked into the room with the Evol Suppressor when the area was clear.

Silia moved in, surrounded by her team, and that's where she saw the item. As she looked around, she went down and took the suppressor. The guards were alerted, but it was too late. Silia had her team on top get a rope while she grabbed the suppressor and was pulled up. She waited for the radio, "Are we clear?"

As she hears the words clearly from each of the radios, she quickly uses her Evol to set the room on fire, leaving no traces of their fingerprints or footprints. While moving up and out, she glances briefly at Mephisto, gives him a cheeky smirk, and then she's gone, getting into a Catarsis limo heading to Onychinus.

Silia walked in as confidently as ever, pressing the suppressor on the table and raising an eyebrow at Sylus, the ever-sassy woman she was. "Got the suppressor, took out the evidence, and maybe the organisation in the process. So...let's talk about the partnership." She then stepped closer into the room. "Do you agree with the partnership with Catarsis?" She paused for a moment. "Actually, I have done my part, so...I don't really care what you think; after all, we originally agreed to this."

Sylus let out a slow smirk as he leaned forward, his gaze raking over Silia before glancing at the suppressor. "What an efficient kitten you are," he mused as Mephisto, perched to the side, ruffled his feathers and let out a pleased yet soft caw. Sylus raised his eyebrow. "You didn't think I would keep to my side of the agreement, sweetie?" Sylus smoothly got off the throne, moved over to the suppressor, and grabbed it in his hands, his expression unreadable as he looked over the object.

"That was quite a show, Kitten. I heard you burned everything to the ground; I could smell the fire from here," he mused as Silia crossed her arms and tilted her head in confusion. "Well, I do prefer to get the job done, and I should burn the place down so there are no witnesses. They can just say someone was smoking and caused the fire," she replied.

She acknowledged that fire was involved, but not that her Evol was the main use of it. "If you are that impressed, then I expect a deal," she said as she slid the contract in front of him.

Sylus let out a low chuckle as a playful glint appeared in his gaze. "Oh, Kitten, you definitely know how to make an entrance and exit; however, you are only scratching the surface of what can be considered impressive by Onychinus standards."

He looked down as his fingers brushed against the contract, glancing at it. He smirked as he looked back up at Silia. "You're direct, I like that, but remember there are no such hidden clauses in the N109 Zone, and I always make sure I collect." Sylus looked down at the contract, only skimming over its contents before elegantly and quickly signing his name and turning his attention back to Silia. "Consider Catarsis is intertwined with Onychinus. Welcome to the Onychinus family, Silia, and please make sure not to bore me."

Silia rolled her eyes as she kept her gaze on Sylus. "I'm not always going to be your sweet kitten. If you hurt me or my team, then I will fight back," she snapped back, using his nickname against him. She returned to her team as she turned her gaze back to Sylus. "I have an evol if that wasn't already obvious to you, so I wouldn't be so stupid as to cross my lines, Sylus. I know you're smarter than the dumb men I have met. You'd better not bore me either; I don't like people who waste my time."

Her words were sharp and truthful, as she preferred to look after her own and was very protective of her team. When she looked up at Mephisto, a hint of confusion appeared in her gaze. How could someone as 'Scary' as Sylus own a bird like that? Mephisto seemed more adorable than the leader sitting next to him... how odd.

Chapter 2: Dangerous Woman

Silia was let into Onychinus as she saw Luke and Keiran at the door. She had her team behind her, a small part of her team, at least, with about four people supporting her, some of her most loyal followers. Luke and Keiran looked at each other, curious about how their boss would react to this new girl. She definitely didn't have the look of a delicate flower to them, especially now.

Silia made sure to brief her team on what they needed to do and act, reminding them not to forget her point about the consequences if they didn't—ruined reputations or even death. As she walked through the hallway, she saw photos of Sylus, as well as images of dragons and other fantastical landscapes, which she found confusing. Why would someone with a reputation like Sylus have photos of dragons?

She saw the doors open as she bowed her head gracefully while walking into the room, her posture straight as she made sure to carry herself with as much confidence as she could. As the doors open, she notices the man himself, Sylus, sitting on his throne at the end of a long, elegant red carpet, her heels echoing within the hall as she steps in.

