MUG-O-MANIA! Mugs on mugs on mugs! I really love how these turned out, they would make for a great set together.

The top two bowls I’m in absolute love with. As soon as I got these bowls back from the glaze fire, I went home and made a large pot of vegetarian chili. I gotta say, the chili looked even more beautiful than normal in these bowls. The bottom two bowls I had issues with firing, the blue was supposed to be red, but there was problems with oxidation within the firing process.

I love how these covered jars came out, I even love that the glaze didn’t adhere to the entirety of the pot, but I wonder why it didn’t. I’m pretty excited to use them to store tea and coffee in at my desk at the Warehouse!

All of the vases that I made this semester. Most of them are really small, it took me awhile to get used to throwing larger objects and also compensating for shrinkage while firing. I really love how the ones with texture came out, I think they’ll make for great potpourri holders!

This is a great tutorial on how to make a Hans Coper vessel, will defiantly come in handy. Also I’ve never seen someone throwing while standing up, very interesting.

I love Hans Coper’s use of negative space. While there physically a gap within the form, my eye is taking it as a whole.

The fact that the interior of this vase is glazed black, leaves a mystery behind for the viewer. It’s almost like a black hole.

Check out that faceting, I haven’t seen this technique used in a twisty way like this before.

The texture and glaze on these vases almost reminds me of spools of yarn, very cool!
