“I would have stayed if you asked” + “you know i’d do anything for you”
Chan gently set you down on the bed, slowly releasing your arm draped around his neck. “You think you’re going to be okay?” Chan whispered quietly so as to not wake your roommates. You both met up to grab dinner but before you knew it, you were plastered beyond belief. It was only supposed to be a few drinks, you thought. “Mmm yeah” you grunted.
“You sure? I can stay” Chan sat at the foot of your bed, taking off your shoes and your socks. “Yeah yeah. No, just gooooooooo” you drunkenly raised your voice, shooing him out of the room. “Hey” one of your roommates stood in the doorway, ruffling her messy hair, “Is she okay?” looking at you with one eye open. Looks like Chan’s whispering didn’t matter anyway.
“Yeah, she just had too much to drink” Chan laughed, “Do you think you could... get her changed?” Chan motioned to your moto-jacket, jeans clad body. “Yeah” she nodded, “Thanks for taking her home”.
“Yeah, of course. I’ll stop by with breakfast tomorrow morning” Chan slowly stepped out of the room, giving you one final look before heading out the front door, “I’ll see ya”

“Good morning, sleepy head” Chan knocked softly on your bedroom door, seeing you sitting up with a cup of tea in your hands. You had a pounding headache but Chan happened to have brought your favorite breakfast to make it all better. “Morning” you mumbled. “How you feeling?” he asked as he sat on your bed to lay out your food for you. “Shitty” you sighed, “Would’ve been nice to wake up to some cuddles though” you pouted, raising an eyebrow at him.
Chan was always one of your favorite cuddle buddies, but last night, you were worried that you might let something slip. Something that could change your friendship. Your feelings for him had been changing as of late and you weren’t sure if having him over when you’ve had too much drink would be the greatest idea.
“I would have stayed if you asked” he giggled. “I know...” your voice trailed off. “What’re you thinking?” Chan raised an eyebrow. “Nothing” you shook your head. “It’s not nothing, I know you” he cocked his head to the side. “I was embarrassed. I didn’t want you to see or hear anything more than you needed to” you half-lied. “You know I’d do anything for you” his tone became very serious.
“You know that, right?” he leaned forward on the bed, sitting closer to you. You swallowed thickly, “Yeah” you croaked out. “So if you ever need ANYTHING, you just let me know, okay?” he busily got up and started throwing away the trash after setting up your breakfast. “What kind of friend would I be if I didn’t at least stay the night to make sure you’re okay?” he stood, hands on his hips. You scoffed before taking a bite of your toast, “At that point, you wouldn’t be just a friend” you said light-heartedly as you chewed, “You’d be a boyfriend if you were staying the night just for that”.
“Well if that’s what you want, I can be that too!” he stomped his foot. You couldn’t tell if he was joking but the thought made your heart skip a beat. You felt your throat go dry as you swallowed the toast as you felt a blush creep into your cheeks.
You shook your head and patted the bed, saying “Can you just sit down and eat half of this with me?”
“And thank you... for everything...” you smiled as he sat down.
“I’ll see you” you whispered, being careful as to not wake your housemates. It was nearly 2AM and you were seeing your late night booty call off. Yeah yeah, I know what you’re thinking. That’s probably not what one should be doing, it’s frowned upon, yada-yada... It’s just worked for you.
No feelings, no commitments, just sex. *shrug*
You quietly turned the knob, shutting the front door quietly with a click. You turned on your heels and started tip toeing back to your room. Just as you reached your door, your hall neighbor happened to emerge from his.
“Sending off another hollaback boy?” a shirtless Chris emerged from the depths of his room. “Oh shut it, Chris” you rolled your eyes. “You’re real quiet, you know. It leaves a lot of room for imagination” he winked. “Oh my god, shut the fuck up!” you gasped in a loud whisper. “I’m kiddddding~” he snickered before waltzing into the kitchen. You scoffed to yourself in disbelief. The audacity that boy has, you shook your head. “Good night~” he called out from the kitchen. “Night!” you responded. You shut the door quicky and turned off the light before he could bother you any further.
You yawned loudly, stretching your arms as you trotted over to the bathroom. It was nearly 10AM and you were just now waking up. Whatever, that’s what weekends are for, right? Just as you walked past, Chris emerged from his room, shirtless yet again. “Good morning~” he cooed, running a hand through his messy hair. “Morning, Chris” you chuckled, shaking your head as you remembered his comment from last night. You could feel his eyes boring a hole into your backside as he watched you walk towards the bathroom.