Sylus glances at Silia, looking her up and down. Silia bows her head as she looks up to meet his red gaze, both intimidating as if testing whether his presence alone would scare her off, but she is not willing to back down.

"I got your message... You would like Catarsis to partner up with Onychinus," he said, a slow laugh echoing through the hall as she narrows her gaze at him.

"What makes you think Onychinus would need a partnership to stay strong?" Sylus said as he tilted his head slightly and rested it against his hand, curious about what Silia had to offer.

Silia stepped closer into the room, but not enough to lose the distance between them. "Even though your contacts are spread out, wouldn't it be good to have them all connected in my new space? And even though you have power in the N109 Zone, wouldn't it be perfect to also have that level of power in Linkon?"

Sylus narrows his gaze as he chuckles. "Interesting, so you're not just a pretty kitten... You have teeth, though. What makes you think I can't just take lower Linkon for myself? I did exactly that in the N109 zone with little to no help needed." Sylus said as he leaned back, taking in every microexpression Silia had.

Mephisto, who was perched next to Sylus, was rustling his feathers, but Silia didn't find the mechanical bird scary... more... charming in a sense. Sylus, however, was watching for any sign of hesitation from her. Silia smirked as she tilted her head slightly. "Wasn't the N109 Zone mostly in ruins by the time you planned to take over? Linkon is a whole different matter. You need connections for taking downtown Linkon."

She averts her gaze playfully to irritate him, perhaps wanting to challenge him and possibly motivate him to take the partnership more seriously.

"Go ahead, go waltz in there. However, you might find it harder than it would be if you make those connections. So, it's up to you. You can either make it easier or harder for yourself. Catarsis can offer you all the connections within Linkon if you join us."

Her tone carried a hint of warning as she then saw him teleport, surrounded by black and red mist, and within the blink of an eye, he was right in front of her, her eyes widening quickly... he has an evol.

"You know I do adore a challenge, but I would sheath my claws if I were you, kitten," he said as he stepped closer, just enough to create a little distance between them. He chuckled, which rumbled and echoed through the hall. "I wouldn't underestimate what I can do." He looked around, signalling what's around her. "I built up the N109 zone through blood, sweat, and tears, and I can do it all again if needed. Now tell me again, why do I need Catarsis, kitten?"

She narrowed her gaze at him as she stepped back slightly, playing along with his little game to show she wasn't his toy to manipulate, then looked up to meet his gaze. "Fine, give us a trial. If we complete it, then we will sign the deal with you, and officially, Catarsis will be partnered with Onychinus. If we lose, well... your dagger can take my blood and life." As she said this, she noticed the shocked looks from her team as their eyes widened, but Silia understood the game being played and knew she had to make a high stake if Sylus was even going to listen to her.

Sylus lets out a low, deep laugh that echoes through the building, sounding like a sign of being entertained, as Mephisto rustles his feathers in slight surprise.

"I do like a good gamble when it comes to my deals~" he steps closer and lifts her chin as if to try and catch her off guard. "You do know how to make negotiations interesting, kitten~"

He smirked as he noticed Silia's eyes widen slightly when he saw her quickly regain that cold, aloof persona. She then backed up, creating distance—this was all part of her game. Her gaze was challenging before she stepped away.

"Deal. Now cut to the chase—what do you need me to do?" she asks as she joins her team and watches Luke and Kerien bring out the notes for the trial mission. Sylus smirked as he observed how Silia was acting—defiant but smart. "There is a company making something that can suppress people's emotions. They are getting too big and invading too much space. Track them down and get their prototype device... that will stop their operations in their tracks. Do this, and Onychinus will support and partner with Catarsis." Sylus narrows his gaze, more serious. "I want it all destroyed, including evidence and anyone working within that building. Spare nothing." Sylus commands in a deep, menacing tone. "We know what will happen if you fail."

Silia tilted her head to show she understood him. "I'll get that done for you in two days... anything else?" she asked, about to turn around with a raised eyebrow. "Don't die so I can decide whether you and Catarsis are worth it," he says with that iconic smirk of his.

Chapter 1: The Kitten Meets The Dragon

The N109 zone was dark, as it always was, with Sylus used to its operations and the criminal world. Nothing disturbed him in his role of ruling Onychinus. He had heard rumours within his networks of a group that had once been small in Linkon's criminal underground, now gaining strength.

