When Theo wakes up in the McCalls’ living room, the entire upper half of Liam’s body is inside Theo’s shirt, the one he’s wearing right now, that’s still kind of covered in blood and sweat and grime, his face mashed to Theo’s bare chest, soft, snuffling breaths whispering across Theo’s skin, and Theo’s trying to keep his heart rate steady, but it’s unsuccessful, and it spikes, and then it runs, quickly getting faster and faster until it wakes Liam up, where he had his ear pressed to Theo’s chest.