“Have something to say?” you looked over your shoulder, catching him staring at you. “Nope. Nothing at all” he leaned against the doorframe, hands buried in the pockets of his sweat pants, silently retreating into his room. “Alright then” you sing-songed as you pushed the door open, shutting it behind you.
It was no secret that Chris Bang had the biggest crush on you for whatever reason. It was bizarre to you and all your housemates, considering he saw you first thing in the morning when you weren’t washed up and even late at night when you were binge-eating Cheetos and watching romantic comedies at 4AM. Not to mention, he was very hyper-aware of all your late night booty calls and hookups. Though he never judged you for it, it was even weirder that it was something he didn’t mind nor seem to care much about, contrary to lots of other guys you’ve met.
You headed back to your room after your shower, a towel wrapped across your body and another wrapped up in your hair. You walked past Chris’ room to find him leaned over in his chair, staring intently at his TV screen while he played video games. He caught your gaze and smiled brightly, taking off his headphones. “Snuggles?” he raised an eyebrow. “Maybe in a little” you laughed heartily. “Can’t wait!” he grinned. “Ugh you’re so frickin cute, Chris” you pinched his cheek with your free hand.
“Let me go change” you walked off, heading into your room.
Cute? Is that all? Chris scoffed to himself. Whatever, he’ll take what he can get.
Whenever you needed a good snuggle, Chris was your guy. I mean, yeah... he had a crush on you, but it couldn’t be anything more than that, right? Snuggles could be meaningless, they don’t necessarily have to be a romantic thing to do, right? You know, they do say that the average human needs at least 4 hugs a day just for survival purposes. If someone was willing to give you those survival hugs for free, who are you to reject them?
A few minutes later, a knock came at your door as you lied in bed, checking your social media after changing into comfy clothes. “Who is it?” you called out. “Meeeeeeeee” a familiar Australian accent echoed thru the cracks of the door. “It’s open” you responded. Chris came prancing it, jumping on your bed and crawling up to the unoccupied side of the bed. You naturally shifted up the bed and laid your head on his chest, his arm wrapping around your shoulders as you continued to check your social media. It’s a little odd now to think about how natural the whole action and process was, but something about it was just so... right and so comfortable.
“Your hair smells nice. Did you change your shampoo?” Chris muttered softly. “I did, thanks for noticing” you laughed. You looked up at him as he lowered his gaze to look at you. You smiled brightly at him, “You’re so attentive, aren’t you?” you booped his nose. You knew it was wrong to toy with his emotions if you didn’t have any intention of dating him or being anything serious, but there was something about being with him that made you feel young again. It made you feel carefree, like there was nothing going on in the world besides you and him.
Much to Chris’ dismay, he knew you only saw him as a younger guy and a housemate you were comfortable with. He couldn’t even say he’s at least kissed you because even when you’re black out drunk, you were still in the right mind to drunkenly slur “ugh, but you’re like a baby”... every... time. He wanted to change your mind somehow, but if your mind was made up, who was he to force you to change it. So for the time being, daily snuggles and cheeky side comments thrown in every now and then was his plan of action.
“Hey Chris” you mumbled. “Mmm?” he hummed as he subconsciously began playing with your hair. “In your humble opinion, do you ever think I should just stop hooking up with people? With randoms? And just like settle down?” you began drawing circles on his chest, speaking the everlasting question of any person who has ever had FWB relationships. He was silent for a moment. Deep in thought. Thinking earnestly about how he should answer your question.
“Honestly, it’s your life and you can do whatever you want with it. I can’t tell you what’s wrong or right for you, only you can. But I’ll be here for you no matter what you decide, okay? Don’t forget that. When one booty call wrongs you, don’t worry Chris is here. With snuggles” he flashed a smile. A strange tension you had on your shoulders washed away by just looking at him. “I don’t know what I did to deserve someone like you in my life, but I’m really thankful you came around” you smiled to yourself, hugging his torso, “How can I ever repay you for all these delightful snuggles?” you hummed.
JUST DATE ME ALREADY, Chris screamed in his head.
“It’s really nothing” Chris smiled to himself, feeling tempted to kiss you on the top of your head. “Anything for you” he settled back in the pillow. Anything.