The room was grand, stretching through a long, vast hallway, with decor resembling a grand Victorian hallway featuring dark red and black walls. A long, dark brown wooden table, reminiscent of one found in a hallway for royalty, spanned half the room. Chairs were arranged in a line leading to the throne, guiding the eye toward Sylus.

He was becoming increasingly intrigued as he noticed how often Catarsis had entered the rumour mill within the N109 zone. Usually, he would shrug off the rumour mill, considering it beneath him, but he would still use it to get a general sense of what's happening in Linkon and the N109 zone.

Sylus was sitting there, looking down at a paper that appeared to be a review of events in the N109 Zone and the broader criminal world. Although in Linkon this paper was sold mainly in the back streets of the N109 Zone, the paper called "The Black Crow" was widely distributed among the people in N109, as well as among crime gangs and organisations.

He glanced over at Luke and Keiran, who had been examining the reports compared to Sylus; they always kept themselves entertained by the goings-on in Linkon, especially. Sylus sighed as he tapped his fingers against his grand yet intimidating dark throne, which had a shadow that stretched across the long, nearly endless hallway.

Luke and Kerien looked up instantly as they had been sharing a copy of the paper, but compared to Sylus, who was reading the news end of it, they had skipped straight to the gossip section, something they loved to read in their free time. Sylus rolled his eyes at their cackling over the gossip as he narrowed his gaze at them to bring the boys into focus.

"Luke, Kerien. I have business for you." He said bluntly, knowing he didn't need many words to get their attention. In quick time, Luke and Keiran rushed over as Sylus glanced up from the reports. "I need you to look into Catarsis and bring their leader to me." He said in an almost commanding tone. "Her name... Silia, right? Yes, bring her to me. I would like to meet this leader and see what she's made of."

Luke and Kerian look at each other, confused about why their boss had no idea about Catarsis's invitation to meet with him. That morning, they received an email in their mailbox from Catarsis and learned through their conversation with Silia's assistant, who messaged them on her behalf. They wondered if their boss would decline Catarsis, similar to how he had turned down partnerships with many other groups.

Luke stood up from his kneeling position. "Boss, it seems she had already tried to get in contact with Onychinus. She is looking for a meeting...a Partnership."

Sylus chuckled deeply as it echoed across the expansive room. "Is she now? Interesting...what a daring kitten we have here." He mused with a smirk as he tilted his head curiously. Sylus leaned back, feeling the rich, soft plush of the chair against his back, made from some of the finest materials.

"Bring her in tomorrow; I need to see if she's just naive or maybe a woman who's one step ahead." He looked back at Luke and Keiran, who had exchanged curious glances. They seemed entertained by the idea of a challenge, especially in a place that had seemed so predictable, like the N109 Zone, and it was finally time for things to get spicy.

Silia had told her assistant to draft a letter to the Onychinus operatives saying she would be interested in partnering with them. She knew that this might seem like a foolish decision, but did she care? No, did she have any other way to expand into the N109 zone without running into Onychinus anyway...no. She was an exciting woman, one who piqued his interest enough to invite her to meet him, something he wouldn't normally offer.

Silia's assistant, Melody, was taken aback by this sudden decision from Silia, especially considering the reputation that Onychinus held. However, Silia had assured her that this was the only way that Catarsis could grow and become more successful. No matter what, Silia believed the path would lead to this eventually. Melody soon received a reply and was quick to inform Silia.

Silia knew that with this, she was venturing into very dangerous territory; however, she also knew that to gain more influence beyond Linkon, she would have to partner with Onychinus and face the devious leader himself. She had done her research, but Sylus was a complete mystery to her. A man who had been in and out of leadership, only to always come back stronger than before... more menacing than before.

Soon, the day arrived as Silia prepared herself, applying her red lipstick and tying her hair into a high bun. She made sure her blue eyes matched with dark eyeshadow. She had dealt with men before; some had been smart, but many had foolishly let their guard down, opening her up to key opportunities. She ensured her makeup was sharp and designed to feel intimidating.

This man, however, was different; she knew that making a deal with him would be very difficult. She wanted to look elegant but also strong, so she put on a sharp suit with black heels, showing a more masculine side with a hint of femininity. For this meeting, she felt like she had to display some part of a stronger, more masculine side to be considered worthy.

She needed to be prepped for the devil.
